Lolita is so far from my normal style, but I just ADORE it. The set is amazing and you looked so good in the outfits. The cat was adorable and it just looked like it was an overall amazing shoot to do. I think the last dress was my favourite
So many looks! Congrats to you and the team. Hair and make-up were amazing. You got to work directly with the designer. "Alexa ... Is that you?" Everyone seemed so chill. I'm glad they were a relaxed crew. My condolences to your camera. It probably died of embarrassment, surrounded by too much beauty.
As someone who wears Lolita fashion regularly as an everyday fashion, you did a really good job of describing and explaining it! A lot of youtubers that aren’t involved in Harajuku and Lolita fashion who make videos on it describe it as a sexual thing or kink and you did a really good job as describing it and getting a positive image across, thank you for that💖
@@sabs7880 just because it looks girly doesn't mean it's against feminism Lolita was actually a fashion revolution against japanese standards and is connected to feminism. Because dressing in Lolita takes a while you didn't have as much time to find a husband which was the norm thing to do back then leaving you with more time to have hobbies and have fun being single p.s. Lolita started in the 1970's how does it connect to the 1990's
I ADORE LOLITA FASHION!!! The time, dedication that goes into the outfits is amazing. I use to get the Lolita Bible and FRUiTS years ago because stuff like this isnt common in the UK as everyday dress and you would get attacked for dressing differently.
The lolita community in the UK is huge, big brands like juliette et justine, Angelic pretty and Meta have attended events here. I wouldn't worry about getting attacked, I've worn the fashion for 10 years and apart from odd looks and a few mean comments i haven't had anything but possitive responses. Maybe you should try it, it's sad to know you didn't do something you liked because of what other people thought!
"you would get attacked for dressing differently" sorry, what? unless you live in Saudi Arabia or some other extreme place like that I doubt that is true - and as eye-catching lolita clothings are they are also very conservative and show almost no skin
I'd say Norway is more open....But it used to be unusual, so when I dressed up years ago, middle aged men would look at me and spoke in a different language, I'm assuming on purpose and that it wasn't a compliment, but perverts....So many people think that Japanese fashion is some perverted fantasy come true and not an expression of creativity with historic context and messages...and that it's more appropriate and cute instead of sexy, and those cheap look alike adult role-play costumes...
I really appreciate that you took the time to research and explain exactly what Lolita fashion is. And also, you looked great wearing lolita! Nice video Taylor~ :D
It was really nice hearing the models experience in a photoshoot. I myself, am wanting to be on the photographer side of photoshoots, but it is nice to see from another perspective, to hear what's going on in your mind. A photographer always wants their models to be comfortable & enjoy the experience overall :) The photos came out so well by the way, stunning
Taylor, you are so pretty no matter what you're wearing but HOLY MOLY you were drop dead gorgeous in this shoot. It's like you were a completely different person. I love seeing your model shoots so please keep taking us with you!
I appreciate that you are giving accurate information on the fashion. So many people don’t and just write it off as being fetishy or a costume. It’s nice to hear someone talk about it with respect.
To everyone bringing up Nabokov's novel: the term "Lolita" has many different connotations, from the controversial one you're familiar with, to a nickname for Dolores, to the Japanese subculture. It's existence as a nickname is far older than the book and continues to be a nickname in Spanish-speaking countries, completely devoid of controversy. I understand your concern, but please do research on the FASHION before you start drawing conclusions based on your familiarity with the book. I used to shoot Fashion in NY, I know what a long process getting the perfect shot can be. You looked absolutely stunning, kudos to the stylist, hair and makeup, assistants and photographer.! (But you've got such a beautiful face to start with!)
mthklf We used agencies like Ford and Elite, also smaller agencies if the client was on a budget. Models themselves came from all over the world, Russia, Asia, and lots of girls from the US, especially the Midwest (must be something in the water!)

same here! although even just photoshooting with friends in clothes you love or some formal wear would still be fun! and I think all people of different body shapes should be able to model, even though social media doesn't seem to promote that 💕 I know of some lolita models that are of plus or chubby size and I think that's amazing and I'm happy they're starting to cater to not just how a stereotypical model body should be like, but to show people who are insecure of themselves that they are able to still be beautiful ^^

Ah one of my friends met that designer when she visited Hawaii! It's so awesome you got to work directly with the designer. I've worked along side quite a few in some fashion shows. It's always a great feeling having them be satisfied with the look.
Seeing this video made me smile! :) The purple dress looked fantastic on you and it was so different from your normal style. The vibe that you liked working with these people really was visible too.
