- The SM5 helmet is the result of more than five years of intensive study, development and testing. We scrutinized every possible aspect to engineer a helmet that is safe and thoughtfully designed to deliver optimal protection and comfort.
This lightweight helmet features a thermo-injected shell incorporating a special polymer blend enhanced by varying degrees of thickness that is engineered to deliver the optimal combination of impact protection and light weight, while the five density EPS liner ensures the correct density in the correct area for enhanced impact absorption.
Other key design features include an engineered raised area with padding to effectively reduce the forces transmitted to the collarbone and a patented visor release system that ensures the visor is released with the correct pre-determined amount of force, irrespective of the angle of impact.

i had a fox trice v1 and got this sm5 and let me tell you guys it is so much better it is so light, inexpensive, and comfortable to wear for 6-7 hours straight also just as a heads up i am a xl and the trice was way bigger and loose on the head but the sm5 was a lot tighter so just be aware of that awesome helmet though definitely worth the money for what it is
Same as me, i have a Fox V1 and i Sell it the other day just to buy this Alpinestar Sm5 because my cousin have one this exact design and i am surprise for its lightweight kind of helmet, thats why i order the Sm5 for 13,000 pesos and 6,500 pesos for my Fox v1 that ms been sold.
Would you recommend getting a xl in the sm5 ? Or go down to the large in sm5 ? I currently have the fox v1 in a xl and feel like it ahiild be tighter and I was going to order the sm5 in a large. Do you think I would be good or should I stay with xl ?

Does anyone know how to get the “mouthpiece” out to clean the filter?
Awsome helment only problem is the mouth piece sits really close to my chin need to get use to it also can't run nose guard on me 100% as the push up on the mouth piece
It would be helpful to know which shell sizes go with which fit sizes.
Have one of theese and the helm is great, only negative is that you can´t mount a lightbar anywhere, had to change my helmet light bar to gopro fasteners, witch is suboptimal. Otherwise great bang for the buck.

@@icool247 i should have got a xxl but the xl will work. fits snug and is balanced great on the head. nice! i can move the head around fast and smooth.

can you put the sm8 visor on the sm5?
Dont buy. Its trash. To get in is a nightmare.
