    I bought one, it has been great so far. Automatic/CVT, icy cold air conditioning, cruise control, a bit of cargo space, great fuel mileage, and an excellent warranty. I got everything I needed without being roped into paying for a bunch of stuff that I don't. I plan to drive it until the wheels fall off, lol.

    I have a 2017 Mirage G4 5-speed that I bought new. It now has 122k miles on it. It has needed four different things since I bought it: Oil changes, tires, spark plugs and front brake pads. It has been completely trouble free and still gets about 40 mpg. Thanks for making a real review of the car instead of just crapping on it. 👍
    One of the interesting things about this car, is you can get any color on any trim level - at least that was true in 2017.

    I have the limited edition 2024 Mirage. I love this car,has pretty wheels tinted windows fog lights & a lot more yes cruise control. I had one in 2014 my son had one. The 24 is perfect for me. I had a 20 Hyundai venue & I got rid of it cause all I got from it was recalls. You can turn this car around so easy ,I just can’t say anything bad but I am a senior. Very satisfied with the car.😊

    You are right about getting used to its slow off the line acceleration; but its not really the end of the world when getting out into traffic, yes, its slower only off the line, but with crowded traffic conditions just about all the time, you really wont notice it, especially once you are on the freeway, at any speed over 45 mph, the acceleration, while already doing say 65 mph you'll hit 80mph just 3 seconds later, so although the initial roll is placid, its not all that bad! Also the engine noise at cruise is quiet, only when you floor it will you hear it! All in all, its got a tolerable ride, excellent visibility, super reliable and very maneuverable, Ive had my new 2023 ES model for 4 months now and have gotten 53 mpg with the CVT. There is simply no other car out there that does its basic transportation duties as well as this one does!

    • @Ichibuns
      @Ichibuns 21 день тому

      I've seen Mirage's with over 400k miles on original CVTs and engines. I averages 55 mpg in the Mirage I had rented. My Corolla's engine died just after 100k miles while we have 2 KIA's with over 300k miles. My 2021 Tundra needs $4k to fix a cam tower leak. Toyota reliability is mostly myth. The real difference is the customer bases behind them. After talking to mechanics, Toyota owners are more just likely to get their vehicles serviced which leads to longer lifespans.

    I am trying to get one of these. Also, I need to note. The tire noise can be improved a ton with better tires. Like the Bridgestone tires.
    I also need to note, the EPA's MPG is about right with a medium heavy foot. But if you drive conservatively, you can manage about 50 MPG on average.

      @palebeachbum Рік тому +2

      I owned one of these for 4 years and could only get 50mpg if I hypermiled it. I don't have a lead foot. With a light foot in city/suburban driving it got 40-46mpg, which was fantastic. On the interstate at 70mph it was getting 43-45mpg, which isn't great. Bigger, faster cars like Corolla get the same. The little engine works very hard at higher speeds.

    • @jesuscarrillo4344
      @jesuscarrillo4344 Рік тому +1

      @@palebeachbum I got 34-36 city and 38-40 highway when I had my 2018. Do you get Hella people road raging if you hyper mile? It seems like someone was always on my ass even if I drove it like I had somewhere to go. 76 hp wide open is like a Carolla or a Civic at 1/3 throttle.

    • @palebeachbum
      @palebeachbum Рік тому +1

      @@jesuscarrillo4344 in crawling stop and go city traffic with the AC on I got 30mpg at the worst. Cruising around town doing 30-45mph with careful throttle I got 46mpg. Out on open interstate cruising at 70mph I was getting 43mpg. Yep, people would road rage at me all the time when I'd be driving reasonably without pushing the engine too hard. People would literally tailgate me in the right lane and honk at me when I was at or above the speed limit. Happened on 3 different occasions. I'd also get honked at the split second the red light turned green. Absolutely no reason to be honking at me. It's like people see a tiny car and they just have to bully the driver. It made me feel very unsafe in my Mirage, which was a shame because I loved it.

    • @jesuscarrillo4344
      @jesuscarrillo4344 Рік тому +1

      @@palebeachbum I don't think it's really a tiny car problem. It's an entitlement problem. My ST will do +14 mph per second if I'm wide open. I know for fact that dealing with normal every day traffic, it would blow the doors off of 90+% of vehicles here. I got tail gated yesterday on city streets doing 42 in a 35. Driver moved to the right, tailgates the BMW in the other lane, then cuts me off. I was on cruise control so it's not like I accelerated to close the ever so small gap.
      We come to a red light. Light turns green and she accelerates slower than the BMW and what I would have. I get around her while she is at 28 mph after the BMW puts about a bus and a half on her and get back in the left lane and she tail gates me again and I'm doing 47 in a 40 now as the speed limit increased after the light. I don't accelerate hard as the car is rated at 24 city and I get 26-27 mpg by keeping it under 3k rpm. People are just shit...

    I had a 2017 with a manual transmission I bought new OTD for about $11K. The price has went up so much in a short time for basically the same exact car. Same engine, just different front end and a couple of added features. You can't get a manual anymore, and I don't like CVT's in an underpowered car like this. Too bad, because it is a highly reliable engine and it is cheap to do maintenance on, but a CVT is a ticking time bomb if you don't do filter and fluid changes every 30K miles witch is pretty expensive.

    For 17-20k, you could buy used single owner luxury cars with low miles, such as the Lexus Rx350, Infiniti G37, or most Corollas or other reliable cars with very low miles, why buy a low quality, low power golf cart Mirage.

      Worse as far as what?? The point of buying this car is for lowest price new car and reliability to last the longest without maintenance and repair cost. Not everyone is looking to pay for luxury or sportiness. For that you can't beat this deal, even a decent used car will cost this much, but without the reliability, warranties and with a whole lot of mileage.
