I only drive Hondas and Toyotas, but my girlfriend who just wanted a cheap car has one of these and needs a new bulb, this will save me a lot of time. Thank you Matt!
Thank you. Driver side has 5 of those christmas tree trim tabs besides that you can do the same thing. I didn't remove my tire and had no issues, 5 minute job!
The right/pass side this will work! BUT WILL NOT ON THE LEFT/ DR SIDE! The battery change out requires loosing the driver side of plastic bumper clip. I could not access bulb from inside the wheel well with inner cover removed. Had to remove headlight subassembly by removing (3) T30 torx screws
Thank you, thank you Matt, most excellent! This is great hack for getting around not removing the front bumper cover. I own a very nice low mileage 2012 Chrysler 200 Touring convertible which I like very much and I'm adding a universal Daytime Running Light kit and wanted to change to a whiter light output for the headlight to look better with the LEDs white light color from the DRLs. I changed the original production battery out in May of 2019 and had the driver's side wheelhouse splash shield out for the battery change. Some people are critical of this model of car but since mine is the convertible version and I like the styling I will keep mine into the future. Thanks again and safe driving.
YES MA’AM ik that’s mf right !!! Who tf need a man or woman when u got ya self & not scared to get dirty💪 I love us females who aren’t scared to mess with our car!
Excellent tip, thanks! I'm just about to change my 200S's headlights after one burnt out, and I wasn't looking forward to taking off the entire front. Apparently the passenger side headlight bulb can be reached by moving the radiator overflow tank, but since the driver's side isn't as easy I plan to just remove the wheel well panels on both sides. Besides, I want to check the battery, which is also behind the driver's side panel (what a lousy place for a battery!)
No need to do that man! I have a 200 S as well and I just loosened my fuse box and lifted it up enough to give me just enough room to reach the headlight! 3 different places tried telling me I’d have to take the bumper off but one day a friend of a friend was hanging out with us and said he could change it for me without needing to do any of that, and voilà.. had a new headlight within 15 min lol
There are other videos using this method. Removing the tire is important. BUT I have large hands and could not get enough advantage to pop that weather cover where the headlight lives. I ended up taking the entire bumper down. I hate those plastic fasteners. More screws to remove with the bumper down way, but a whole lot less frustration getting the lamps replaced. Went back to the halogen bulbs. The LED bulbs were really screwy and could not be aimed. I was endlessly turning a really long Philips driver and no luck
I am never buying a Chrysler again! Those engineers must have been smoking crack or something to design something this convoluted and stupid! At least you found a better way to do this than taking off the whole bumper.
I was able to get it without having to remove anything. Chrysler 200 2012. Limited edition. It was a pain but not as bad as having to remove the wheel. Or the front end plastics
I have a 2012 200 S and what I did was loose my fuse box and lifted it up just enough to give me room to reach my headlight.. wayyy easier and faster. Not that this method isn’t a good one! Just time consuming lol. My 200 S doesn’t have the flap by the wheel like this, and I did not want to take off my bumper so I had to get creative lol
You could have easily killed 2 birds with one stone with this video. Had you done the video on the driver's side you could have also shown that "this is where the battery lives if you need to replace it". SOOO close to a GREAT video!!
Or.... Remove the ONE snap clip at the filler neck of the washer reservoir, and simply reach in and do it. Takes 2 minutes. Its a tight fit, and the filler neck flexes a bit... but im a full sized man with large hands and I can do it.
@@RN4Surgery First time is a doozy, since you actually do have to do all this if you don't have a baby-hand friend (that's who I used). But after you switch to LED lights (you need a PCMS so they don't flicker), you can just grab it by the fins and twist. My eBay account lost track of what PCMS I used, sorry. 9012 is the light size
I actually was able to reach my hand in and grab the back of the headlight. I was even able to turn it an wiggle it around a little bit. But there was absolutely no way that thing was coming out like a normal headlight in pretty much any other car.
Thanks Matt! Really not looking forward to taking the whole front end apart. Saved me a lot of work!
As a working woman trying to replace this before I leave my store tonight, you have no idea how much your video just helped me!

Just did this. Kept wheel on and just turned the tire to the inside for the light I was replacing. Snap, twist, pop, push, twist, snap & Done! Boom 💥
..sounds like my love life, hahaha
I have a stubborn pin that won’t come out. One pin. The main pin I need off n it’s being a dick right now
@@jamesdoakes4956 thank them auto makers for this crap!!!!

Man god bless u just saved my entire Saturday
Holy shit. This saves me trips to the dealership. Can also get to the battery this way too. Thank you so much Matt!

Have to do this on my 2013. Thank you for this!
Greg Terrell I’m about to do this right now lol.
Works great. I didnt take my wheels off. Once up on jacks, I just turned the wheel out of the way to take the wheel shroud out. Worked like a charm!
I don't know much about vehicles but can tell you what chemicals to mix.....so, the video helped. Thank you.
22 year old women did this myself thank you soooooooooo much 😩☺️
You're very welcome! I'm glad it helped! :)

Thanks so much for this video. A big, big timesaver and help.

Yes yes it did

My bulb just went out. It’s like they want you to take it to the dealership with how difficult they make it to fix something so simple 🤦🏻♀️
Hell yeah man i was outside scratching my head haha. much thanks!!!!
You sure did help me out appreciate you very much.
THANK YOU FOR SAVING MY MONEY
Thank you men this helped a lot
Glad it helped!
They had us in the first half not gonna lie
Oh my goodness I need mine replaced after 10 years.
Omg thank you so fricken much… I did the bumbler thing the first time…… what a disaster
Just made life easier 😂✅
Thank you for the video, this woman won't be attempting to change that bulb. There are some things I know how to do lol
Thank you so much man
thanks man!! it really helped
I know this sounds like a dumb question just to make sure it's the same way on the driver side right?
I am never buying a Chrysler again! Those engineers must have been smoking crack or something to design something this convoluted and stupid! At least you found a better way to do this than taking off the whole bumper.
Helped a ton. God bless
Thanks man, trying to help a buddy out and I about brought out the saw and say fuck it. Thanks again!!!!
Is that the same for the blinker? I am shocked how hard even that is. What thought it was just needed to lift the Hood of the car.
Thank you for this!!!!
This is great thanks!!!!!
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you
What about the other side ?
What headlight or bulb does it use
It takes a 9012 bulb. I've added a link in the description to the ones I purchased for this repair.
Nice 👍
Thanks ✌
question is that bulb the low beam and high beam ? Or are those separate bulbs
It is one bulb for both low and high beams
@@mattmartin6710 what bulb should I use?
Can I change out both to a different bulb while I'm at it and what would you recommend

So what did you do?? Just turn in the wheel to get to the box??

Yes it is. I just did the drivers side a couple months ago. Same exact process.

Also... what bulb matches the original?
-_- just finished putting the bumper back on wish i looked this up first
Do yourself a favor, kids: get LED lights. The fins mean no dust cover is needed, so I can just snake my hand in there if they need switched
What would I order & do you have a pic of where you access it...