It really bugs me when people try to make lolita fashion into some weird sexual thing. This isn't because I have anything against weird sexual things (my video collection includes hentai), but despite what all the Sigmund Freud wannabes online want to believe, not *everything* is about sex. OK with that out of the way: these were gorgeous outfits! I know one, maybe two people who could pull the look off. YOU pull it off quite well. And the kitty cat was a ctie, too.
Sailor Barsoom I think it’s because the term “Lolita” is associated with the novel with the same name. It’s about a middle-aged professed that is obsessed with a 12-year-old girl and later becomes sexually involved with her. So when people use the term Lolita it is in reference to a young girl that is admired sexually by a much older man.
But it still is. Except instead of being about sexua; titillation, lolita is about rejecting what typically titillates men and dressing for yourself, but the problem lies in some men deciding to twist this into a fetish, probably because deep down they have deep seated issues with traditional femininity or have power fantasies where they wish to sexualise unwilling parties. I had a boyfriend who would constantly slut shame women but told me he liked to mentally undress women who purposefully covered up.. he was raised by a female vicar who keeps his balls in a vice. Sex might not be on your mind but it is on others'. One could argue that lolita is deliberately infatalising oneself to avoid unwanted sexualisation, but unfortunately it happens anyway because some people have issues and that's why we can't have nice things :(
I think people think it's the same as the book, lolita. Which was about a girl and a step dad who have uhhh sexual uhh stuff yah. Also I have no idea if it IS about that, because that's what my sister told me and she's read the book :)
Woooow that place feels like a fairytale and Taylor looks like a princess omg so beautiful 😍😍😍😍!! I loved the last lolita vlog as well, it's so much fun to watch them!
I love everything you said about how they do photoshoots and everything else! And also that part where theyre trying to get the dress and veil to fly up perfectly over and over was just too adorable and silly
i am so early omgosh 😂 i loved your hair and makeup in this shoots! i love these kind of videos and i hope we get to see more of this in the future. your description of the lolita fashion is also spot on. love love!
Holy crap you looked so ethereal, who knew you could look even more pretty than you already do. Big kudos to the the whole crew who were able to make you look like a princess from a fairy tale~! The makeup, clothing, setting -- everything perfectly fit together!! Oh, and especially the cat haha~
The set and clothes and everything is just so pretty omg I love lolita fashion and anything to do with like the renaissance era its so pretty but everything is so expensive and i have never seen a lolita shop where i live
Yeah that whole Lolita meme got tarnished many times over in art, fashion, literature, and social mores. Hope with your shoot we get one more step away from the stigma. Glad you addressed it up front. The shoot was great and the end result was even greater. Look forward to more BTS.
This photo shoot is amazing. I used to dress Lolita in like 2002-2005 and this is really bringing back pleasant memories for me. You look so ethereal and pretty in these dresses. You always look beautiful but this style really suits you well!
Ok let's just appreciate all the detail and imagination that goes into making a lolita dress 😍 Like God I'll never were lolita style out but I just love it!
Wow, what a pretty photoshoot! The outfits, hair, makeup and scenery/setting, were all so perfect and well thought out. The staff also seem really nice and friendly :) Looked like you had a good time too! Thanks for sharing this with us, Taylor~
New Sub here ... I Love the Lolita romantic dresses, would love to have one. They also remind me of the victorian-style nightgowns that were used in alot of Dracula movies i saw when I was young. When I got married in 1979, all I could picture in my head was an 1890's / 1900's type dress, off-white,high Victorian neckline, longsleeves, tight bodice, long flowy full skirt. I knew exactly, what I didn't know, was HOW to find it. Back then they sold prom dresses at K-Mart ( kind of like Wal-Mart now ) we didn't have much money, so we really couldn't afford to buy a real wedding dress, but they always have a few white Prom dresses, so I hoped I'd find something , I asked my mom to go with me, it was the 1st time she had gone shopping with anyone for a wedding dress since she had gone shopping for her own, so it was a very special day for us. I had told her what I was thinking about, and we both knew That Would be impossible, but still hoped I could find something nice, since it was Prom season. Well, we walked over, found my size, and the 1st dress I saw was Exactly what I was looking for, the only thing I didn't like was the buttons on the bodice, but EASY FIX ! the dress was ivory chiffon and lace, it was soo perfect, and it was $ 44.99 ! I don't know who answered my prayer that day, but am forever grateful. I have always loved the flowy-type full skirt dresses, like you see in old musical/dancing type movies. I guess that's why I love the Lolita dresses so much.I love dresses especially full swingy skirts. I really enjoyed this vid. You looked beautiful in all the dresses ! I did find a Lolita style dress on line, but not in my size, unfortunately, cause I would have bought it, of course i have no place to wear it too, but I would have worn it here at home for my husband, he would have loved it. I am still looking, hoping I can find maybe a nightgown like the ones in Dracula, I have found a couple, but they cost sooo much. I keep checking thrift shops, probably my best chance
So much respect to girls who do the Lolita fashion. I was at Tokyo Disney & I saw a girl dressed in a Lolita outfit with Disney inspired accessories. She looked adorable but I can't imagine the outfit was comfortable for a themed park. I myself was cranky with the hot weather & having to walk everywhere in the crowds & I was just casual clothes. I could never do that for hours in heels, layers of clothing & accessories. So major appreciation to the girls who can pull it off with such ease.
