I live in northern Minnesota and know a guy who works in one of the taconite mines loading trucks to go to the crusher. A crusher is what they call a machine breaking big rocks there. Anyways when people ask the guy what his job is he says "My job is to stop the crusher."
Excavator arm with a jackhammer stinger attachment. Piece of cake, but it requires a guy sitting there to run it. This is slower but saves an employee.
As an Underground miner that use to work on the surface I was surprised seeing that water on the ground your crusher not getting bogged also I get why the walls aren't clean dirty walls save the wear plates but at my mine we use a Jaw not Cone as our Primary Crusher but as a driller I will say your drill & blast crew isn't to bad but your shot holes could be a bit closer or load the hole with a bit more if you want the smaller size looking at the rock size all in all yeah you had a few big boulders but nothing serious good vid mate
A big forged steel wrecking ball instead of the big tire will quickly dislodge and break the big rocks for allowing continuous rock crushing. Using physics instead of repeating the same slow cleaning or turning of the plugging big rocks will increase production. The Kobelco Gyratory Cone Crusher should have designed the quick plug cleaning forged steel wrecking ball of maybe 3 feet in diameter that would quickly bust and crack the big plugging rocks with just a short quick swinging into the problem rock, saving time and allowing the Kobelco Gyratory Cone Crusher to process the rated 1600 tons per hour
Trying to figure out what this factory is using this material for. One side seemed to bring in material that looked like coal. The other side was bringing it was appeared to be rock. Video says iron ore so that leads me to believe steel production. Iron and coal.
You don’t mix coal and iron ore at the primary crusher for steel production. That’s all iron ore, probably from two different benches in the pit, reason for the different color and material size.
At first I got hella confused, was like "Why are they crushing rock, is rock powder a thing that is used in any way?" Then of course I realized it's iron ore.
I love the smell of diesel in the morning i wonder what it would be like to stand on top of that round thing and feel the vibration i imagine it would be like riding a bull in a rodeo cool 😎 video lots of power i bet
OMG I can imagine working to get some huge boulder for hours getting in finally on a trailer and taking it here and it goes BANG Cruch and is gone in 2 seconds.
Where I work the shovel operator calls these over size rock regulators. Loading a few oversize will slow down crushing giving truck driver and loader operator a break.
They makes these things called grates that don't allow over sized media into the crusher, maybe look into it...or keep messing around with the hook tire thing.
I love watching the crusher. The only problem I see is the cleaning operation. Those walls need to stay clean so material can drop through the crusher. The crane is slow, but it could keep the walls clean if the operator was in it most of the time. The hook would work for cleaning with a small upgrade for scraping the walls. The walls should be cleaned from the bottom up and side to side instead of top down in a straight line.
The Walls aren't cleared most of the time to save the wear on the wear plates. and it's not like that dirt/ore isn't going to anywhere before you have to clean it. Just means you don't have to fork out a ton of cash to replace the plates each week. Also means less downtime due to having people in the dump pit replacing and fixing things.
Half the trucks have stone thats already crushed that makes no sense to me unless its a certain mix of two types of stone for the end product but whole thing isnt very efficient
Im sure they know very well what they are doing and how to go about it efficiently. The loads coming in from the right do contain some larger lumps so i dont think its already been through a machine, maybe its just smaller because of a different extraction process or more naturally broken seam.
This could be a cement factory where aggregate would need to be ground to dust. Mines normally have a number of crushers and then use a ball mill after the the stone is crushed to minus five millimeter for final sizing.
@@sion023 people on the internet always know best. reminds me of tourists hanging out while criticizing the supposedly bad work-ethics of the locals. :)

Can’t believe the time wasted playing “hook the rock” verses having a hydraulic hammer on a boom. The production uptime would pay for the hammer in a couple years.
Reminds me of the game me and my friend used to play it doesn't have a title but if it did it would be called 10,000 ways to slowly crush your balls. I won with a stick your balls on a railroad track with a train going a half a mile per hour or less over them... Ouch my balls hurt just thinking about it. That was the point of the game.

hahaha dudeeeee my thoughts exactly ♥
Fun fact. Sandworms aren't native to Arrakis which was a wet planet before they were introduced.
All those years of playing crane games in arcades prepared him for this.
This is actually a video of me grinding enough coffee in the morning so I can get through the day.
I don't drink coffee
These machines are insanely mind boggling to me. Having the power to chew thru boulder like its soggy cereal.
Generally applying a stupid amount of electricity to anything can destroy it.
@@richardpowell1425 I agree, it's turning the electricity into mechanical power is the amazing part.

Hey I know that guy. He's a nihilist.
Being the crane operator for this must be such a satisfying job.
Probably just me but that hook is hilarious.
like some melee weapon from TF2 lol
comically large fishhook
i think the hook is the star of the show
Whoever cut that out thought they did something great they lived in 2d tho
It just hard cuts and there's this giant novelty sized hook on a rope.

Is there video somewhere?
Every so often UA-cam starts recommending me rock crusher videos, and at this point I'm too afraid to ask why.
"Oi! New Kid! Get your self down there and give that rock a kick in!"
The torque in that thing must be off the charts 👀
That baby is putting out 11 ft pounds of crushing torque.
i cant believe i clicked on this thing and the sat through the entire thing mesmerized/.
same and no idea why, guess its a man thing

The tire of greatness and the hook of madness
Lets see cleaning of crusher sides. Love those
Thats insane how it destroys the Boulders like they're nothing.
Нравится это смотреть, особенно звук дробилки на холостых.
Every time I watch one of these videos I think there has to be a better way to clear the rock jams LOL

oddly satisfying to watch
Oh great, we have made mechanical sarlacc pits. :D
At first we also had a crane and a hook with our 50-65. Soon we got a hydraulic hammer. It is a must.
The hook & the rubber tire are a good team.

Worn out tires are free and they work plenty fast enough.
Are they filling up the earths core with gravel?
Now i want to see the enormous motor that powers it
Not really that big. It works on momentum.

Cone crushers need to be full to run effectively, more material helps force it down

Kind of a new take on the sarlacc pit, now Disney is selling out to the ore industries lol.
Just to put that vibratory to scale: That tire their suspending is 13' tall and five feet tall.
the real life sarlac pit :)
There's a company in Vermont that has an excavator (without the bottom) mounted above their crusher to clear shit like this
They makes these things called grates that don't allow over sized media into the crusher, maybe look into it...or keep messing around with the hook tire thing.
its not oversized though, just fell at the worng angle. end of the day, it needs to be crushed... so, in she goes.
this must be what paleontologists have nightmares about
Might be easier to invest in a jaw crusher upstream of this cone crusher to get rid of those large boulders.
rare footage of the real sarlac
Not the most efficient machine with all the stoppages due to getting jammed up.
