Hey mini family! There were over 200 hobby setups to roast, so I'm sorry if we didn't get to yours! If you like this video idea, we can certainly do it again sometime in the future, so let me know!
You definitely should do another one in the future
Yeah make it an ongoing series👍
Do another one! So I can throw mine in there haha
hell yeah was a lot of fun to watch
There was some good tips too I'm going to get some glass doors this weekend. Definitely do this again!
If this turned into a monthly series I'd watch every single episode without fail.
Make this a series. Im telling you. Im still laughing at some of these riffs.
Are you going to do a Part 2? I'm sure you have enough content. Also, thanks Amber for showing the love!
Depends on the response to this video but probably sometime in the future!
This is making me feel SO MUCH better about my house in general, not just my (currently disassembled) hobby space. Here I thought I was disorganized and messy. Some of these were straight up giving me anxiety.
Edit: also, if you don’t get a cat bed for your desk, the cat lays on your wet palette instead… I use the same solution, LOL.
I love how in some moments this video turned into "Amber roasts Scott's dreams". You guys are great
I am flabbergasted every time I see resin printers with little to no ventilation. Y’all are crazy
For sure man, people are way too lax when it comes to fumes. I see it with enamels and white spirits/oil paints all the time too.
Yep, proper safety info should come with the printers, majority of people don't even bother with proper research because they think of it like an appliance.
And airbrushing, very few people I've seen use even basic safety precautions and its pretty nuts
This is one of my favorite videos in your channel. laughed way more than I should have. You guys make a great team.
Amber is a gem. This was hilarious!
Excited that I made the cut and appeared in the vid. And you didn't say anything bad!
This is a great video as it shows how to creatively squeeze more stuff into small area.
Yay I'm on a Miniac video! \o/
Absolutely hilarious! Also cool seeing that other people also struggle a bit with their setups...
10/10 as usual
Todo brasileiro sofre um pouquinho com o “cantinho da Acrilex”! Hahahahaha… Estou tentando organizar melhor lá em casa também!
My Brazillian partner immediately saw the Portuguese on the boxes and sympathized with your struggle, hahaha, they wanted to offer to help with some supplies on their next trip back, if you'd like.
Minha parceira brasileira immediatamente viu o Portugues na caixa e se empatizou com a dificuldade, hahaha, e queria ofecer ajuda com alguns acessorios de pintura na proxima viagem que ela fizer ao Brasil, se voce quiser.
I love little interlude videos like this so please, do more!
Woot! That's me at 19:16 ! I'm retired and have adhd so.. yeah. I have a LOT of hobbies. xD The compressor actually isn't that loud, if you can believe it! Also, I mostly use it during the day when I'm the only one home so it doesn't really bother anyone. Except maybe the cats.
I’d like to see a part two or three with the rest of the submissions. This was fun.
Please bring back the Mrs. and do more vids like this. This was comedic GOLD!!!
"I'm not nice to you" Amber ruthless as always 😂
Best solution I’ve stumbled across to save desk space is nail polish acrylic racks. Cheap, easily installed, and clear plastic so you can see the paint bottles clearly
20:50 That Skadis board, the 3D printed organizers, pair of LED camera lights. Love this setup. Clean.
Hey Scott, I'm the 13yr old! Thanks for including my setup!
Love this kind of simple, fun and community driven content.
Love seeing the support of, while also heckling, SO. Hope there will be more of this in the future!
I would like to state it depends on the alignment of the cat. A lawful cat will not knock over or fuck with a single mini, a chaotic cat will slip and somehow destroy your computer, livelihood and Roth IRA
I am inspired to start rebuilding and improving my painting area. I've not been happy with it and am constantly running out of space. Except the stuff that is stored I never access, and a lot of the stuff that is out could be stored based on how infrequently I use them.
This was a great watch! Always nice to see what others are using for their hobby space. I’d love to get in on the next one too. And serious props to the trucker that has the setup on the go. 🤙
aw man how did I miss this contest.
awesome.
anyone who has only 1 company of paint and has super clean setup is only in hobby for less than 2 years and most likely plays 1 type of game.
great set ups .
@scott don't worry I copy you with the air purifier for the printer

Fake scott
I'd love to see another round of hobby setup roasts in the future... or maybe a hobby setup ranking?
