- Taking my new Behringer TD-3-MO for a spin. But instead of doing a traditional acid house / techno jam. I wondered if I could do a hardware dark ambient drone jam with the TD-3 and TD-3-MO. Featuring the Elektron Analog Heat and Eventide Black Hole.
Thanks. Drones are important for layering in SynthPop, which is what we do at our studio. Very nice.
Thank you Lysettel. Yes indeed, drones are an important part of music. And have been for centuries. For example (church) organs didgeridoos and my personal favourite, the hurry gurdy. I love the sound of that instrument! Like a massive, harmonically rich sawtooth oscillator.
Nice work
Thanks Elchan!
good job...
Thanks Dave!
Really cool stuff man. Somewhere, Cthulu has been awoken following your performance. I'm not sure I've ever heard a 303 used like that, really impressive.
Thanks Mir, much appreciated! It does feel like it summons something big and ancient, doesn't it. Don't think I have ever heard a 303 pushed in this direction either. Which is why wanted to try. Turns out that little box is pretty good at it. :)
cool stuff, not what I normally go for, but totally what I was into for 7 minutes and 47 seconds there
Dope.
Thanks Brian!
This is some of the best noise; I’d listen to it all day long!
Thank you very much PA! That's lovely to hear.
Nice work !! Thanks for sharing !! 👍👍✨✨
Thank you Chris! My pleasure.
Renoise and TD-3-MO got a hard smash like. I like the experiment of sustain...
Thank you John! You're a fellow Renoise user as well I take it?
@@electronictiger Oh yeah, I go back to Amiga days with trackers.
Interesting approach!
Thank you Grzegorz!
How come it sounds like a long note rather than steps triggered to the 303 clones? Not sure I got that bit but loved the sounds
Thanks Cosmolopez! Happy to hear you're enjoying it. The trick is a combination of both fast and slow notes so the overlap and melt together. And high amounts of feedback on a delay is your friend.
This would kill with a bliss chase mood and habit pedal in the chain..
Yes! I agree with you. I've been wanting the Habit pedal for quite a while now. Seems like a lot of fun, like all Chase Bliss pedals, really. They're not exactly cheap, so I haven't gone for it...(yet).
@electronictiger for such a dynamic pedal, with so many features and so many different dip switching options. They aren't that expensive. The hologram micro is another option for turning the sinple dry into the complex layers and euphoria... there are so many interesting stereo pedals these days....
@@electronictiger check out how much of a difference some well timed and quality delays and reverbs make to some arps that are boring and dull when dry.

@@ELCHAN-uc5crYup, reverbs & delays are like a magic sauce that make pretty much everything better.
That's awesome! I love this sort of droney dark ambient stuff, but never would've thought the 303 could do it. What sort of midi notes are you sending it? I don't hear any note attacks, so it's almost like one long note.. But maybe it gets lost in the reverb/delay wash?
Nice work man... I am inspired to try something similar now.
Thanks Dave, I am very happy to hear that. Even more so that it inspires you to try your own take on it. Please do!
It's been a few month since I did this jam. But if memory serves me right I had a sequence of fast 16th notes going into the TD-3-MO. Think I had 4 different patterns that I could switch between. And much longer notes into the regular TD-3. They blend together in the high feedback delay wash indeed. Which is the core of the sound, really. The key is to keep adjusting the parameters so it doesn't become a screaming feedback mess.
Anyway, thanks for stopping by and happy music making!
is that a cat on the table..?
...nice drones btw ❣
Thanks Sokoleski. Indeed it is! That's Genki's spot. He enjoys hanging out together like that.
My MO is arriving tomorrow, been watching all sorts of demos but this stood out. Ive also got a TD3 and the plan was to make blaring acid techno but now... not so sure... acid drone?
Thank you Osvos! Go for it! Let acid drone become a real genre. Be sure to post a link if you do. I would love to hear what you made with it. Anyway, have fun with your new toy!
Noice😸
Thank you Achronicity!
