I haven’t had issues with mine. I think it’s like any care if you take care of the car it won’t need as much attention. You have to drive it consistently to keep everything running the way it’s supposed to.
Great review, thanks for sharing! Watching this helped me realize the McLaren 720S is incredible, but it’s just not for me. Your detailed breakdown actually made me reconsider, and I’ve decided to go with a 2008 Honda instead.
cool video, this is a dream car for me. Also just randomly got recommended this video and you live like 20 minutes away from me. I work in boca and see a lot of McLaren's and more recently cybertrucks. Just saw a blue and black bugatti like two days ago. Second time ever seeing one in person.
It’s an amazing car. I have seen that Bugatti a few times too. I have a blue McLaren 765LT now if you see me let me know I will show you the car. Sorry for the late reply UA-cam hasn’t been showing me all the comments.
For me the 812 isn't an option. My head hits the support making it uncomfortable for me to sit in. If that's not a problem for you it really boils down to what you are looking for in the car. The 720 is turbo so you get that boost and the doors go up mid rear engine so it's super balanced and exotic looking. The 812 is a screaming V12 that sounds amazing it's fast and NA so it's a nice acceleration curve. It's like an exotic muscle car with the styling. I prefer the F12 design a little more but either way you get the best at what it's built for.
@@Busterburg Hello dear, What would you expect prices in upcoming years about Maclaren 720s and upper models... And if we drive it 2-3 times a week's what will be the maintenance or service cost at the end of the month. And would u recommend to have a used Maclaren 720s ? Thanks 👍🏻
@@megastar3029 I think that McLaren prices will follow their trend. The normal models will take a pretty hard hit due to the release of different types of the same model, spider, lt and occasionally the R. Then the replacement model, like the 750 was for the 720. After that they slow down and somewhat hold where they are. The 720 is low right now I think due to the economy so they are amazing to buy. The maintenance for driving that amount would probably just be the annual service price and occasionally tires.
@@Busterburg Thanks for your reply man ! Appreciate it 😊 But if we buy used Mclaren especially (720s) which is about $120,000 USD In Dubai would u recommend it ? And what should we look forward for our betterment please give me a feedback. I would absolutely love to hear it .
I have added 2500 miles in the past 8 months to my 765LT. 3000 to my Durango Hellcat and about the same to my golf cart. I have only put 1500 ish miles in the raptor this year. The 720 I averaged 2500 to 3000 per year.

Apart from the space, how does this car compare to the Lamborghini Huracan or Aventador? If you were a few inches shorter, would you still prefer the McLaren?
It’s way easier and more comfortable to drive. My Aventador felt very outdated with all the technology features navigation, Bluetooth, the screen and controls. The Mclaren is way easier to park too.

I am actually working on a video for cost of ownership. But I have driven just over 3,000 miles and I have only had to do one annual service that was $2500 I have spent money on some other things but that was the only real have to.
@chianhan I thought the same thing at one point. Keep that goal in mind and work backwards to figure out what you can do today to get you one step closer today.
how much is your insurance monthly/yearly? I almost bought a McLaren but the insurance was too much $$$ for SF/SD markets. Had to go with a 10+ yr old Ferrari instead for the "classic car" huge discount
Fact is that there are very few cars with a perfect navigation. Another fact is that supercars consist quite often out of after market parts. Particularly Ferrari suffers from this problem.
I agree now with how phones are I don't think the cars should waste their time with built in navigation just go straight to Apple car play or Android Auto.
Yeah that’s a rough one. I showed it to the sales guy last time I was there and he acted like it was no big deal. I am taking it in to have service look it over before the warranty expires I will have them fix it. They are way better with customer service than the sales people.
i had one for 4 months and put 16k miles on it from brand new and the first 8k miles were great but for what i used it for it went to shit very quick, i would go over 200mph many times every time i took out the car(weekends only), and it just couldnt handle what i wanted out of a car, i ended up trading it for a GT Black Series and Renntech tuned it to 1100hp.
@@Busterburg like butter, the high speed handling and the way it takes corners is incredible, definitely worth your time checking em out if you do any super high speed stuff
I went with an Aston Martin Vantage and I am going to tune it. I couldn’t find a black series for the price I thought they should be. They look and sound awesome so I’m glad to hear they drive as good as they look and sound.
I get it but I think it’s dumb that when you get these cars they expect you to be ok with lower quality things in the car because it’s made to go fast. It’s a small problem that is easy to overlook.
I m italian,so i would PERSONALLY chose an f8 tributo over this.. But it is undeniable that the 720s will go down in history It's insanely fast, and it looks so sexy. Salute from italy

