- Look, I get it. This is not exactly ham radio or parachute mobile...but it is sorta related.
I do plan on bringing this Meshtastic node with me to 14,500 feet and see how many nodes I can hear. You know...for science.

I have the same one you started with and the Bluetooth was horrible. I did the mod to replace the Bluetooth antenna with a wire. It works so much better now.
What kind of wire at what length?
3cm replace the curly cue antenna on the board I watched Hayden’s video hrdx
Are there any Meshtastic MQTT Channels used for ham interests only? Activity is sparse here, but still would like to use Meshtastic here. I am planning to reach out to local hams and try and get a decent mesh setup here, but until then, looks like I am on MQTT. Thanks for the info on your build.
Other than the hamvention channel I do not know of any ham channels but I am sure that there just have to be some.
I use hot glue on the antenna connection. You would b surprised how easy these things pop off when you have them in their case and have no idea....
I have seen that used in computers, never thought about it on an IPEX connector but it makes sense if you never intend to change it.
@@LifeAtTerminalVelocity the glue is easy to peel off if needed
They aren't 8mm, they are 5/16 😅
Nah, I checked, they are 8000 micron or 10/32. 🤣
Sooo funny
