I'm convinced that it is impossible to listen to Maestro singing this live version of Step by Step without replaying it over and over and over ... his voice is perfection ... especially for doo wop : )
Loved Johnny Maestro, he had such a great voice , I still listen to his music often , brings back such great memories . RIP JOHNNY AND THANKS FOR ALL THE GREAT SONGS . YOU ARE GREATLY MISSED
I just love these guys. There will never be another Johnny Maestro. So glad I was born for this era and had sense enough to appreciate them and their music. Did get to see them live twice. As I age I hope to God there is a rocknroll heaven. That's where I'll be. For those born too late to enjoy as contemporaries they will take the time to get to know Johnny and his music . Until later Johnny, it won't be that long...
In heaven Johnny is still one of the best voices ever in the business. One of the few singers to maintain his ability to sing the way he did when he was young. God probably has him performing daily. Rest well my Friend. Ron--Highway Stars Magazine.
Wow fantastic superb awesome !!!!! Are there more adjectives to describe such fantastic group at that time!!!?????? OMG!!!That was a tremendous era of music . .MUSIC I SAID not raeggetton ????
Yestarday was 1 year since we lost the most wonderful voice and person in the music world. Can't tell you how much you are missed Johnny, but your music will live on forwever.
The Crest,The Del satins and thus we have The Brooklyn Bridge. It does'nt get any better than this R.I.P.Johnny Maestro and Thanks for all the GREAT music..The Shanman
50's and 60's music will live forever. It's everywhere...movies, television, advertising, videos.Never before or ever again will any genre of music be as enduring or endearing.
I was at several of Johnny's Concerts here on Long Island, he was the best, a gentleman with a terrific voice. Hey Johnny we all miss you here in New Yawk ! RIP
How beautiful. This’s so called music. Brings joy, and good vibes to many around the world. He’ll always be remembered.~ Mr. Maestro. Nov, 2024. Thank you for the post.
We can all relate to Johnny and all the groups he was in. He was so smooth and debonair.....if you wasnt in love when you got on the dance floor ...you would be by the time the song ended....so many windshields steamed up. Thanks Johnny for all the Memories..
Doo wop has always been around me as a baby I grew up hearing it constantly from parents, aunts, uncles and to this day I know all the songs and words and I'm 72
what a way to spend our high school days-dancing to these songs by Johnny-1964 was 50 years ago in real time-but just like yesterday in the video of my mind!
One of the few lead singers from that era that never lost his great voice. And he always made it look totally effortless. By the response of the audience whenever I saw him live I'm sure he knew how much joy he brought to our lives.
You were the original oldy but goody. My wife and I were so excited to see you perform in person just about three years ago. You'll always be our favorite.
LOVE both of these great songs and the way JM&BB graciously involve the audience in their performance. Bet all of these guys are great dancers just watching how they smoothly move in sync. Thanks so much for posting all of these videos from the same show.
thanks for sharing this just love his voice. dont matter who he is singing with. and always handsome to look at. i watched the video of him before he passed. still handsome still great to hear his voice.
Saw Johnny & BB on Monday night at Resorts in AC. It was unbelieveable!! Had a seat right next to the stage. The voice is...It leaves you at a loss for words. I just joined You tube because I see all the other Angels leaving comments and I just needed to let you know of another Angel out there. Will post again.
I had the extreme privilege to meet him at a show at the Walker Theater in Brooklyn back in the late 70's. My friends father knew Don K Reed and got us front row seats and we got to go backstage. It's a memory I'll alway treasure.
My wife Jody and I made a list of all the places we saw JM when we lived in NY. I think it was about 50. I have since lost the list and I wish I still had it. We grew to know and hang out with Les and Freddy, even went to a Met game. Loved the group and still listen to his songs frequently. RIP Johnny and Freddy. Bob Fuehrlein
I keep watching all of Johnnys shows. God how I miss seeing his live shows😢 Heaven has our Angel, and also Fred and Les. So sad losing all 3 of them 😢😢😢 ❤❤❤
Wish I had all the quarters I dumped in the juke box listening to this wonderful song at "Busters" in Maple, WI. What hits Johnny had in his career. RIP.
He is now I along with my late wife Alyce n my daughter n son in law saw Johnny Maestro in person with the Brooklyn Bridge in Garfield NJ the man was was truly blessed by GOD
When will they put him in the R&R HOF!!!! Its pathetic. Why I will never visit it. They hate early R&R and the 1950's ...Its BS. This is the best music we ever had...
Totally fucking riDICKulous how they qualify these guys for going in. You're going to tell me The Crests, Neil Sedaka, Paul Anka don't belong in the fucking R&R HOF? You're NUTS. The CRAZIEST THING IS Del Shannon is in there! They are really fucked up whomever is running the joint that is. I think one of the requirements are you like have to have a hit record in the last 5 years, something like that. But good for you, don't visit the place! In baseball/football/basketball, I think you actually have to be retired to first be considered for the HOF !
OMG...does this sound bring back great memories of teen years...the dabulous Crests...Johnny Maestro....wow. and he still sounds exactly like the records he made decades ago...🎶⭐🎶
By first one of the best singers ever !!! You can tell how much he loves what he's doing. Glad I grew up listening to him. He would Hard to beat. God bless him and may he rest in peace.
Put johnny in the Rock and Roll hall of fame.
A pure voice! None better. Sooooo why is he not in the Hall of Fame?
No matter what the venue Johnny was always at the top of his game.
I'm convinced that it is impossible to listen to Maestro singing this live version of Step by Step without replaying it over and over and over ... his voice is perfection ... especially for doo wop : )