Hello there, very nice review, have you been honnest about reliability? I got some some nice cars and read a lot about Mcalren, can you tell me? Here in Canada, some crazy fools paid almost 300K cad dollars for the hideous C8 Z06 wannabe ugly and slow in straight line Corvette ( 3750lbs for 670HP trap speed like 130MPH and 720S is 140-142mph trap )...I saw onlye 2 720S in my life since 2017 but saw C8 everytime, how it can be possible that some people pay a Chevrolet Corvette C8Z06 300K like you can have a nice 720S low milleage close to this price??
I haven’t had any crazy maintenance bills yet I have one soon that will be over $4500 and the warranty won’t cover it. Chevy has done a really good job making people think the C8 is a limited number car but it obviously isn’t. I don’t understand why so many people are paying so much for them right now.
I almost never use it, I like to hear the car. When my kids are with me they will connect their phone with Bluetooth and play songs. The speakers sound great and the connection has not dropped off. It is weird if you want to switch to a new phone, it only lets one of the connected devices have the ability to play music. So if it’s connected to my oldest daughters phone but one of my younger daughters get in the car I have to switch it in the cars Bluetooth settings so they can connect their phone.
I’d rather the 675 LT over the 720S. Mclaren we’re in a far stronger financial position when they designed & built the 675LT than the 720S & it’s a better engineered car as a result.
Can you please give some examples? I've watched all the Robert Mitchell's videos of him raving about the 675LT on the Nurburgring just wondering in what ways you feel the 72O is inferior.
I was meaning the 765LT is better than the 720S. Just like the 675LT is better than the 650S. Whenever McLaren makes a LT they upgrade and fix the base car.

Whether or not others of expensive cars admit it out not.. . It IS largely for the status and recognition. Just as it's is owning an expensive Swiss watch. No one wants to spend$300000 she have to constantly explain what car you're driving... AG's still get"backstab? Never heard of it.. Fast? Expensive??"..VS everyone recognizes a Ferrari or a Porsche.. People not into cars
I wouldn’t if it would connect to my car with apple car play or android auto. There isn’t a great place to put your phone to see without totally looking away from the road.
I know I’m in the minority with that opinion. I just love the way it smells and looks when it’s cleaned and taken care off. I view alcantara as a face suede to just fabric made to look fancy.
It means I usually don’t keep these cars for a full year just like the long list of cars before them. I don’t know how much of a flex it is but if that’s what you think that’s fine.

@@Busterburg It doesn't get as much attention as the McLaren (good or bad thing depending on the person), but the glorious V10 engine + exhaust sounds fighting each other is unfair when compared to the V8 TT 720s. I'm more of a sound > speed guy so to each their own, but I think I might prefer the R8 slightly more for that reason alone. Also I'm really big into music and as the cars warm up I like to blast some tunes in both. The Bang and Olufsen upgraded system in the R8 sounds 5x better than the Bowers & Wilkins system in the McLaren. The bass is seriously impressive in the R8. Storage space is better in the McLaren even with the lack of glove box. You thought the 720s frunk was small? The R8 is a joke haha. Awesome you had a 1st gen! Most car people regard the 1st gen as the most beautiful and classic of all R8s.
@@Busterburg Lambo Huracan has both the crazy supercar looks and the V10 sound, but you lose out on the great sound system and a few other things that make the R8 a bit more of a daily in comparison. @VoRLiN so had an Aventador it was a dream car for sure but I wasn’t in love with the way it drives. I don’t really fit in Huracans or 812 so I have a smaller pool of cars I can pick from.

