That happened to me once. I rang to speak to a guy I'd been dating - his brother answered, disappeared, then came back saying "Martin's gone out". I asked what time he'd be back and he shouted: "Martin, she wants to know when you'll be back". True story --- so, yes, there are some stupid people out there.

Grandad had some of the best lines in the show 🤣
He is actually more boring and Albert is way better than Grandad Trotter,Grandad Trotter also never breaks out any jokes either in the episodes that he is in

Del Boy Rodders and Grandad were the best… The show settled down a bit after Uncle Albert Cassandra and Raquel joined the family… The first 3 seasons are flawless

I think there are 3 great comedy shows the BBC produced. Only fools and horses, outnumbered and not going out. These three are in a league of their own
No fawlty towers, porridge, steptoe and son and the good life 👍

I much preferred grandad, Albert was good but also a forced, over the top character who relied on catchphrases and a trademark laugh. Grandad was so believable, the old loafer who had a rich history of messing up and could make you howl without leaving his chair...the 'half caste' line and 'marking the cards' both spring to mind.
Despite being a Londoner, Albert's accent was false or put on.
Uncle Albert was brilliant too. He was unfortunate that he would be compared to grandad and most definitely had his moments too ie falling down the cellar. They all played their part in making the greatest sitcom ever and forever ever! Legends the lot of them
