Johnny Maestro had one of the best voices in his era and I loved the songs that they did. The Brooklyn Bridge is the group I remember the best. I had just turned 21 and my friends and I were at a bar and there was a group there called "The Hunks of Funk" and the first song they sang was the worst that could happen. I almost fell of my chair and they did it pretty well and that was 55 years ago and that bar is gone, but I love this video and Johnny and the all of his groups.........................Betsy Blue-Eyes
I love this video and the song he is singing right now "You'll Never Walk Alone". It is a special song for me and has a sentimental meaning to me when my father had cancer...........Betsy B
Such an amazing group, and Johnny definitely had a great voice. I went through several of these records cause I wore them out playing them so much. His music brought a lot of happiness. May he RIP
I’ve heard 100 versions of never walk alone but Johnny Maestro tops them all. I saw him live in 1972 at Arkansas State and even as a teenager got chills when he hit those high notes that nobody else would go for live.
Thank you for this video. This from that period when they were so stripped down. I knew that Johnny played bass in the studio like on their last album called "The Bridge" but this is this first time I have seen any video of him playing bass live.
Now..this year I'm turning 64 on Dec.18..i ove this groups spexially the lead singer mr.jonny maestro..i love his voice,,since i grew up and that time i was 13 years old and i was pragnant also...I love this group until now I'm already 64
There were several BB live versions of You'll Never Walk Alone.....this was his strongest where he outdid himself. Then again, John amazed his audiences time and time again.
I grew up in the Bronx and remember Freddy Ferrara. He sang with Dion and the Belmonts whose family was friends with my mom in the Italian section ( Arthur Ave). I am 10 years younger, but recall Freddy was the hearthrob of the teenage girls. This era can never be duplicated.
Well you’re half right. There was a Fred that was a member of the Belmonts but it was Fred Milano. But!!! Fred Ferrara of the Brooklyn Bridge also sang with Dion as a member of the Del Satins who backed Dion on most of his HUGE solo hits after leaving the Belmonts
I'd never recognize him . I was use to seeing him with a Pompadore hairstyle . But this is the 70's so the hair styles changes a lot from the 50's and 60's

Johnny maestro is great for any generation I would put him up against Freddie Mercury anytime he's that good if not better
God gave Johnny more soul than any Caucasian should have been allowed.
