Thanks for the memories! I had a 1974 in a dark olive green with 225 slant six. I took my drivers license exam during a blizzard in 1981 and as part of the test I had to back into an alley. It had 18 inches of snow. I slammed the “staff car” into the alley at full speed in reverse and it came to a stop with the nose just inside the sidewalk. When the examiner stopped laughing, we wallowed our way out of the alley and back to the DMV station. Things were different back then. I had that car for another 7 years!
Had a '75 Dart Custom. 225 w/ 4 speed overdrive transmission. Front disk brakes. BEST CAR I EVER OWNED! If they started building them again today, I'd be the first one in line! So much better than the crap they're slogging out today.
Great video. Most videos of old cars just show the person firehosing the video camera around the car, with lots of shaking. I give you credit for shooting different types of video scenes and editing it together. You did a good job portraying daily life in a Michigan winter with an older car.
Bought a '76 Valiant V8 that is really clean & solid (no rot). It was cheap, going to have fun building it into an A38 clone with some deviations. It is hilarious these days how people react to just seeing it out puttering around
For many years after Chrysler stopped building the Dodge Dart and the Plymouth Valiant, they were two of the most sought after used cars in the country.
We had a 74 Plymouth Scamp. Twasn't much difference, other than the catalytic converter (or did Chrysler's lean burn exempt them for a few more years?). I remember my mother picking it up from my great-uncle's dealership in Floyd, VA, because dad was serving his final summer in the reserves. Uncle Woody disconnected that front seat buzzer before we even took it off the lot.
Hey man, do you still have this Dart? This video was so nostalgic to me, brought back so many good memories. I got around town and between cities with my uncle when I was a little kid in the same car, same color. Wow…
Thank you for posting it. Any chance you remember which state it went to? You can email me at Arazito1@yahoo.com if you have details. This is amazing, same exact car, I haven’t seen one in SoCal. His was the ‘76 model with orange lights in the front instead of clear. Other than that it’s the exact same one.
Car looks very good with the bottle caps. Seems like it is still taking care of its owner. I can imagine if you included "Life In The Fast Lane", Henley would holler, and UA-cam would copyright strike this video. But seems to be no problems with Bee Gees or CSN.
Yo dude 🚹like 👍and love 💘your 🚗 Hold on to it As long as you can I have a 1976 Dodge dart swingers slant six My daily driver I love my car And enjoy it everyday😄
The Dodge Dart didn't like moisture. If it was a rainy day or heaven forbid you drove through a deep puddle, I don't think you'd wanna idle at a red light. LOL. How much oil do you use? I assume you're topping that off once a month. :-)
This car looks like it has hardly any rust, just a small area in the lower left quarter panel. I'm not sure why you'd want to drive an old car that appears to be very nice through road salt. It ruins them. You can never get all the salt spray off the underside completely. Your brake lines rust. Your nuts and bolts under the hood will rust and make them difficult to remove. I never use my old cars from Thanksgiving through Easter. I want them to last. It would be better to have a cover for it if it's being stored outside. Storing inside is a lot better.
Like the drifting in the snow, reminds me of me in the 70's driving my '68 Fury, set of snows, go anywhere.
Beautiful car.....brings back a lot of memories....thanks for the vid!
Wonderful car..........music thanks for the memorizes!

That is literally my dream car
Memories of the 70s, my childhood, thank you. I remember these and the 75 Dart special edition in burgundy. Bee Gees playing, truly thank you

I agree, this was a quality production. From 2:40 on, it's like watching a movie.
dang, thanks guys. I do appreciate that!
That car is virtually identical to my very first company car I had in Wisconsin 1974-1976…memories! 😊
Great songs for the drive.
Muy bien conservado..felicidades!!

Fresh air floor vents, not through a "warm" hvac! Front vent windows; pure comfort!!
2door coupe are sometimes expensive but 4 door sedan are affordable you can transform it into anything you want

I sold this a few years ago. I'm happy you liked the video. It is a fantastic car.

Awww man driving her thru the salt 😞 But she’s a survivor 👍
Nice video. Need to get the front seat passenger to buckle up.
Cuánto puede costar un carro así en estás condiciones?
Great retro to when you didn’t need a computer degree to work on one
😍😍😍

ROFLLLL! My first car, a 68 Dart was driven year round , even in the snow, and never had a problem
Going to make it rust faster

Cars are meant to be driven.
I drive my 71 dart all year long
Must be a granny car with really low mileage