This was amazing, the most desks looks like the same as the one before !! Really inspirating me for cleaning up.
Fun episode!
Love seeying you together having some laughs
The red and blue wall-mount containers at 10:30 are sold at harbor freight, are relatively cheap, and absolutely perfect for this hobby. I bought a bunch of them recently and use them to store all my paints, siphon-feed airbrush bottles, etc; you can fit 6-8 containers of paint per tray (or all your bits, bobs, doo-dads, gew-gaws and cruft, as the hobby king in the video is) - absolutely love this setup, hoping to convert a space in my garage to something similar over the winter.
1:53
"Follow your dreams"
*laughs hysterically*
I didn't make the cut this was cool nonetheless! That idea with hanging the oil paints is brilliant! I think that last set up was a Star Trek replicator. Cheers.
That was hilarious! Hope there is a follow-up episode in the works :D
Love the Harbor Freight air compressors! I have one too, mine is a 1 gallon tank. They are dual piston and are quite quiet. With my one gallon tank I can paint for quite awhile before the it kicks in and it fills up very fast so is not very irritating at all for the short time it is on.
This definitely needs to be a bit-weekly/monthly series dude! Funny shit, and it’s interesting seeing everyone’s set ups!! Love the content my man!
Bi-weekly* lol
Amber roasting Scott is just *chef kiss*
The empty beer bottles in the back really tie everything together.
I don't paint minis but I do love your videos, these types are always fun for inspiration. Hopefully we see more!
Scott make that hobby desk with the tilt front for a video! We need more miniac woodworking! And make this a series!
Hunting for a better setup someday, but also excited to have my current setup roasted as well. You both should totally continue making these videos!
I love this! Make this into a series!
Okay, I loved this so much I finally hit that subscribe button. This was therapeutic. Go you awesome miniacs!
Watching this has made me mindful about the hole I call a hobby setup. Good job projecting another wave of fun into our hobby, still tuned in for another drunken mini painting!
8:20 - Tanner - YOU THE MAN. I need a desk like that!
Made it into the video! So happy and the comments are absolutely correct 😄 please make this a series I've been laughing and rewatching this again and again 🤣
People have space for a permanent setup?? Kitchen table gang
1). You should rename it to "Scott being roasted while trying to roast other setups"
2). Your vocals are sick mate, you should use it more often in your vids, period.
3). Noice idea for a series, maybe split it 50/50 per episode between "the good" and "the bad" setups/paintjobs? Just throwin' some ideas.
4). Sending luv from Poland. Hornz up!
Necronomicon pillow is awesome. Love it!
It's been a long week at work. This video was much needed. Lol love this idea! :)
Please let this become a normal series, loving this
I have a cup of white like that at 14:40 Mine is baking soda for instant drying super glue
Please - make it a series. I love this.
This was awesome. Would be great to see more of these. Would be cool to do a pro painter setup series roast too.
This was an awesome video! (Even though they had my setup listed under the name Travis @15:09! haha) I really like the balance of funny jokes and actually good ideas! I am definitely going to use the binder clips on tube paints and other oddly shaped stuff. Thank you!
I try to keep everything off the desk (with the exception of what I am working on at the moment). When you have storage trays on the desk, the tray takes space but you also have to keep the space in front of it unobstructed or you can't open it. Also, if you spill, it gets on the storage and if that is made out of MDF it will soak up the liquid and fall apart.
Screencap of this video is the best
I feel better about my hobby space after this video :) lots of fun to watch!
Mine is basically full roast. I don't think there's anything good about it lol! It also has to be mobile!
It's all about fitting it around the parrots!
i want to see you roast fellow creatives content creation stations next. the lighting and cable management reaction alone would have me rolling laughing.
Forearms on desk edges…consider a pool noodle cut down one side to cover the edge.
This is HILARIOUS. What a great idea for a video as a change of pace. 😂
Definitely do this again, it was hilarious!
I just downsized my setup from my friends house, who allowed me a ton of space, to an apartment so I really had to optimize my space. Or so I thought, most of these photos are working with a lot less so it put my setup in perspective. If you do I part 2, I'll post mine and I look forward to it
Humorous roasting aside. This is a great tour of hobbydesk ideas
Nice RIP home setup post edit. I was watching this on my break at work, and 100% just laughed out loud like a crazy person. Everyone looked...
