@@doubleddbeat3418 I also like the prog era very much. however, Peter's stage performance gradually dominated the music, apparently...I heard this from band members several times. There is no need for comparison I think as the band reached immense fame with Phil, and Phil has been hugely successful in his solo career..I like both eras, though

I remember watching these concerts every year on HBO in the 80's...and the camera would show Princess Diana clapping and dancing to the beat of the music, it was so great, they should continue doing these benefits live again. God save the King & Queen.

Yup. Although during the verses I like Jamerson's line better than this one, which I think Leland Sklar may have developed. It's only a couple of notes different and probably nobody but a bass player would even notice. But sometimes subtle changes have a sizeable impact.

@@maxmustardman298 Yes i think they were pretty popular over there. My mate bought a player towards the end of their availability in the UK. God knows why. I think he only bought a couple of discs. And i never did get to see what they looked like on screen. The TV's at the time probably never gave them the justice they deserved

It sounds like he got some of them mixed up.. It was a one-off show, not in the middle of a tour.
His version does indeed change several lines from the original Supremes version. The bass line is just a little different, too.
