Johnny has the best voice ever!!! I love this group so much! I was there for his last concert and it was awesome even though he knew he was going to die! Johnny gave it his all! Singing my favorite song! I did not realize he was sick and it did not seem he was sick! Singing that song was the one thing I will never forget! When he sang You Will Never Walk Alone! It was the most wonderful version anyone could ever hear! He knew he was going to pass away and it was the best version ever! RIP Johnny! You are the best and will never be forgotten!
This group was fantastic, great vocals and instrumentals. They had a great sound and deserved far more credit as performers. I still listen to their music almost daily. So sorry to have lost Johnny and Fred.
This brings me back to the summer 1969 when I saw them sing this songs in New Jersey and I bought this record and Johnny sign his name,I was just a 17 years old girl from Iceland and all my live I have never forget them.RIP Johnny.
What a great clip. I've been listening to Johnny since he was with the Crests. What a great voice. And credit to the Bridge who have always given him the best support both in vocals and instruments.
Just one of the best of the best, Johnny Maestro. I met him a few times at his concerts and i have to say he wasn't very nice to fans..but still couldn't get enough of his fantastic voice.
I agree, he appeared to be “very detached from his fans”, but I think that feeling might have been due to health or perhaps his appearance - specifically the early hair loss. I got that same impression when he came off the stage at the last concert I saw him up here in New Hyde Park, New York.
Mike Gregorio, the background singer in the middle is a very cool dude. We are both from Staten island and same neighborhood and partied together. Hope he is doing well.
I consider this one of the most uplifting performances I have ever seen or heard. This song, out of tens of thousands I have heard in my 68 years, has rapidly catapulted to the top 10 , if not #1. I missed it somehow, but heard it on LNG RADIO out of Sag Harbor this past Monday before I had a couple of teeth pulled. This song blew my mind, to use the old expression, and I can't get enough of it. THANK YOU, SMITTY, for posting this!
I remember seeing these guys so many yrs. ago at a club, near Orchard Beach, N.Y.. We had such a great time when we were young. Saw them again when i was middle aged, then again when i was older. I am so lucky i was able to see them all throughout the years. I was shocked when i heard Johnny Maestro had died. A part of me died that day. Thanks for all the memories you gave us.
I saw a concert and met members of the Brooklyn Bridge in the summer of '69 up in Lake Winnipesaukee, NH. I got to talk to Johnny Maestro..YAAAAAYY!! Huge thrill for me!!
Oh..and something that I thought was hilarious was..the Brooklyn Bridge did a set of all songs by Gary Puckett & the Union Gap. But..Johnny Maestro announced.."For our next set..we're going to be doing some tunes by that very famous band..GARY UNION & the PUCKETT GAP!! Do you know those guys"?? I thought purposely mixing up the name of the band was really funny!! Well..Hey..I was only 14..Gimme a break!! LOL....
Thanks Smitty. Spent about 8 hours today watching the memorial service and other BB concerts and shared the one in Stamford. If that was 2005 or so I am surprised I was not there as I lived next door in Greenwich at that time before I moved to Florida.
Always loved the energy the Maestro, Johnny and the Brooklyn Bridge brought to live performances. I believe anyone would love them! It's just a matter that people always look to what's "cool" - I'll always see this as classy coolness, nothing beats that
Thanks Smitty for posting this! Althought I've seen them perform this many times, never seen a performance of it way back in the day! R.I.P John and Fred!
Thank you so much for posting this. Dion may have the best voice in rock n roll and Jay Black the most powerful but Johnny brought it together with his vocalists like no other. His voice moves me to tears especially when he sings “You’ll Never Walk Alone” RIP John
So thoughtful of you post this video. Totally excellent in all respects. Thank you! When it comes to the "doowop sound" ... Johnny is my pick as "the king" among the other great competitors ... splendid listen ... and a standing ovation is deserving of this song and performance whether live or recorded ... his back-up singers and musicians rate as top-shelf from start to finish ... RIP, Johnny!
Always bristles the hairs on the back of my neck when i hear this song. The voice of a master. Like Frankie Valli the misic he got was perfect for Johnny Maestro
TONI WINE ?..(WEINSTEIN)..who wrote husband and wife .plus many other songs i was told she was the girl who was on the recording with Tony Orlando (Dawn)..(not the same girl he made appearances with.)...yellow ribbon....... her brother told me that many yrs ago ..............Erik Von

