have the 2008 trimmer so I tried using the 2 blade as recommended in vid. Snapped in easily and made sure in correctly. 10 seconds later blades were broken off. Junk. Doesnt matter what this guy says. Mine has always given me problems regardless of all the U tubes and trouble shooting I use. Im glade you guys like yours but mine is junk and I moved on too a much better unit.
I have an Ryobi trimmer and the guard came preset but I get pelted with debris every time I use it. Wonder if there is a bigger guard available or if I can adjust it so I don’t get hit every time I trim? My Toro gas trimmer was much better in terms of protection.
Absolutely love it.. does my edging in no time and i have a corner house. I have one question though.. can i remove the bump head cover off ? It blocks my view ?
I’ve seen some lawn channels that DO remove it so they can, like you said, see better. Just wear protective glasses and long pants so you don’t get hurt if debris flies up and hits you.
My guard only fits at one point so I can't move it around. I nearly always get hit in the face by debris, is this because I am using it wrong? I have a petrol whipper snipper that I can add other attachements too.
My Ryobi 40022 is continually feeding and I'm not pressing/depressing to make it feed. It feeds automatically causing the line to go out so much and wrap around the head ... Any ideas what might be wrong?
@@mgabrell4199 pull the feeder head out and then pop out the little gray piece underneath. Once you get that out, pop all of the little weights out and then super glue the piece back in place. You'll have to manually feed the string out from now on, but it's better than having it wrap around the head
I saw another video just now that I am going to try next time: On the spool feed the line out about 30cm attach it to one of the little hook holes, the same hole that the line is hooked up to a new spool.
I still don't like the Autofeed. I often turn release the trigger while moving to a new spot and end up using a lot of the line. Do they expect us to constantly hold down the trigger even while walking around the yard?
I discovered that you can disable the auto feed by putting a short stick in to prevent the spring moving, though it does mean you need to manually feed out the line repeatedly while working...
@@sandrinakeffufal6008 I have heard about these hacks. It is ridiculous to need them. The first time I did my yard work the spool was chewed up in 30 minutes. Why should I have to fix a design flaw to use the machine?
You know what the problem is with the Expnd it trimmer attachment? It turns the wrong way. May be fine for trimming, but the only way it adjusts for edging makes it throw the trimming back at you. This needs redesigned to allow the trimmer to be turned in the opposite direction for edging, so the trimmings will be thrown clear.
You're so bad at stating compatible head/spool assembly replacement part , what head is compatible with olt1833bl trimmer ? RAC1207 looks compatible and you have NOT listed on website or packaging, but on this video title it seems compatible, total contusion
I have a Ryobi RLT36 (made in 2013) and the shaft has a join just below the handle for the left hand (or for the hand not on the power lever) which is off-white in colour - sometimes this becomes loose. There is an electrical join within this and the electrical join can be disrupted if not screwed together firmly. This has happened several times to me. Just tighten it up by twisting/screwing it back together. I find fixes this problem. However, the problem with *my* unit is that is will not issue line automatically (and my RLT36 is designed to be an automatic feed). I have owned it since 2013 and the feed has never worked properly. Disappointing.
Your manuals are very confusing. Please do a video installing the guard. How can you say its the very most important part of the trimmer and not show how to freaking put it on? This is a waste of time. Meanwhile many people are returning this POS because its not working at least we dont know why!
This is a great video! It has helped me out with the information and tips

How do you get line out that's stick inside a bump feed? Cannot feed new line in

Did you ever figure your problem out? I am having the same issue.
Same here
@@ronpowers2947 not yet. Reached out to the company and they were no help.

How do I disable the auto feed “feature”?
Aka auto feed “flaw”

I have the 40v HP and the blade keeps hitting the guard. It doesn’t seem adjustable. Idk what to do.
one side of my line keeps going back inside. anyway to fix that?

@@jspenny yes you are right but jeez better than using up the spool faster than the battery lol
Mine didn't even come with a guard? Brand new in the box.

Why does it run then stop? The battery is fully charged. Its a brand new trimmer.
Did you end up figuring out what was causing your trimmer to run and then stop repeatedly with a fully charged battery?
Same problem

Dude u gotta wear some earmuffs for a noisy job like that, trust me I know what I’m talking about. Thank me later
Absolutely useless video. No trouble shooting was done at all.
That shit stop working
