Just the video I was looking for to help me make my final decision! Thanks for taking the time to shoot this video! Very informative and well made!
Glad to hear it was helpful!
Loved the noise comparison, AND that Avata bar video at 6:45. Well done, and very informative. I have a DJI Mini 3 Pro, purchased last August. I absolutely love it.
A friend has an FPV drone similar to the Avata, I’m looking forward to having my own and flying it with those goggles. Definitely gives you the impression you’re in the pilot’s seat. Thanks for a great video.
You'll like the FPV experience. It's a lot of fun!
Thanks for the positive feedback. If you want to see my full Avata bar fly through video, here's the link

Love all the choices we get now days, nice comparisons. Happy New Year
Happy New Year to you too Chris!
Kelly, great comparison. I do enjoy both of them; two different types of flying. Thanks for the comparison
Thanks for watching!
Another great video, Kelly. I love my Mini 3 Pro that Santa just brought me😂 PS-Peggy's Cove Lighthouse shot was awesome.
Thanks @Captraykelly - I love the Mini 3 Pro - very surprised how great it is for the size!
Great comparison Kelly, both drones have their strong points. But I prefer the Mini 3 Pro, I like to take a lot of pictures. Thank for sharing.
I started with the original mini 1, then progressed to a Mavic 2 zoom and now I have an Avata. All three have their place mini's are great for flying near people and are the most unregulated, the larger Mavic zoom is great for windy condition and rugged areas. The Avata is just a lot of fun flying fpv even with the motion controller you can race around proximity flying, still learning manual mode it take a lot more concentration and skill to fly close to stuff.
Great information on both drones. I like my m3p. It's my go to drone.
Right on. I have flown it way more than my Mavic 3 recently.
Nice video buddy.
Thanks @SeanOzz - I'm looking forward to seeing you in February!
Hey, Kelly. I'm glad you took my suggestion and made this video comparing these two drones. This helps my future decisions as to which to buy first. ( The Avata or The Mini 3). Because I had something to do with this, I'll say it's the best video you ever made. Of course, that's not true but, words are cheap so I'll say them.
Maybe this IS the best video you ever made? :) (Lol). OK Which goggles would you get w/ the Avata? The V2 or Goggles 2? The V2 has better penetration but, it'll be discontinued soon. I know this is difficult. In my case, I'll thinking The V2 cause In 3 years maybe I'll be bored with this hobby so I'll save $200. buy getting The V2. I mean, why waste $ on something that'll sit in my basement. If you do a video on this. (These two goggles) please give it considerable thought as you always do. Thanks for helping us.
I’m glad to enjoyed it.
I have the original FPV goggles V1 and the goggles 2. The goggles 2 are a big improvement in quality and are lighter weight and smaller.
I have and enjoy both for what they do.
Great look at both drones Kelly. I think that the mini 3 pro is the better all around drone for me anyway but it depends on what your use case may be.
Happy New Year Kelly!
Thank you!
Man that Avata will have everybody looking. Great footage from the mini3 pro, but the Avata seems like more fun. I did see the Avata being used for searching for criminal suspects hiding in tight places, it had lights on it too. Good job Kelly
Avata is more fun. I just could NOT have done those shots of the lighthouse and harbor in Halifax with Avata. So it's all about how you want to use it. Thanks for watching and for the comment!
When you play the Avata sound back to back, it really shows the difference in their levels and tone.
Yeah - Avata is very "screechy". That test worked out pretty well because they were both the same distance from the microphone and we didn't adjust the mic levels at all.
Both great, however personally i have no interest in FPV drones. So it's the Mini 3 all the way.
Depends where you live, but a no brainer in Australia, where outdoor FPV is basically illegal except at special ‘model plane airfields’ or with a waiver from the aviation authority.
I'm the first viewer for this video ☺️
Awesome! Don't forget to hit the thumbs up button. 👍
And here is your Noddy badge. 🐭
Yes you are!
