    My gosh you did such a brilliant job keep it up! I used to own a delica but all I could do was make it filthy not as beautiful as yours. Although they do look good dirty! xx

      They look good dirty on the outside! Hauhau Living in a filthy van wouldn't be our style... having said that... every now and then it looks a lot worse than you see on this video! Lol! Cheers!

    Nicely done. We're thinking of re-doing the back of our truck after this next trip. The functionality is not what we had imagined so back to the drawing board. Watching this video gave me some great ideas for the remodel 👍

      It's awesome how much you can learn from simply using your setup, right? This is actually Vanda 3.0 hehehe it's the third time we build a camper interior for her. Every single time it gets better heheh Have a great day!

    Que vídeo espetacular !!!! Um dia ainda consigo ter uma visão de edição pra fazer algo assim tão bom !!! Pq sei o quanto de tempo vocês fizeram tudo isso é só foram editar agora !!! E que espetáculo de vídeo !!! Assisti indo e voltando pra ver cada detalhe 2 a 3 vezes !!! Não vejo a hora de ser hóspede nesta nova casa !!! Rsrs ... fale pra Micheila que o piso tem jeito ainda ! Lixa fina para retirar os pelinhos e camadas finas de verniz ... com rolo pequeno de lã bem baixo ! Se não tiver por aí posso mandar para vocês !!! Vai ficar como ela quer entre demãos tem que dar um leve quebrada de lixa !!! Que vai ficar exatamente como ela queria um vidro e liso !!!
    Qual a tradução da frase do armário !!!!?

    • @OverlandWay
      @OverlandWay  6 років тому

      Valeu pelo carinho de sempre, mestre! O piso acabou ficando legal. Com o Taco lá direto ele acaba alisando o piso com o próprio corpo auhuahuaha A tradução seria "Nem todos que vagam estão perdidos" ou algo assim. Abração!

      Usamos sim, mas colocar e tirar o Taco lá de cima não rola. Então quando dormimos em cima ele ganha o quarto de baixo só pra ele. Dormimos na barraca quando estamos em um lugar bonito ou quente e no carro quando só queremos passar a noite num estacionamento ou na rua. Abraços!

      bem pensado. Very nice job. But if you take the back seat out and replace it by a self made one, don't you think that you are going to get problems with guests driving with you? Because you don't have seatbelts anymore.
    Safe travels!

    • @OverlandWay
      @OverlandWay  6 років тому

      Teun Swerts Totally true... The reason we had that seat in the first place was to be able to easily take guests but at the end of the day we need to look after ourselves and we need more comfort. If we find out we need seatbelts I can build a crossmember to hold the belts but so far we are happy just to have a more comfortable place to sleep hehhe

    Great video guys I’m slowly ploughing my way through all of your vlogs I’m planning my own trip pan-America and was wondering what your monthly travelling budget is

    • @OverlandWay
      @OverlandWay  6 років тому +1

      Hi Lee! That's great you are planning to do the PanAmerican... it's heaps of fun and there is so much learning/seeing to do! Monthly bugdet will vary greatly between travelers as drinking or accommodation can affect the overall price of living on the road greatly. We travel at 50 USD/day for two people and a dog, but we do love going to restaurants, have pet expenses and spend more money than we need really. You could do with 30 USD/day. Choosing the right car can help also as trips to the mechanic can cost a fortune! Cheers!

    • @leehowdle5051
      @leehowdle5051 6 років тому

      I think I may have bummed out with the right car as I will be doing it in my old Land Rover discovery 1 300 Tdi (reliability is in the eye of the beholder) but that aside it’s a reliable truck, I am also planning to take my wife. I think eating out is that second favourite thing to do. I was looking at spending £1000 per month $1350 US so this just breaks short of the US$50 however we plan to be sleeping on the vehicle all the time most likely the same roof tent you have. Thanks for the reply and keep on having fun.

I hope you'll find a way around Costa Rica's right-hand drive problem. Yeah, being RHD in a left-hand drive world isn't always easy. Keep doing what you're doing, guys, you're amazing. Such a good channel, I love your videos and have been binging them. You two have made me want a Delica so bad. My girlfriend and I go on roadtrips/camping around Australia in a Subaru Forester. It's an old early 2000s model which is long enough to convert the back into a bed and we made curtains for the windows, and with a roof rack to store things it can feel pretty homely. I always wanted a van but got a Forester because it's a light off roader and didn't think 4WD vans even existed. Did you guys get yours imported from Japan or buy it in Australia?
    Here's a photo of our little Forester on a trip from last year instagram.com/p/BXH8xkEgCUF/?taken-by=hueycookafew

    • @OverlandWay
      @OverlandWay  6 років тому +1

      G'day, mate! We love the Foresters... always thought of having one but ended up with a Delica and can't complain. We traveled for a bit in California with our mate @fozroamer. It's worth checking out his instagram for some inspiration. His FOZ is absolutely SICK!
      We bought our van from an Australia owner after she had had it in the country for 7 years. I wouldn't recommend importing it as prices are way higher and there is no guarantee the car will be any better. You don't get to see it before you buy and some importers or Japanese sellers are know to be dishonest. That's why we decided to buy something we could see, test and knew some of its story.
      In the end it took me - Alex - 6 months to find the car I wanted as many Delicas in Australia are, unfortunately, in bad shape. But there is now a great asset for Australians which is called the Delica Garage. Those guys know everything about the car and are super (SUPER!) honest... it's worth having a chat with them and consider paying a bit more for a car that's been green flagged by them.
      We wish you guys all the best! Thanks for following the channel!
      Cheers
