that is truly an amazing machine, in the video the scale of it is HUGE, I can't imagine what it must be like to stand next to it, or better yet be at the controls
I was at Mt Keith as a fitter with BHP when the 2 EX8000's got parked up. I always wondered where they ended up. There was alot of equipment sent to the graveyard as a result of the GFC in 2008/09, more than alot of mine sites actually have working and unfortunately this machine and its newer brother EX1435 were included. I got alot of experience when I was at Mt Keith, But I'll never miss the food!!
Just look at that cabin!! That's an office on its own! LOL, many people life smaller then that! Great place to chill out after work, put TV, mini bar and some snacks inn there! Hell, i would rent that! Or buy that, just for that cab! lol
l dont understand why did this video got 2 "dislikes".... Perhaps the dudes didnt understand english... This video is awesome! And its content is what the title says...
From the perspective of a haul truck operator, my perspective, this is the easiest shovel to get a load from. Backing under it is simple. As big as it is, when you're around it everyday you realize that it's rather small compared to the others
The EX8000 in backhoe double benching and loading the EH5000-3 is extremely productive. Talk to the guys at Stanwell and see if you can get some footage. Hopefully with a "full uninterupped truck loading cycle". For educational purposes only :)
think about how much money that quarry or mine makes to buy an run those round the clock. i bet you could spend $200/day just in grease. if it wasn't for big successful companies we would never have awesome machines like this one. Rock on.
You can tell that is in the machines very, very early part of getting running, still orange paint on the bottom of the bucket so hence not getting full buckets as the operators come to grips with the new machine. Any idea where over east the MT K 8000,s are headed?
Hi eh3500acll, Great video! I like it because there is not many of the EX8000's which show anyone near them so you get no idea of scale ! And it is pretty bug! Thank you. Take care, mrbluenun
good, for your old jvc camera! Better than the most HD vids out here! Pretty fly machine! Sweeeet... But what are those "ropes" at the bucket? Is that for safety, or to see if the bucket over the truck? Thanks! Also for the vid!

How much does a machine like this cost? A few million Dollars or a lot more?
You can tell the guy operating it is still getting used to his new machine. It's not being operated very efficiently or smoothly. Too much time is being spent loading the bucket and getting it over to the truck and vice versa. Once he becomes more comfortable with it, he will get better. I'm surprised that the company after having spent that kind of money on such a machine wouldn't be putting an operator with more experience into it.
According to Hitachi's technical specifications: Two Cummins QSK60C water-cooled, 16 cylinder, turbocharged and after cooled, direct-injection chamber-type diesel engines. Net power @ 1,800 rpm - 1,940 hp (1 450 kW) x 2. Gross power @ 1,800 rpm (SAE J1995) - 1,940 hp (1 450 kW) x 2. Maximum torque @ 1,500 rpm - 6,156 lbf-ft. (8 346 N-m) (853 kgf-m) x 2.
@catsarethedevil Have you ever been near a machine like that? I work whit machinery like that...just smaller every day and its easy to see that its not fake.
this video looks like it was taken when it first arrived as the offside of the shovel isnt dented, as it always seemed to be, not to mention half those trucks are now at cloudbreak
The machine was new when you filmed this right? Did you guys have another one like this? I ask because I noticed the training cones on the bucket cylinders. Nice machine btw, I work on EX5500's and EX 3600's but they are set as hoes.

I love HITACHI excavators! They are the best on the market in my oppinion! That big bucket almost looks like prehistoric!

@eh3500acII Actually, they're for positioning of the truck, not bucket. They show the truck drivers where to spot themselves under the bucket.

good video with great sound most dont have this level of sound
Old JVC camera have better quality than many new cameras. Nice video, impressive machine and nice video and audio quality.
@komatsuguru They're simple visual aids for best bucket positioning and loading the truck with a minimum of spillage.
What are the two things hanging off the cylinders? Some kind of indicator but I'm not sure what.
Very impressive.. Thanks, Gordon
@DreamsMemories
Hi, as far as I know two Cummins 16-cylinder engines, 1940 HP each.
qu'elle plaisir sa doit être de pouvoir conduire une machine comme ça
Big machine y Very Good video!
Excellent video!
Impressive machine. Well presented, thanks.
Nice video!!! fantastic machine, congratulationss.
Great video.
Do the trucks back up lined up with his tracks or those two nunchucks under the bucket?
It keeps the rods up out of the rocks so they dont get damaged and leak.

is this the one they trashed after 2 months. I remember seeing the photos. that machine is now in a coal mine in QLD
hard working man right there.
It is wonderful.
Simply an amazing machine. Are there no 797s in this mine.
@sludge277 Yep, that's the one! I remember that powerpoint presentation with photos too!
how many litres a minute is the fuel pump (s) ?
sorry I meant to say hydraulic, not fuel
Watched this video 4 days ago, then was in traffic today and was pondering the joy of haveing one of those mega dump trucks!
very cool!!
Nice video, I adore the sound of this machine. If you have more old clips like this, keep 'em coming! ;)
Nice Video.
The machine looks like it has trouble crowding into the face. Some pretty low fill factors in there.
You can tell that is in the machines very, very early part of getting running, still orange paint on the bottom of the bucket so hence not getting full buckets as the operators come to grips with the new machine.
Any idea where over east the MT K 8000,s are headed?
Hitachi sure can build impressive face shovels.
woww!! look like big powerful monster.
Is this the one that got trashed three months later or the other one they had
when is a model company going to make this in 1:50 scale
This machine might not look as good to the Italian car fanatic, but it costs at least ten times the most expensive lambo on the market ;D
buen video esa es mi meta tambien soy operador de excavadora
Oh this is so rad!
bet its like 1 gallon a second on that monster!
We have some hitachi 8000's in ft mcmurray canada. They are very impressive machines. I remember the first time i saw one, insane.
so where can i buy that mobile fortress?
His friends all have Ferrari's and supercars, they ask him what he drives, he shows them.
They then think, im not going to mess with him.
I'm surprised it doesn't have living quarters.
You had to be Welltrained to used it ! X8000 ex8000 and xlanger !
Next time there's a T-rex loose I want one of these.
I thought that the EX5500 was big! This is a huge hydraulic shovel!
Hi eh3500acll,
Great video! I like it because there is not many of the EX8000's which show anyone near them so you get no idea of scale ! And it is pretty bug!
Thank you.
Take care,
mrbluenun
Hitachi make tvs........and this thing. I can't get over that
Its easier to reseal a leaky boom cylinder by removing the lower mounting pin and removing the rod only.
Great video. Impressive machine.
Very impressive.

I think it could convince a T-Rex to leave the premises.

Do you know which mine? Burton maybe?
Oh I so wished he turn to the machine as he left and pull out the alarm remote and indicator lights blinked and it went peep peep woop hehehehe
@eh3500acII Why were they moved to another mine? Unsuitable for the job?
I could landscape my yard in about 2 seconds.
awesome!

No one has talked about the engine, except to ask what engine it has? well I think it is elect.

Has the mine upgraded to the 797's yet? I see they're running the 793's
That has to be a pain to haul to another mine!
The machine was new when you filmed this right? Did you guys have another one like this? I ask because I noticed the training cones on the bucket cylinders. Nice machine btw, I work on EX5500's and EX 3600's but they are set as hoes.

It is about around 1,300 million yen.

@eh3500acII how that guidelines correctly called? where can read about the correct installation it?
Accidents do happen ...
Three scoops could clear my garden!
I watched them rebuild it in QLD, drove past it every day to work.
Impressive!