Wow, Johnny Maestro and Mike Douglas? In Philly in 1969? Welcome Me Love is one of my favorites amongst many of their songs. Never ever heard Husband and Wife song before but once again his VOCALS are one in a million. RIP
Wow wow. Amazing group and a powerful great song. Johnny RIP. You were fabulous and you are missed dearly

Maybe SOME of the best days of some of our lives as several BEST days lye ahead.
Johnny has the best voice ever!!! I love this group so much! I was there for his last concert and it was awesome even though he knew he was going to die! Johnny gave it his all! Priceless! One of my all time favorite group. Johnny had one of the best voices of our generation. Rest in peace.
I remember listening to this on a 45 when I was 15, over and over.
Johnny the maestro of singing. I hope you sing with the angels ❤
One of the greatest voices in music history He made #1 hits with two different groups amazing
Johnny Maestro IS the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame!!! All by himself!!! Without his inclusion, the hall is worthless!!! Miss you JM!!!
RIP Johnny Maestro we loved your music.
This group was fantastic, great vocals and instrumentals. They had a great sound and deserved far more credit as performers. I still listen to their music almost daily. So sorry to have lost Johnny and Fred.
I loved listening to them in the 60's, wish I still had the 45s. Thanks so much for the memories.

Saw them AC Steel Pier July 4th weekend 1969
Johnny. The Miestro.
What a voice.. I loved and lived his music. Gone to soon, R.I.P. Johnny
Johnny was amazing. He gave us so much to be happy for. This doesn't exist today, we were lucky.
What a great clip. I've been listening to Johnny since he was with the Crests. What a great voice. And credit to the Bridge who have always given him the best support both in vocals and instruments.
No matter what recent songs he sung in later years I always can hear STEP BY STEP in his voice and echoing in my mind comes THE ANGELS LISTENED IN.
Just one of the best of the best, Johnny Maestro. I met him a few times at his concerts and i have to say he wasn't very nice to fans..but still couldn't get enough of his fantastic voice.

Great music. We miss Johnny very much! Great days and years! Fun, Free and SO ENJOYABLE! THOSE DAYS ARE GONE FOREVER!!!!
Mike Gregorio, the background singer in the middle is a very cool dude. We are both from Staten island and same neighborhood and partied together. Hope he is doing well.
Mike and I rode two buses together to st. Peter's high school from 1961 to 1965. He sang at my graduation party. Great guy.

This is great, thank you Smitty for this. The Great Johnny Maestro.
Should have been in the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame a long time ago!
Just as many rock musicians are in who shouldn't....and many more who should be are not. POLITICS is suppose.

First Class Act! Johnny had a voice which I think was over looked! Groups of today can learn so much from this group!
The classiest act ever, thank you for sharing!

His GREATEST songs, IMO, was in the 50's when he was the lead singer with "The Crests" .

Thank you, Smitty, for posting this! Still thinking about you!
GOLD 🪙🪙🪙. Miss that voice. Saw him once in person in the early 80's, not one dissatisfied customer at the venue
Johnny Maestro. Really missed
What an awesome group with Johnny Maestro - and harmonies & horns!
Mike Douglas sure conducted an awkward interview, though.
Yes, I was thinking the same thing...very awkward!
Mike Douglas was not a strong personality. Like vanilla ice cream, he could have been really indroducing thi group to America
Always bristles the hairs on the back of my neck when i hear this song. The voice of a master. Like Frankie Valli the misic he got was perfect for Johnny Maestro
They performed at Misty Harbor Lindenhurst LI NY fairly often. Saw them there several times. Love the Brooklyn Bridge. Can't go back can we?
Johnny maestro voice is so distinctive. remember the crests?…so strong
Saw them live at Drury College in Springfield. They were amazing😂❤❤❤❤❤

What an awkward interview(er)! These guys were so much more talented than most of their peers in the Doo Wop period.
You are so right. That was an awkward interview for sure.
They did beautiful songs
OUTSTANDING, LOVE IT!

Toni wine wrote “ Sugar sugar, knock 3 times, candida, tie a yellow ribbon, I think I love you again and I’ve loved you like I love my very life “.
Mike Douglas's show was great - all live performances and all kinds of music.
