    Those Redfin are such a amazing looking perch! So different then the Yellow perch we have! I really hope one day to get a monster Redfin through the ice or even casting as you have done here as that looks like quite a fun time!

    Hey Ginge, invest in a #8 fly rod & give an intermediate line a whirl, you'll have a blast on the perch & pike with a light line

    that damage on the first chub looks like an otter bite..the otters on the Bristol Avon have scoffed all the waterbirds, all the Barbel,most of the trout and grayling in the upper stretches and most of the decent carp,bream and tench in the lower stretches..I frequently find dead fish and waterfowl with identical damage to that chub..just left to rot on the bankside.

    Nice guy, nice vie and no bull. I was wondering if you ever carry fish antiseptic like STERI-7 to treat damaged fish, just I have carried it for years thinking every little helps to protect our angling legacy. Oh btw someone like Spro should sponsor you, they have great tackle but all their vids are in jibba jabba 🇬🇧😊🎣✌🏻️🇬🇧

    Chris I'm surprised a lure company hasn't been in touch with you as you put out great content and have a fair amount of loyal followers like myself I love your videos if I was you I'd be ball'sie and get on to rapalla mepps savage gear the hole list tell them you have so many followers and will give their lures a fair judgement of what you think of them which will put your lures out in the public eye what have you got to lose and if they don't bite on that push for a discount of the price of their lures God loves a try'r lol

    Im currently quite new. Im running one of those leeda starter float kits 10ft float rod. Think I'm gonna use that as a ledger setup with small live or dead bait and then buy a ultra light micro jig setup of yours as my second rod. Also I need some glasses that you use . Thanks man.

    Hi I always enjoy your video’s even if it’s not the kind of fishing I normally do. You are very lucky having access to such a clear stream where you can target individual fish. You are making me jealous! By the way I thought you were sponsored by Fox, or has that ended? Bill

      The Ginger Fisherman Hi thank you for taking the time to reply. Glad to hear that you didn’t just grab the Fox deal, most would have, which is a subject I covered in my last video, so you can use what is right for you rather than what your sponsor wants you to promote! I enjoy your video’s very much as they cover a different style of fishing with different camera shots ie underwater. I for one get fed up with long pole tactics on commercials, so keep them coming please. Bill

    Really look forward to watching your content! Thank you 😬 I'm quite new to fishing and I'm interested in finding new spots to go to like the streams/rivers you fish that are shallow enough to wade in.. Have you any tips on how to or where to go to find them? I'm in Wakefield West Yorkshire and I fancy getting some waders etc and going exploring but I'm not sure where I'm allowed to?? Thank you and keep up the good work 👍🏼😁

      Freshwater license £30 for two rods = 12 month coverage
      Freshwater license £45 for three rods = 12 months coverage
      Disabled get £15 discount over both licenses and all are none commercial meaning only for personal consumption if you're taking fish and limits on both size and amount you can take for specific species such as trout or salmon.
      Public bodies of water that are open or common land meaning open to the public to put farming animals such as sheep if they choose are open all year round but I believe that if protected species are there then in and out season rules apply both with catch, size and if it's a fish that can be taken at all.
      You only need a license for the sea if you're fishing commercially but rules on both size and amount also apply to certain species in the sea such as bass.
      It makes sense why people in France have been protesting and rioting if you've got these changes just for fishing alone.
      Hope that's helpful @youtube user.

    • @PitchUpCampsiteReviews
      @PitchUpCampsiteReviews 5 років тому

      Privately owned bodies of water have their own rules and charge their own personal amounts for things like day tickets and if you're wanting to take a few fish home to eat.