Idk why but Mclaren just doesnt sound good. It looks cool etc but i hlonly hear bad things abt it. Its like they sell supercars tjat are recycled. I like the concept of the 720s but i would never buy a Mclaren if i had the money
The sound is definitely not as good as some others in its class. Although it does get better when you are actually driving it. I have had issues with quality on a lot of these types of cars I just don’t get why these brands think the name alone will make up for lesser quality. Mclaren so far has been equal with Lamborghini for me. A few of the issues I had with mine in the beginning were the service departments fault not the cars. They forgot to plug some things back in when working on it and they installed the radar detector sensors to close to the parking sensor. What car is your dream car to own?

I’ve been trying to convince myself why I should buy this car and I can’t come to a logical conclusion. The Porsche 911 just screams practicality to me.
I don’t think a McLaren is the car to buy for practicality. I have never owned a Porsche and only driven a few so I have a limited knowledge to compare, but I am underwhelmed every time I look at Porsche and excited every time I look at McLaren.

720s or an 812 superfast?
For me the 812 isn't an option. My head hits the support making it uncomfortable for me to sit in. If that's not a problem for you it really boils down to what you are looking for in the car. The 720 is turbo so you get that boost and the doors go up mid rear engine so it's super balanced and exotic looking. The 812 is a screaming V12 that sounds amazing it's fast and NA so it's a nice acceleration curve. It's like an exotic muscle car with the styling. I prefer the F12 design a little more but either way you get the best at what it's built for.
great review man! What are you doing to be able to afford such a great car?
I own an automotive locksmith business.
Can you daily drive it? What bout road bumps? Roads in Spain are a mess
It can easily be a daily it has a front lift and handles bumps well.
@@Busterburg Hello dear,
What would you expect prices in upcoming years about Maclaren 720s and upper models...
Appreciate it 😊
But if we buy used Mclaren especially (720s) which is about $120,000 USD
In Dubai would u recommend it ?

@megastar3029 I would definitely buy one for that price. Try to find the car with the most options it will make it easier to sell later.
How many miles do you drive it a year?
I have added 2500 miles in the past 8 months to my 765LT. 3000 to my Durango Hellcat and about the same to my golf cart. I have only put 1500 ish miles in the raptor this year. The 720 I averaged 2500 to 3000 per year.

Fact is that there are very few cars with a perfect navigation. Another fact is that supercars consist quite often out of after market parts.

i had one for 4 months and put 16k miles on it from brand new and the first 8k miles were great but for what i used it for it went to shit very quick, i would go over 200mph many times every time i took out the car(weekends only), and it just couldnt handle what i wanted out of a car, i ended up trading it for a GT Black Series and Renntech tuned it to 1100hp.

@readyon3506 they did the 750 so maybe they are going to build off of that more? I’m sure they are developing a hybrid successor.
Do the negatives how often has it been in the shop homie
It needed a new battery at the beginning, the annual service, and now to fix a small paint flaw.
I’d rather the 675 LT over the 720S. Mclaren we’re in a far stronger financial position when they designed & built the 675LT than the 720S & it’s a better engineered car as a result.
Me too but right now you can buy two 720’s for the price of a 765.

Daily a 2020 Audi R8 and 2021 McLaren 720s Spider and the McLaren looks way better and is way faster
Yeah the McLaren is so fast. How do you like the R8? I haven’t had one of that generation. Mine was a first gen.

I also find Huracans to be a lot more common than R8s in the cities I live.
