The Dratini episode was especially damning because this is where Ash caught 30 Tauros. I can just imagine a bunch of kids being so confused that Ash suddenly had over 2 dozen bulls running around.
Honestly? I really didnt care back then and never thought about it. But I found it very cool that he had the tauros
It was, but I figured I just missed the safari zone episode. Then found out I didnt just miss it, it was just never aired.

It doesn't make sense to me that 4kids would decide not to dub the entire episode when they could have just edited the scene. They did it in One Piece all the time, don't get why they didn't do it here.
i weirdly remember watching it, and actually liked the episode because he caught those 30 tauros xD
Fun fact: There are two cities in the Gold SpaceWorld demo that strongly resemble Canalave and Snowpoint Cities. So it seems that new Pokémon evolutions weren't the only thing that DP recycled from that demo.
It was frustrating watching the dub as a young child with no internet access, since I was never able to figure out where the hell Ash got his Tauros 😂
Seeing all the cut designs from gold silver are still so cool, it's crazy that they ended up being leaked so many years later.
Also, if I remember correctly, every pokemon design, even if they go unused, are still kept in a sort of "vault", so the pokemon company probably has access to official artwork for all of these cut designs.
Consider perhaps a Nuzlocke with only pokemon that naturally learn nuzzle? You could call it a Nuzzlelocke
Another piece of lost media would be the 2-part episode from the Black and White (Best Wishes) series. The plot is similar to what was shown during Episode N arc, but instead of Reshirem, there was Zekrom. Basically Team Plasma and Team Rocket were against each other and wanted to capture Zekrom. These episodes were delayed to the earthquake and tsunami that occurred in Japan at the time but neither of these episodes released anywhere. There are some screenshots and the trailer/preview showing what the episodes were going to be about.

@@ElectroBlastLuigi sucks sometimes that real life events cause lost media to be created sometimes. Though in the case with the 2011 earthquake and tsunami it's understandable.
Because of the earthquake they shafted Plasma until way later in the show but completely botched the plot

Spaceworld demo region is based on all of Japan, not just the Kansai inspired Johto in the final games. You can even see towns that resemble Canalave and Snowpoint.
I noticed that when these demos leaked. I actually prefer the old gen 2 map from the one we got in the final game. Though i suppose that the map in the beta was planned on being used because at the time gold and silver was suppose to be the last games in the series.
@@lightyagami3492 Gold and Silver were only the second so them planning them to be the last means they never thought Pokemon would grow like it did XD we like 8.5 gens deep now
I never believe any rumours where someone buys a script or unreleased game and then never releases it to the public. It's like, what's the point?
The guy who leaked the Spaceworld demo hacked Nintendo servers directly. Plus it matches up with so many beta things that ended up in later media and with what we knew of the 97 demo already. It's as legit as can be.

I don’t think that they would ban Pikachu. That would kind of ruin the whole thing.
It was actually the fault of the antivirus program for launching the missiles which exploded, not of any Pokemon.

I'd be really interested in a full analysis of the SpaceWorld demo, especially theories about the unreleased mons and, where applicable, what might've been inspired by those designs.
The cultural impact of the Porgyon episode is such that the Simpsons referenced it in their Simpsons go to Japan episode.
Love the different kinds of Pokémon stuff you put out to not lock yourself into the nintended stuff, and this was super interesting stuff. Glad to see your channel continue to grow.
I upload every Saturday and only do Nintended videos once a month, so 3 out of 4 videos I upload are videos like this
Even to this day i'll never understand how Ash got 30 Tauros all by himself. Also man it's unfair how Porygon got the banned treatment all these years for something that wasn't his fault.

Actually, Ash only caught 29 of those Tauros, Brock caught one and gave it to him.
I remember watching a video about how some of the props for Pokemon Live were actually found in an abandoned theater.
I have really vague memories of playing the Pokémon Learning League when I was 8, omg. It so weird to see someone talking about it, I thought it was just a fever dream I had.
Definitely going to be checking it out again for the nostalgia alone lol.

Man the beta stuff just brings Pokemon G/S 97 Reforged to mind. They basically remade Gold and Silver with all the Beta pokemon and the entire beta region, and a bit more! It's so cool!