    • @PitchUpCampsiteReviews
      @PitchUpCampsiteReviews 5 років тому

      No problem, happy to help and I'd have to disagree it's not that it's cheap because millions of people throughout the UK pay for fishing licenses each year so in my humble opinion I do find it disappointing how local councils can charge so much and do so little to maintain rivers and lakes.
      Mainland European nations are seriously over charged, if people actually sat down and thought about the millions upon millions council's rake in from the public just on fishing alone they'd see that none of us really get the services paid for.
      Fishing is the most popular sport in the world, you'd think governments would promote it more to get people out and being active.
      I don't think the money that's collected for fishing licenses is spent in the correct areas, let's take the Yukon river, untouched wilderness also unmanned waterways all left to nature.
      Of course that's not got the rubbish selfish individuals dump in rivers etc where we are but then we pay council tax for our local council to take care of everything from roads to waste disposal etc.
      They should and are responsible for their individual boroughs but all councils do a great job of misleading their patrons/public.
      I agree with a lot of the laws and rules with regards to catch size and if they're protected etc but I really don't see where these millions upon millions each year goes because private bodies of water are far far better kept than any public and the fund comparison isn't obscenely far from one another.
      One thing all countries need are more piers both in the sea and on lakes, I think the UK is struggling throughout the north for good piers and they really do help to open a lot of fishing up especially for disabled anglers.
      I don't see the evolution in fishing I personally expected here in the UK, I can't speak for mainland European countries because I've not lived in any to give an informed opinion but the UK is slowly declining.
      Piers across the north have just been left to fall and never be rebuilt.
      A really famous place used to be Rhyl or more commonly known in the UK as “sunny Rhyl" back in its day it was as popular as New Brighton, Blackpool, Skegness but these days it's a shell of its former self, it went down hip after its pier collapsed, Colwyn Bay is heading the same way and when Llandudno pier collapses which I'd give less than ten years that will be another great fishing mark gone.
      It's surprising how much difference a pier makes when people can get access to better deep waters.

    • @PitchUpCampsiteReviews
      @PitchUpCampsiteReviews 5 років тому

      I wish our lakes and rivers were so well kept, I don't know why I expect better from our government when we've been waiting over three years to leave the E.U. when the people voted on it democratically and still to this day no action only greedy people filling their pockets for all they can before people everywhere not just in France are kicking off.
      I'm still shocked that the tv is saying nothing really about what's going on in France but Venezuela on the other side of the world not even in Europe.
      I fish to try to forget about all this garbage then my great grandkids will have a good reason to be disgusted in me and the rest of us for not having enough courage to recognise and deal with those who engineer financial crashes every 15-25 years.
      I feel bad for the world we're all allowing to take shape for mine and others children.
      The only species on the planet to be enslaved by token finance, soon that will be changed completely to digital credits under the premise of better security.
      What could possibly go wrong with a currency system that's 100% digital haha.
      I give it another 10 -15 years at the most before we see another global recession or at the very least a world changing event like 9/11 to both heavily tax the public for “better security" and on the plus side give governments even more control over its citizens when in reality it's not the people who work for the government it's supposed to be the other away around.
      One on my has to apply the same logic that makes us lock our doors and windows to our homes, the public pay politicians 40 maybe even 100k a year.
      So who has the most influence over a politician the public who pay them 100k a year at the most or multi billionaire and trillionaires who own their own multinational corporations who can filter a few million into an offshore bank account like it was pocket changes?
      Common sense tells my and unbelievable amounts of factual evidence that governments don't work for their people they just say and do what they want and for a bit of peace and to not rock the boat we all put up with it.
      France has had enough, I'm sure that mentality will spread when people stop living in fantasy worlds in their heads like I do and try to pretend none of it is really going on.
      You should see the blank look on people's faces when I tell them to Google Boeing directed energy and explain that all bombs and missiles used and produced over the past forty years were and still are obsolete.
      Most deny direct energy systems even exist let alone have for over forty years, most haven't got a clue that their extremely primitive microwave ovens are factually a directed energy system and the clue is in its title “micro wave".
      Extortion on a global scale to the cost of millions of lives over the past four decades and trillions in finance, there's not a western nation that isn't in unrecoverable debt yet the obsolete bombs and missiles never stop firing.
      When I say things shouldn't cost a third of what they do throughout most of the world it's based on some harsh but accurate facts, pretty disturbing as well because I don't see a way through.
      Just how much passing the buck will the public take before we all say enough is enough and make a fresh start without the war hungry maniacs hell bent on using finance to strip the lives and labour from good hard working people.
      Pretty sure this isn't the reality our great grandparents would have been proud of, they knew what real sacrifice was and the necessity in sometimes having to make the ultimate sacrifices.
      Politicians are like a virus, they move from host to host making everything worse wherever they go.
      Anyway you've heard enough of me rant on, probably best getting back to pretending it's not going on.
      Have a good evening.

    Just out of interest, what weight jig head were you using on these micro plastics. I've been using a 1 gram jig head on my tiny baits, but I've noticed that the lures rise a fair bit off the bottom when I crank the reel rather than hugging the bottom, so would I be better going heavier?

    • @jonraggett4093
      @jonraggett4093 4 роки тому +1

      Using small lures, you should wind slowly and twitch a lot anyway. If you are winding slow, and the lure is still well off bottom (because it's deep) then maybe use a 2g or 3g jig head.
