The beauty of this is not only that the song is beautiful. It is that these four people are in harmony. After a thousand hours of practice, it all comes together, and they are together in harmony.

Well, we just recorded a full Acoustic CD (LUNA Live & Acoustic in Berlin). Right know, we did rehearse this song Karuna, aswell as other great Acoustic songs for the coming LUNA TOUR. Maybe we never left that sound, but always had Acoustic songs, but also songs with electronic and other elements??? best wishes, FAUN
Oliver Pade I'm very glad to hear that ! Especially because Karuna has always been one of my favourite Faun tunes. Actually I was not thinking about electronics, that have been part of the sound of Faun from the beginning (except the acoustic songs, I know, but I mean all the other ones) and that I really like. I'm talking about the way of arranging the tunes, that has turned into something more and more medieval-pop, which sounds much more "easy", common (the pulse of the electronics for example), very far away from the first deep, simple, beautiful, pure, rythmic and authentic sound of Faun that so many fans including me loved so much a few years ago. And it's that sound we are asking to come back, not only the old tunes but also the way of playing, performing them. Because we are sad of this evolution. Sincerely, E.Waldken
+Oliver Pade You, sir, are amazing. I just discovered your music recently and it lifts up my spirit and inspires me. You play the harp beautifully as well. :)
Strange how This Celtic Music can Take you through the Memories you've never had to the Places you've never been in a time you never could've existed...
I lost track of my CD years ago, I'm so glad I found their music once again here on UA-cam! Their music brings me so much peace and happiness. I don't know their language but their instrumental versions translate well into 'music language' for everyone to enjoy. 🌼 ❤️ ❤️ ❤️
The time signature is so hard to follow along with lol. These guys have got a ton of skill to be playing this in 5/8 with cheeky little stops in the middle of the song.
The harmonious melodic synergy of improvised and ad libb 'free expression' duet and composuring whether pre styled or partially rehersed and / or then taken from form and given over into musical speech is beautifully interwovenly tonal and harmoniced/ lyrically melodious in progression and voice(s). Congratulations on such a wonderous work!
Merci FAUN
Way back when - 1967 - Grace Slick played the recorder for Jefferson Airplane's great psychedelic folk song "Comin' Back to Me". That gave the instrument gravitas for me.
0 germans are europeans. I can asure you of this since i am german my self. The word harp comes from harpa which is an old germanic word. The roman historian tacitus discribed the harp as a germanic instrument. It has a big place in germanic mythologie as well. As the instrument of the elven it was considered as holy and only priests were alowed to play it. For the lyra i can say that in the greek mythologie there is one of the greek gods who is playing the lyra. And in the legend it is said that the god got the lyra as an offering from the northic (probably germanic) people. As for flutes. The oldest flute found by archeologists was found in northern germany the recorder was developed during the renaissance in europe.. drums had a big part in old germanic music too. one can say everything about this music is european. Or if you think of that as to general germanic.
Just learned of your music this week. I do not speak German but love translating the words. Even if I can't though they transcend the language barriers. :) Love your stuff! Deeply appreciating your gifts to us.
I imagine that would be the best of both worlds. And I just noticed this video is missing Niel Mitra, a.k.a. the cute electronic beats guy/Mr. Happy Dreadlocks. Dude, where'd you go, Niel? :P
Algo completamente ancestral... Algo de varias vidas atrás... Es muy emocionante escuchar estas melodías... Canciones una más bella que la anterior...

Reading that made my day.
Thank you for sharing and yes this is how fairytale sound

From the times where Faun was a great band. Excellent song, and beautiful video!

so true, you described perfectly what I feel
Their genres are Pagan Folk, Neo-Medieval, Folk Rock, and Darkwave, not Celtic.
But yes absolutely ☺
@@MoriKitsune Funny, because that looks a lot like a Celtic harp with Celtic knots. But, nothing Celtic about it. Right?
@@jaymcdude1291 Guitars are Spanish, and yet they can be used to play Bluegrass, an American genre. Funny how that works :)

The time signature is so hard to follow along with lol. These guys have got a ton of skill to be playing this in 5/8 with cheeky little stops in the middle of the song.
LaRaikaa so true!
How'd you figure out that it was 5/8?
Is it actually 5/8? Sounds more like 3/4 to me.
Ah, it actually shifts from one to the other throughout the composition. Nice.
Try counting the confusing bit out to 10, its easier. Probably musically incorrect but easier to follow as it gives a better feel for the bars.
This is incredible music! It's beyond words really.