From the Gen 5 games? I wouldn't say they're lost but it's fine if anybody else wanted to call it "lost media". The website that had these minigames had shut down years ago along with a handful of Pokemon flash games that used to be on the main website. I remember you can even customize your own avatar. CandyEevie made a video on this topic.
I remember that ad for Pokemon Learning League! I think it came in a mini Pokemon magazine they were handing out at GameStop during the time between the end of the Hoenn era and the beginning of Sinnoh. I remember asking my dad to look into it and he told me it was a paid thing only. If only I'd found out a little sooner, apparently...
I actually really like the beta Fire starter. Mainly the first and middle stage cause the final one's sprite work is funky looking. I honestly wouldn't mind if we got those 2 over Cyndaquil and Quilava even though I love what we turned out with. Beta Bayleef can burn in a fire though.

In the version we actually got, my favorite stage for all three starters is the 2nd. Don't like the final forms of any of 'em. (I do like Chikorita a lot though.)

I remember rumors about some banned/missing Pokémon Episode from back in the day that isn't talked about much today. In short, there's an Episode somewhere in the Johto saga where Ash and friends meet a witch and he is turned into a Pikachu. He remains that way until the end of the Episode, but immediately returns to his human form at the start of the next. The rumors claimed that inbetween those two Episodes, there is a missing episode where Ash remains a Pikachu for the entire duration.
There's an edited version of the Porygon episode to watch it without seizures if anyone wants to know

If anyone's interested, I actually have information about Pokemon Learning League. I don't have any physical copies, but I do know about some of the plots of the lost episodes.

I forget where I saw it but there is a video out there talking about the original plot for the third Pokemon movie. It involves a fossil being unearthed and coming back to life, just walking in a straight line while destroying everything in its path. The original writer for the series took a lot of drugs and didn't take aging too well.
Yeah, the guy tried to make pkmn movies a little more mature and interesting, but Nintendo always tied his hands...
Isn't that the same person who made Lugia? I remember watching a video on Lugia's origin and it involved a guys who did a hell of a lot of drugs (or at least that's what I remember). I know this is a bit late, but do you remember where you saw this?

It's so weird realizing Pokemon technically had an entry on the SNES. Pokemon has always been an N64/Gameboy/GBC-era game for me, but technically it came out when the Super Nintendo (or i guess i should say super Famicom) was still in circulation and people even played the original on a super Gameboy with color.
I don't know if anyone cares but the guy who plays James in Pokemon Live is called Andrew Rannels and has been in a musical called Falsettos, apparently the actor never really liked being in Pokemon Live though

I’m surprised the entire scrapped plasma plotline for the anime wasnt mentioned(unless it was and I just zonked out)!
(BW023-024) They were basically building up a whole gang war between team rocket and team plasma but it was scrapped due to the Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami, and the Fukushima nuclear disaster. If I remember correctly, they even changed the ending of the Venipede Stampede episode for the dub.

I think Veronica said the Porygon episode wasn’t dubbed, so people would stop asking about it. She was probably being sensitive to what happened to the Japanese children that were sent to the hospital.
Just a theory what if all the actors were telling the truth on the porygon episode. If I remember correctly how dubbing works each actor is called in at different time to dub the episode. What if those 2 actors were called in and finished their parts but the reason Veronica said they didn't dub was because the production was cancelled before she was called in due to Japan banning it worldwide.
Just a thought on the confusion involving that.

I absolutely SWEAR I saw a dubbed version of the porygon episode uploded to some sketchy site around 5 ish years ago. I was actally looking at some banned content stuff and decided i wanted to watch that episode and did end up finding an englsh version somewhere. I desperately wish I couöd remember exactly where but oh my god I absolutely swaer on my life here. I guess Ill go hunting aroudnd older internet archives, because I know that Ive 100% seen an english version at some point

@@Hauntaku It doesn't look enough like the Sneasel we actually got. For one thing, it actually vaguely resembles a weasel in some way, and for another you would be able to infer some sort of ice typing from it. If anything, its appearance more likely played into Mienshao later on.

And with how aggressive is Nintendo and GameFreak is with their IP we will see more and more Lost Media thanks to Nintendo shady business decision, heck make me cannot transfer my older pokemon to Sword and Shield without paying online subs then make almost half of moveset gone is already lost media.
