I really appreciate your coverage on all the developments with the cybertruck. Good job being thorough and nuanced in your approach. One thing you mentioned was the rollout of V4 superchargers. As far as I'm aware, based on videos from Out of Spec Reviews, no V4 superchargers have actually been installed yet. Tesla has only installed the cable and unit that the customer interfaces with. This is an important detail to look more into and inform customers of.

Realizing how many powerwalls the cybertruck equals makes me realize truly how much it takes to power an electric vehicle lol. Imagine how long a hummer EV could keep a home powered with its monstrous pack XD

a yoke and a wheel clearly should become a hovel, not a squirkle. (sorry, I meant it should be called a "yokel")
I cancelled my cybertruck reservation, not because I don't like it but because the newly revealed price and my means don't mix too well, especially since all the cool features the vehicle has have very limited practical utility in my life. If I could get one I wouldn't mind, but I'm not willing to overreach to try and get one.
Might get a used one later if I get a chance.

ah. the first plausible explanation. Elon even figured out how to square the circle.
I'm still pretty sure it should be called a yokel...
I am very interested in seeing a cybertruck up close, so I can meet the local yokels. :) Please forgive this horrible joke haha.

Man, I so want/wanted to get one of these, but the range just doesn't work for me; off roading and camping in the West requires more range than they have delivered (giving up 1/3 of the bed space for the range extender is not an option). One of my favorite places to play is the Sawthooths in Idaho. The closet Supercharger is in Boise and it would take, at minimum, half the battery capacity to get where I'm going. Unless they expand the network in these areas, I'll have to pass when my reservation comes up 😞

    I have a concern:
    I am getting a cybertruck too, can’t wait, but…
Looking at my battery health in my model y performance since March ‘22 it’s at 87%. A whole year and a half has gone by and my mileage went from 303 to 267 on a full charge. Now my concern is for the performance cybertruck in the same situation 🤔
It’s great that it can do all these by-directional charging stuff but if you have a battery almost similar to my model y you would definitely think twice about charging someone else or charging your home 😬, cool trick but… definitely needed that 500 mile range for this trick

    • @cadergator

    • @hotelvictortango
      @hotelvictortango 9 місяців тому +1

Main thing to keep battery health high and longer: charge to a maximum of 80% (preferably 70%) for daily driving, and avoid letting the battery dip down to 30-40%. Avoid supercharging unless you're on a road trip, as it wears out the cells heating the battery up to accept such a fast charge. And when you're at a supercharger, avoid going to 100% unless absolutely necessary, 80% is the cap where it takes twice as long to charge because of how battery charging works and can also cause more wear.

For towing trailers this needs more power outlets by the driver. Towing a trailer usually have a trailer rear camera, TPMS, GPS all which require 12v power. I don’t see enough ports by the driver to power all of these. One will need some USB multi ports or a 120v adapter plugged into the rear passenger outlet

You forgot the etched bug stains, that are already visible in some of the videos featuring the first sold Cybertrucks. And the physical fact that any replacement panels can never be matched with the old panels as the omd ones are already weathered (Tesla excludes all weathering related claims in their warranty terms and conditions).

Need to lose the rear screen in these vehicles. Better to have power charging outlets and great WiFi for rear passengers. Like the idea of an add on or aftermarket tray for each rear passenger. No need to build a tray into the seats. Keep it simple. My observation is that most people prefer to use their on phone, tablet or laptop when traveling. Rear heating and cooling can be adjusted (by request) from the front occupants. Other items needed is a cooling system for the phone inductive charging system along with a MagSafe to keep them in place.

Thanks Ryan. Do you know if the 48V architecture uses a 48V battery similar to the 12V system. If so, where is it, will it be able to be easily swappable like the 12V batteries are? Where is it located? These batteries probably do not have the same lifespan of the 800V system. And for the near future you probably can't easily purchase it anyway.

My take from the Monroe video is the 48v power system taps into the main battery and can convert to and from 12v to 48 volts. They mentioned the ability to "jump" the truck from a 12v vehicle. I suppose it's to allow for opening doors, rolling up windows, putting it in tow mode, etc when the main battery is off line.
