I seem to relate to evey bloke lure fishing in this comment section from the UK. I primarily fish the Shropshire Union canal, one week I may cash 8-15 perch in a session !! The next three weeks I'll catch nothing but streamer weed and a duck....(duck was unharmed) I'm so jealous of the Americans the bass fishing over they're looks fantastic and the stocks mean every session is a screamer!

Nice one ! I had a go on my canal today I’m a sea angler normally but with the bad weather decided to have a go for the pike and perch ! No perch but had 3 pike and lost one watched a few of your vids yesterday definitely helped 👍 would love a big perch something special about them
Beauty of a Perch! Just smashed my PB Perch a couple of days ago! Went from 41.5cm to 49cm!! Couldn't weigh it though due to the curfew we have here in the Netherlands, litterly had 15mins left to unhook and get home lmao
@@jakemyers11 cant say it makes much difference to hook up rates but it is especially effective with the soft 4play lure that dan caught the perch on 👍

Great video, i am still very much a novice to lure fishing and i wanted to ask, i noticed you set the hook through the side rather than the top of the lure. Is that a specific way to target perch at this time of year?
Know that feeling, haven't had a fish this year on 5 lure sessions. Went today near Sharpness and blanked.... One pencil pike hit early but didn't see anything else on any lure :(
mate dont even go there ive had a 3 inch perch since november mid december ive been BFS fishing mostly but ive tried for pike lures and deadbait and im losing the will to fish !
@@keytanndobson4566 happy to report that I went out yesterday and caught a hard fighting 8lber, long and lean..... On a tiny little Mepps no3 casting under the nearside canal bank targeting Perch :)

@@lukehowles1949 i think his issue was the amount of time it was out of the water rather than rough handling thou saying that perch are not large-mouth bass and your liable to dislocate their bottom jaw holding them like that

I tend to do my lure fishing out at sea during the winter months as ive had a lot more success and it saves a blank 🙌
