5043 Earl of Mount Edgcumbe doing 75mph through Abergavenny with the Welsh Marches Express 28-09-13

One of the best videos ive ever done and possibly the best video of a Castle working flat out ive ever done.
My locations for Earl of Mount Edgcumbe's Welsh Marches Express trip to Hereford was at Abergavenny. The weather was not that great with showers and not very much sun breaking through the clouds.
Despite the incredibly late news of actual timings from Tyseley to Hereford, I managed to get them and got to Abergavenny in plenty of time. She came flying through 5 mins early with a nice whistle from the Tyseley crew and my suspicion was that it was doing 75mph at the bottom of Llanvihangel Bank.

What a wonderful steam locomotive ! We never had so powerful steam/diesel machines
here in Italy. Most lines were electrified since the beginning of 20th century.

What a fantastic sight to see. Loco bumping around a bit on the approach, although that's exaggerated by the foreshortening of the camera lens. Marvellous stuff, and to think these locomotives were destined to be turned into pots pans and garden gates. Well-filmed too btw...

Happily, I was a train Spotter in my childhood and my favourite class was the Castle Class
and I saw this one. They were all beautiful though. Mount Edgecombe is having the time of her life here though!!

@@richarddutchholland4780 They are very handsome locos and the GWR look with the brass and the way their liveries and signage are an unmistakable 'brand' is all part of it, but I think it's the sound that caps it off - they sound more like a jet fighter than a steam engine as they come past at high speed.
