I love watching your conversions. I’m heavily into converting my models, mainly because I want them to be unique, but also because I am strictly a Heresy-Era Legion builder. GW, and even sadly now Forge World, don’t put out much in the way of 30K-specific models, and what they do have in the range has been gutted for the sake of “specialist games”. Whereas before the Raven Guard (the Legion that I build), had available to them two sets of upgrade torso kits, and three specific shoulder pauldron designs- MkIII, MkIV, and MkVI, now there are no torsos, and only MkVI pauldrons. Also, apart from Corax, they have no special (named) character models, no Legion-specific Praetor or other HQ models, etc, whereas most of the other Legions have all of those things. And FW hasn’t made Librarians, Chaplains, etc, and there are just a lot of holes in the range. So, I convert all of that stuff on my own- out of necessity, and honestly because I really enjoy it. So watching your conversions has always been inspirational to me. And I wouldn’t be a Warhammer fan if didn’t have a nitpick- if the character you made is from the Heresy Era, his Volkite would most likely not be this new version, but the old style. (Volkite is my favorite type of ranged weapon- chargers, calivers, culverins, all of them!- and I arm my models with them any time it’s allowable.) But, since he’s around in the 40K era, it can definitely be argued that he would have an upgraded version, too. Anyway- thanks again for the great video!
Dude you’ve been killing it with these videos. I stumbled across you recently and don’t remember the last time I was this inspired to give my homebrew chapter a story
Excellent work as always, really impressed with the outcome! If I could offer some feedback for your videos, the same looping guitar tune is usually a bit grating by the end of the video, perhaps a fade into a different background track around halfway through the video or at a pivotal point like the paint job reveal might help?
Nice work! I think another BA's icon could have sat nicely on the disk at his waist rather than freehand, but that could just be me speaking from having Zero Freehand painting skill. Loll
Fun fact Nephilim were also the name of a minor Zenos race found by the blood angles and the luna wolves and exterminated by the Jaghatai Khan in the great crusade.
Can you do a paint up of an idea im having? My Blood Angels are in their inception my new army for 2021, but since they are the 9th legion I want to do custom paint scheme relating them to the lost 9th Roman Legion Hispana. Just lost on colour scheme and how to go about this. Not sure of you can help or give insight.
Dustin@ as a longtime historical gamer, i suggest research materials/osprey books/similar. Youll be able to dig up all types of references for what that particular legion used for standards and any uniform colors. Good luck with your great ideas!
Is there an apt place to contact you regarding conversion commissions sometime in the future? And what your rates would be for say a figure or 2? But anyways, very much excited with what you'd come up with for the Black Vipers! Edit: Great work on the conversion as always, very clean and sleek looking. Forgot to mention haha
Gorgeous model - slight concern for the name of the chapter. The Nephilim were arguably the blood angels most hated xenos enemy pre-Heresy - name is very important to BA history
Nephilim is a name that has roots in contemporary culture not just that of the 41st millennium. It can refer to large humans or giant beings as well as describing the offspring of fallen angels and humans. Like many names in 40k, in can have multiple uses. Take for example the chapter called the "Storm Reapers", there are also Eldar "Dark Reapers" and the Chaos "Reaper Autocannon". Just because a non-40k specific word is already in the use, it doesn't mean it can't be used again, especially when it refers to fairly obscure piece of lore.
Alright pal great work. I was just wondering what paints you use I love the matt finish look but citadel range seem to be a little more satin than how I see your relsults to my own.
Brother Please make painting guide for Ashen Claws. There are some oficial artworks but no colour scheme. super unique raven guard renegate chapter that not worship chaos. Since horus heresy they live in galaxy outskirts like a pirates. Sometimes they aid charchradones. Not a best friends but they dont have a choice. Claws use everything they can find even xenos technology, making mixed wargear out of trash just like orks.
Beautiful work as always! Man I’d love to one day get a commission from you, is there any specific way to contact you/ detail? Either way wonderful vid.
As others have mentioned the Blood Angels and Luna Wolves(Sons of horus?) actually fought a xenos race called the Nephillim just before the Heresy, So I'm not fully sold on the name also theres a dark angel fighter with that name too.
so i have a home brew chaos space marine chapter called the sons of ivor. they were once a chaos warband in the realms of sigmar until one day a an ork weirdboy did warp nonsence to teleport half of the warband into the 41st milleniem. (sorry for my terrible spelling) to make the chaos space marines just grab the chaos marauders set and mix match the arms and the head. or if you wanted to make ivors personal guard then you can grab the freeguild greatswords kit and some terminators and change the weapons its fine if you do it and its also fine if you dont. i am ok with both

Weren't the Nephilim a xenos race that ruled one of the Primarch's homeworlds? I mean I love the name, but established lore makes it seem like something the inquisition wouldn't like.