THIS IS AN AMAZING EXAMPLE OF OTT LOLITA Of course this was done professionally so usually most lolitas don't go this far when dressing up to go out, because it would be too time consuming. You looked awesome!
Late to commenting but as a photographer I enjoy seeing shoots because it really shows what goes on behind the scenes and how we create these gorgeous looks for people.
Thank you for actually doing some research before you posted this! I feel that the Lolita style gets a lot of negative attention for no reason at all. #petticoat goals I know this might be a weird and personal question, but how did you come to model Lolita in Japan? It has secretly been a dream of mine for years, and I would love to know how it might be possible to have such an amazing opportunity.
I normally pay no heed to lolita fashion but omg this is absolutely so beautiful and lovely! This makes me change my perspective of this fashion. The hairstyles was wow (your hair colour suits the hairstyles omg so pretty!! It's eyecatching I think??) , and the costumes were so detailed and wonderfully done I love the team's dedication especially adjusting the model's costumes and taking care of the model making sure that she'll be in good hands:)
I want to model VERY VERY BADLY!! I took Japanese for 3 years and have dreamt of being in a Japanese magazine since I was 15. Seeing this video made me cry.
Faye Skelly ....You realize I meant all the drama that's going on right, like the one stereotype that the lolita community has is that we're all out for each other's throats? have you never been on behind the bows?? lmaoo And yes i'm aware it's not ACTUALLY that bad it's literately just a joke (and to be fair whens the last time you heard about drama in any other kei fashions lol)
I love that they actually used your face and didn't photoshop your features too much because you are beautiful the way you are and it bothers me when companies photoshop you until you don't even look like you anymore. The shoot was absolutely stunning and you're beautiful as always, Tay.
Lol Taylor! “Marilyn Manson likes and approves of this hoodie” 😂😂 someone’s already bid on it! I wonder if you’ll make a profit.... I like to think there is a rich Taytertot (however you spell it, we call them potato gems in Australia) out there, who just decides to bid like $2000 on it haha.
I'm not the type of person who would wear Lolita outfits on a daily basis, I'm more casual and cozy type. But I would like to try it once! Because I actually LOVE CUTE THINGS!
You looked so beautiful!!!! The crew seemed so lovely too :)
I love everything you said about how they do photoshoots and everything else! And also that part where theyre trying to get the dress and veil to fly up perfectly over and over was just too adorable and silly
The hair... the makeup... the outfits... the set... so perfect!
Everything’s ... so.. aesthetic! 😍
i am so early omgosh 😂 i loved your hair and makeup in this shoots! i love these kind of videos and i hope we get to see more of this in the future. your description of the lolita fashion is also spot on. love love!
Even the bib they used when doing your makeup is cute 😆😆😆
I LOVE LOVE LOVE how much research you did before releasing this video, you go girl!
Holy crap you looked so ethereal, who knew you could look even more pretty than you already do. Big kudos to the the whole crew who were able to make you look like a princess from a fairy tale~! The makeup, clothing, setting -- everything perfectly fit together!! Oh, and especially the cat haha~
I loved those dresses!
I love how your still wearing that jumper hahaha 💟
She looks so pretty. I LOVE the second dress!!
I had no idea I would like Lolita fashion this much!!! The dresses are absolutely gorgeous! Really cool to see behind the scenes modeling for photos.
I love the Lolita fashion it’s just so beautiful and elegant 😊
I don't usually watch vlogs but u r so entertaining as well as some other youtubers.
Omg I love the more gothic looks on you!
The set and clothes and everything is just so pretty omg
I love lolita fashion and anything to do with like the renaissance era its so pretty but everything is so expensive and i have never seen a lolita shop where i live
Wow those photos came out spectacular! So gorgeous. Major props to the photographer and everyone involved
Yeah that whole Lolita meme got tarnished many times over in art, fashion, literature, and social mores. Hope with your shoot we get one more step away from the stigma. Glad you addressed it up front. The shoot was great and the end result was even greater. Look forward to more BTS.
yes indeed! (hi billie eilish fan BTW)
You are living the dream, I'm so proud to see you do whatever you enjoy and overcoming hardships you are so inspiring thank you for everything Tay
I love this shoot you look so gorgeous in every picture!