What are your thoughts now that you can do FPV with the Mini 3 Pro? I know you can't do flips and as much but it does increase the usability of the mini 3 pro. Or would you suggest not flying FPV with Mini 3 Pro?
It’s a completely different experience. You can’t really fly FPV with a camera drone.
I fly the mini 3 pro advantage of taking video without people noticing it especially at night is it's quiet and the LED lights turn off
O mini 3 também apaga?
You now are able to use the Motion Controller 2 with the Mini Pro and all Mavic Series -- for me make the Mini 3 Pro a no brainer now
Today I flew my Mavic Mini 3 Pro with my Goggles 2 and the motion controller! It was FANTASTIC! I've had several drones. The 3 I have now are the Phantom 4 Pro Obsidian, Mavin Mini 1 and Mavic Mini 3 pro. Haven't used the Phantom 4 since I got my first mini just because it's so much easier to carry around!
Recreational registration is only $5 per person, not per drone, for a 3 year registration. The requirement for the TRUST test still applies, but is free. Rules are the same, despite being over or under 250g.
Excellent points Lee!
Are the remote controllers inter changeable… I understand the have different functions. But if you are out and one controller breaks . Which of these two can work with both drones?
As far as I know, the only controller that works with both of these is the DJI motion controller 2.
Both obviously😊
Ha! 👍
RIP headphone users 😂
that noise test was intense. Great comparison.
Sorry! 😄 Thanks 👊
Some real fpv 5inch plus mini 3👍
The only drone i have is Parrot bebop2... i thinkin of buying new ones... mini 3 pro or avata in ur honest opinion please?
If you want to do FPV then AVATA. If you are not interested in FPV, only taking drone pictures and video, then Mini 3. That's really what it boils down to.
The new update for the avata makes you use remote iD so you will need to do your test to fly and it will not take off until you have your phone plugged into it so if your in a no coverage area you are goosed it will not take off
Would you recommend house tours with the mini pro?
If you can fly with prop guards, the Mini 3 could work, but if you lose GPS lock indoors, the flight may become unstable. The Avata is definitely better for indoor flying.
I started building my own. Dji broadcast is not encrypted which will end up being a problem and geo fencing can shut you down for no reason. No more Dji drones for me unless they change some things.
Good points!
Yeah for FPV as cool as the Dji might seem I’d have more fun with a smaller fpv drone without any geo fencing
Well that didnt help at all
I want both now
😂
Ha! You could just own these 2 and be pretty happy without any others. They are a good combo!
4:50 is that the Avata glitching out again?
Yeah - not sure what happened there...
Obviously posted before the updated firmware making the goggles and control compatible with DJI mini 3 pro.
For sure 👍
It all depends upon what you intend to do.
Yes! 100%!
Dji mini 3 already flies with motion controller with headtracker and the goggles 2,so...)
Nice secret hashtag 👀🤘
Hahahaha...an excellent idea!
I didnt see anything
@@chriswedgworth It's there, Chris. It appears for about 1 second and it's visible -- it's not tiny or anything.
I'll give you a hint. It's in the second half of the video.
@@SunriseWaterMedia oh I was watching how close to people
That was pretty slick
@@SunriseWaterMedia are we supposed to put the hashtag in the comments
# shake it up
Thanks for spotting that, Mike. I'll add your name to the prize drawing that we will do during our live stream this Friday.
#shakeitup
🤘
rc motion controller is working with dji mini 3 pro
Really? I thought it was only the motion controller 2 that was working with it.
I think only 2 yea 🙂
👍
The mini 3 pro is allegedly updated to run with motion controller & goggles now.
I heard that! I don't think I'm going to invest in a motion controller 2, though.
The avata sounds like a bunch of tiny people screaming 😂
Get both. 🤣
Ha ha! Good advice, Barkley.
I’ve never registered any of my dji drones in FAA… 😂
