- During a recent trip to Roswell, New Mexico, we visited Whataburger, the Texas-based fast-food chain that you can only find in the southeastern and southwestern United States. Whataburger was founded in 1950 as a modest hamburger stand in Corpus Christi, Texas. Today, there are more than 800 Whataburger locations nationwide, with over 600 in the Lone Star State.

I’m Canadian who went to Texas for school. I remember going to Whataburger with friends at 3 am after a Friday night of partying. We bonded over those burgers and I’ll never forget it.

Honestly, Whataburger is my favorite burger joint. Those In and out people just dont understand that what they keep talking so highly of is just a generic version of Steak and Shake. Literally indescernable in flavor, looks, just in and out is much more stripped down menu wise. Once ya got a Whataburger right next to an in and out burger, the choice is obvious.

I live in Knoxville, Tennessee. I drove to Birmingham, AL just to eat a Whataburger one time. I had ate them before and was telling my friend how good Whataburger was. They were like well now you gotta take us to get one. So we drove 4 hours ate at Whataburger then drove home. It was a fun day. I miss those spontaneous road trips of the late teens early twenties. Then life, job, family keep you from being the free spirit you once were.

For all the non southern folk, I highly recommend whataburger. It's our pride and joy in texas and so damn good, easily one of the very few places I can never get tired of. My usual go to meals are the patty melt, no onions or the #2 with cheese, and swap mayo for mustard with toasted buns. The sweet tea is great, the shakes are great, love my whataburger.

In n out is much better , than Whataburger the cheese and onions melt in your mouth with so much flavor, it's delicious 😋 I highly recommend it, and the fries 🍟 you can request to have extra crispy, or whatever you prefer! And the habit is also amazing, and they have great salad's and burgers and string bean fries 🍟! And they put malt in the malt's they make!

I am retired, 73 years old, yesterday I decided to go to Whataburger for lunch, I have not had a hamburger since about 3 years ago. I have been ill and I had to go to drop off a package, well, it so happen that a Whataburger was next door to where I went to drop the package . Although I could not eat all of the Whataburger I thoroughly enjoyed it, very much. I was very happy the rest of the day, sometimes the simplest things are what makes the world go round. thank you.

It’s all where your from, my high school teacher from California said In and out is the best, but scratch all that WHATABURGER IS THE BEST FAST FOOD RESTAURANT IN THE STATES, Patty Melt, Chophouse Cheddar, Sweet and Spicy, Honey Butter Chicken Biscuit, and a classic double meat with bacon
The regular Whataburger burgers are good, but where Whataburger really shines is with their specialty burgers like the Patty Melt, A-1 Thick n' Hearty, Sweet and Spicy Bacon Burger, Mushroom Swiss burger, Pico de Gallo burger, etc.

Most people don’t realize that the burger on the menu is the basic version.
You can get the buns toasted on both sides, grilled onions grilled jalapeños, any condiment, different cheeses. People need to step their game up at whataburger. That burger he had with grilled onions makes a difference

They're opening some Whattaburgers in Spartanburg, SC. One is near where I do my shopping. I'll wait until the month after it opens, wait out the rush. Then I'll get a burger and fries there, decide for myself. Side note: the best place for fried chicken is at Publix, in this part of the country. Fast food situational awareness.

Native Texan here. I’ve ben all over Cali and the Southwest. We have had In&out for a decade in Dallas. It’s better than most others but nobody messes with whatabueger.
In an out is also in Texas although good it's kinda just a spectacle I'd rather have whataburger most of the time but as a resident Texan I eat whataburger anywhere between 1 to 5 times a week so in n outs only when I'm a lil tuckered out

Everytime I go to a Whataburger, I know that whatever I get, morning, noon or night, its going to be really good and done right!
I've had In-N-Out plenty of times but I've been wanting to try Whataburger for soooo long!! 🍔🍟 It looks so good tho

@@alaine276 5 guys charges you almost 20 bucks for a meal, i remember sitting at the front of the line ordering and when they told me my total i had them read me back my order like 3 times ... Honestly Moohya is cheaper and tastes just as good.

When I use to eat what-A-Burger frequently, those 2 items were the only thing i order!! Also not going to lie the pancakes from what-A-Burger are legit, better then IHOP and denny's in my opinion
In n out is way better, n better quality, than the trash pushed at waterburger.

Pro tip: Add mayo, mustard, grilled onions and grilled jalapeños, add bacon double with cheese and ask them to cut it in half for you...🤤🤤🤤😉
I moved to Missouri in 1993. I MISS WHATABURGER! I had to ask my niece to go eat one for me. LOL