This has got to be one of my favorite behind the scenes!!! What a magical experience for you!! Pure whimsy!!
This photo shoot is amazing. I used to dress Lolita in like 2002-2005 and this is really bringing back pleasant memories for me. You look so ethereal and pretty in these dresses. You always look beautiful but this style really suits you well!
Wow, I love the set 😍 it looks like Alice in Wonderland
Ok let's just appreciate all the detail and imagination that goes into making a lolita dress 😍
Like God I'll never were lolita style out but I just love it!
I really like these kind of BTS videos they are amazing!!
I adore the shoes!! The outfits are so modest and sweet you can't help but simile, they have a fairy-like effect to them!
Wow, what a pretty photoshoot! The outfits, hair, makeup and scenery/setting, were all so perfect and well thought out. The staff also seem really nice and friendly :) Looked like you had a good time too! Thanks for sharing this with us, Taylor~
The sadness in my heart when someone who looks perfect in Lolita isn't an actual Lolita... But thanks for lending your dolly looks to our fashion!
Taylor USED to be. Check out her first videos.
Lolita is not a character or identity ok. It's just a fashion.
Omg you look like a bride in the second outfit😍😍🤗😍
So major appreciation to the girls who can pull it off with such ease.
that screen shoot at 2:48, now that is a good cover, a smile of indulgence.
Fact :
In Spanish "miel" means "honey"
(Thanks for reading)
Same in french :3
If only I were not ugly, I'd do that too.
Bang YoTan *sigh* if I wasn't ugly and broke
#ifeelyou
Does she have. Skin care routine!? Oml! I need to know how she keeps it so clean!!
THIS IS AN AMAZING EXAMPLE OF OTT LOLITA
Of course this was done professionally so usually most lolitas don't go this far when dressing up to go out, because it would be too time consuming. You looked awesome!
Late to commenting but as a photographer I enjoy seeing shoots because it really shows what goes on behind the scenes and how we create these gorgeous looks for people.
'Taylor R uploaded a new video' throws homework down
Thank you for actually doing some research before you posted this! I feel that the Lolita style gets a lot of negative attention for no reason at all.
#petticoat goals
I know this might be a weird and personal question, but how did you come to model Lolita in Japan?
It has secretly been a dream of mine for years, and I would love to know how it might be possible to have such an amazing opportunity.
Wow! You look like a doll
I loooove that style of vlog, when you tell a story and then show the images !
*"Look at the cat!"*
Omg that is litterally me.
OMG love this fotoshoot..and the outfits are stunning... U really look gorgeous ... 😍😍😍😍😍😜
Loved it……I did a shoot in Hkg in 1966 for Vancouver Life magazine. A VERY LONG TIME AGO BUT MEMORIES AND PHOTOS ARE
LOVELY….
My god these dresses are all so gorgeous!
Also love your poses, they fit the lolita aesthetic so well!
I wanna get married in the dress with the sheer puffy sleeves
ha ha Me too! I love that dress!
I want to model VERY VERY BADLY!! I took Japanese for 3 years and have dreamt of being in a Japanese magazine since I was 15. Seeing this video made me cry.
I don't think people understand how wholesome the Lolita subculture is, or that it's a subculture that is by women, for women.
did you just say wholesome and lolita in the same sentence lmao are you new here
Poison Alice Like anything else, it's only as sexual as you make it. And it seems like you make it pretty sexual. Don't get upset if others don't.
Anyone can wear lolita however, not just woman
omg you look SO PRETTY IN THOSE CLOTHES im amazed, It's like they were made for you!!!
I love that they actually used your face and didn't photoshop your features too much because you are beautiful the way you are and it bothers me when companies photoshop you until you don't even look like you anymore. The shoot was absolutely stunning and you're beautiful as always, Tay.
I love Juliet et Justine shoots. Everything looks whimsical and you look lovely in them
What is Juliet et Justine? Isn't that a Marquis de Sade story?
got2many *Juliette et Justine is the name of the brand she's modelling for in this video.

Bippidotchi vm
You look absolutely gorgeous!!❤️💕
amazing job with your modelling! and I really love all the efforts put in by the crew, beautiful coordinates, sets, makeups and hairstyles
This was so fun to watch! Watching the different shoots and looks were amazing x
You'd be a wonderful lolita! Why not wearing the style more often? There are so many stores in Japan you could buy the clothes from? ^^
Dream photoshoot 😍😍