The next one should be called Roast or Toast! Get people to send in anything to be judged on if it’s great or bad. I’d like to see more good hobby setups too for inspo!
That portable airbrush setup makes sense, I began airbrushing outside with an almost identical carry setup until i could afford a decent extractor.
I love that amber roasts scott more than scott roasts the actual participants :D
I'd watch more of these episodes lol. For the laughs and also for the good ideas.
I once had an additional 2 shelves for hobby. And then my parrot decided he wanted the shelf above my desk for play. We engaged in a fierce territorial war. I put my things on the shelf. He threw them off and put his things on the shelf. Repeat.
I lost.
Fantastic video! Really enjoyed it. Also got some good ideas for my own setup.
The hanging tube paints looks like a magnetic strip across the shelf front. Great idea. 👍 🤟
to be fair, every one of them with near to no space and a cheap and crappy set up. they're all champs for painting mini's with whatever they have! I don't mind all the cheap setups!
15:43 was my set up, glad you enjoyed it. That is the result of being in this hobby for over four decades! 😱
And yes, I did take over the entire basement to turn it into a hobby floor. In fact I bought a new house so I could do just such a thing 😈
19:24 Those CA air tools compressors are actually super quiet. :) The are awesome.
This was entertaining and also inspiring by the ideas some of the people came up with. Thanks.
Hey man would love to see a guide on Matt black Armor some time. Love the roasts!
This is my first video I've ever watched of yours. Loved it and subbed. lol
Great Video! I have a nice work bench according to wife or she is a great liar. I just wanted to say as a former trucker, I used to build minis while was on the road. Just had to pack a tackle box and go to work. Just don’t spill the paint in the bunk…… don’t ask how I know just trust me. I was doing this in the late 90’s.
I love how "Scott roasting subscribers" turned to "Amber roasting Scott" :D
i wish you could do a video on light set ups, best ights for the hobby and tips for picking lights to the hobby desk
This wasa so much fun! Thank you!
Those pegboard/Wall solutions... makes me think about getting one
Wicked video, and some amazing setups! I do have a question for one of the people featured:
Ryan (featured at about 20:35), can you point me in the direction of what you used/made for your dropper bottle storage hooked to the IKEA pegboard? I use those pegboards, and currently have a bunch of their flat trays with my paints on them, but having dropper bottles stored at an angle like that looks AWESOME! I'd assume it's some sort of custom 3D printed solution, so if there's a place to get those files please enlighten us!
i was wondering the same thing. Good to know that some of that set up comes from Ikea, thanks! one step closer.
@@joeltaylor1659 I completely forgot to update. I found a few different designs for the pot holder STL files available online! Searching for "IKEA Skadis paint bottle holder" should find them.
@@AnZsDad1973 That's awesome! Thanks a lot.
This was fun! Definitely some good ideas here for staying organized. And how not to do it!
Damn, I should've gotten my 2 cats into the picture to get chosen 😂Nice video, there are some good inspirations in there 👍
2:21 hey its j macc's armies of middle earth! Love his channel
taro modelmaker sticker @11:29, absolutely ace customer service :)
@21:20 Hey! I recognize Joeseph and his traveling case from my lgs, TORCHLIGHT GAMES AND HOBBIES in Burlington, Ontario, Canada. He can't set up permanently because the airbrush studio is a free communal sport at the gaming shop.
@Miniac is this a legit comment above? Seems Sus.
Hilarious. Couldn’t stop laughing.
That was great. I want to see more!
Wooooo... I loved this video. LOL
Where can I get this round base (bottom left side) to place the paints 20:32?
Thanks!
It really struck me how many people are having a resin 3d printer placed in a room, a small closed room with no ventilation where they actually sit and work / paint minis. That is just, wow! It is healthier to smoke 40 cigarettes a day, than doing that resin stunt.
Yeah - almost afraid to send my 'work' area - they all look so tidy.... I was right not to send!!!!!
We need a part 2!!!
Eyyy! My setup made it 9:47 glad you like my Armor 😂
This turned out to be surprisingly interesting and informative!
Love you guys, great to see Mrs Miniac too :-)
Love that video 😂. Hope you can do that again
13:20 that dudes going to start a fire having a heater plugged into a power strip like that
