As a whole Hiya Toys Godzilla (2019) turned out to be fantastic! The sculpt is well done, the paint apps are great and Hiya Toys Godzilla (2019) is posable. The only issues I have with Hiya Toys Godzilla (2019), are the weathering between the scales and I would like a to see more articulation in the waist and upper chest. I absolutely recommend picking up Hiya Toys Godzilla (2019).

This line does things that Monsterarts straight up stopped caring about
Movie accurate sculpt
Stable joints
A passable paint job
A price that doesn't murder your wallet
Al true! And they do one more thing MonsterArts does not do: they improve their characters on subsequent releases.
Godzilla -removed the visible jaw pin and improved the neck.
Kong -the new Kong will have butterfly shoulders.

While I'm not looking for Hiya to replace MonsterArts, I sure am glad there's worthy competition to keep them in line for the future.

Im just happy for some competition against MonsterArts so they can stop taking advantage with their pricepoints.
Recently saw the GhidoGoji mould, I hope we get an articulated one and potentially having HiyaToys fill the Showa Era blanks we've been missing.
I wouldn't say Hiya will end SHMA's career, but it'll keep SHMA awake. They can't get away with sloppy work and no accessories if Hiya toy could do the same but much cheaper.

Hiya Toys sculpts with Tamashii Nations engineering would be peak, but as it stands they have a long way to go with articulation.
Ghidorah especially was way more limited than I’d hoped but he’s still awesome
Tbh I prefer hiya toys ghidorah over sh monsterarts, the colonization and sculpt is tbh to good and the articulation is great, you can even get ghidorah to fly or to crawl on all 4s! Maybe not as nimble on the neck but tbh I'm ok with that
I hope Hiya makes a Minus One Godzilla figure.
To my knollage, Hiya got a license to do some heisei godzilla stuff. I think they are making a statue and possible an articulated figure. Maybe in the future toho will give them free reigne over their kaiju
I hope Hiya would make more TOHO figures after their Heisei Godzilla releases. Im hoping they'll do Kiryu.
Man I hope they do Miregoji (Godzilla 2000) we need an accurate sculpt figure of that guy.
@@IvanRingle Yeah its weird how it technically never got a SHMA release. We do have "Godzilla Millennium" but its based on the concept art version, and has quite a few differences from the movie suit.

One thing I love about Hiya is the bigger size of their monster figures, and I'm excited for their 91 goji.

Surprisingly, the neck only comprised of a single long barrel dumbell joint. I know, I thought it was multiple jointed as well, until I popped the heck to check it myself

Actually, as someone who owns a copy of this figure, the torso joint has more range of motion than what you've shown here. You can even potentially spin it around 360, if you're daring enough. Just be careful when moving that joint for the first time, and of course, it won't be as crazy articulated as in SHMA Godzilla KOTM.
EDIT: I decided to find out why my copy is stiff on some joints on the tail, and I found that some of the dumbbell joints were superglued to the sockets, which shocked me to be honest. I had to gently, but firmly free those dumbbell joints, so that they can move on their sockets. Now the tail is able to do more natural curves. So, for those of you who have a copy of this figure and have stiff tail joints, check if the dumbbell joints have been superglued to the sockets
Do you have to pull the joint up or just twist hard?
@@DiegoDoom In my experience, you don't have to pull the joint up. Just twist it with a careful and consistently firm pressure. Alternatively, so that the dorsal plates don't clash with each other, you can crunch down the torso joint and then twist. The only joints I have problems with are some of the tail joints, which I find too stiff to allow tighter tail curve poses

I can only imagine s.h monsterarts is furious rn, also hiya has great customer service I got my hiya toys Godzilla 2019 in like two weeks and I’m in Australia so I was expecting a massive wait similar to when I ordered my first monsterarts figure from America. Didn’t cost me a lot either around 122 bucks including delivery which is still cheaper than any monsterarts figure

I just got my Hiya Toys Godzilla for the very first time and man,this is so much better then Monsterarts in terms of details.
If this new line of figures continues i want to see more of their work, what most impressed me was how accurate the figure is to the film, really amazing, i would like to see a 2014 Godzilla and a other monsterverse creatures in this line and also other kaijus. So let's see what happens next.
Their 2014 Godzilla figure is currently on pre-order, which will pair well with their Female MUTO figure. They've also recently revealed a prototype Heisei Godzilla figure

To me it looks like a hybrid between neca and sh monsterarts. I like it. I will definitely buy one someday (maybe not 2019, but definitly 2021 atomic breath version)
Aw man, I want to have this for my last Christmas which my mom ordered last year but it was delayed.
I finally got mine in but sadly the back fins were all warped to hell to one side, then while I was trying to heat the figure up to fix the fins one of the lower legs fell right off 😂 after glueing it back on it’s sturdy enough but it gave me a chance to see how the inner joints worked, ballpeg into a very tight ratchet where the lower knee is. Even with the foot off I had a tough time getting it to move.
Overall tho I still love the sculpt and heft but some of the inner joints are a bit worrying for me.

You can definitely get more range out of that waist articulation
Tbh the only downside is articulation, but paint app, accurate look and the PRICE, this is an obvious no brainer for any kaiju collector! my dream for them is to create Japanese versions now
They actually are releasing a Godzilla '91 and it looks incredible.
Hiya seems like the poster child of NECA and S.H Monsterarts. Having somewhat NECA joints and Monsterarts details. Glad that new collectors can buy a new Godzilla figure that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg compared to Monsterarts.

If you want a good MonsterVerse Godzilla either this one of the updated Godzilla Vs Kong version is the way to go or if you're like me creating a clan of Gojiras than well your wallet going to cry alot. Still the review was great.

I think the articulation can get a lot better with some heat work. Something Hiya will need to work on for future releases.
the wash in-between the scales seems to vary quite a lot between individual figures, on this one and some other reviews I have seen some with a lot of wash however my figure has very little which I am quite thankful for. Very much luck of the draw how much of the pink you get
Definitely! My copy had very little too so I was at first confused what everyone was talking about, especially around the belly area, but yeah the more reviews I watched the more thankful I am 🙏🏽

I think Hiya Toys MV Godzilla scales pretty well with SHMA Heisei Godzilla, since MV Godzilla is supposed to be bigger than Heisei

Hiya Toys are way better than sh monsterarts because instead of cranking out the same molds and repaints Hiya Toys actually listens to their customers by releasing brand new sculpts . Plus the quality is way better.

They'll probably won't do showa until SHMA stop focusing on showa. Iirc issa business thing. To maximize profit, license holder won't want two identical product competing at the same time. The reason why Hiya was greenlit on Heisei probably cuz SHMA has long done with Heisei, so the profit from bandai is taken. Yea, it's scummy, making you buy both. But business is business and let's be real here, we f*cking love it

I wasn’t aware you had to push the waist forward to get the torso articulation. What other points did I miss on this figure?
@@DiegoDoom arms, feet and tail move more, the arms often get stuck on the disk joint plastic lip, also waist can lean side to side and tilt, it's on a barbell

How do you know though? no offence but you shouldn't judge a figure immediately, you're claiming that this is "dogshit" even though you NEVER bought a Hiya Toys figure because unlike Tamashii Nations, Hiya actually listens to criticism and improves their figures which is something Tamashii should be doing if they actually listened to their customers complaints
