      Glad you pointed that out. We love Kifaru & Eberlestock & Mystery Ranch & all the other pack makers out there that we use. They make awesome products and we consider it a compliment to even be mentioned in the same sentence as Kifaru for our first effort at a pack. The major differences between the FAS Pack and the Shape Charge are in the size and organization. The main pocket of the Shape Charge is 2,000 ci. Ours is half that at 1,000 ci. That's pretty significant. FAS pack also kinda goes nuts with our squadron based laser cut MOLLE on front, top, and side panels. That way you can use it however it makes sense to you. That's another significant difference. The way we built our external/side pockets/top lid is also a pretty significant difference.
      The similarities are color (they're both green and brown), and a clamshell opening (which a LOT of packs have). Hope that makes sense, Jon! Thanks for the comment.

    Took a lil bit to learn how to attach everything but once you learn it great pak. Customer service responds fast. For waist belt fans the size of this i believe would make it a chest strap. Dont work with this style n i believe dont need. I like the sleek fast design.does have a strap to keep straps on shoulders.

    My Badlands pack that I scored for $200 about 5 years ago is on its last leg. It wasn’t the most high-end bag on the market, but reviews were solid, the construction looked above average, and I can say that after 4 seasons of whitetail/turkey hunting with about 60-70 days afield that Badlands pack has done its job and will live on as a scouting/hiking pack for years to come.
    But now I’m in the market for the next level bag…
    I’ve had my eye on a few bags lately, but as a saddle hunter who happens to use all Tethrd gear… this is looking fantastic.
    Hope to see the Tethrd folk back at the Great American Outdoors show in PA this winter. If so, you’ll likely get my money. Bag looks great.

    Great pack! But there's still a market for a smaller simplistic pack for a one sticker. Maybe around a 500 cubic inch. But I like individual pockets and bands to hold my gear. As long as it's usable. Places for tree saw, bow holder arm, calls, kill kit, ranger finder, scents etc.

  • @BT.MediaCT

    Great looking pack. Looks almost perfect. I'm 50/50 on the waist belt. I know a lot of people are shocked it doesn't come with one but, in my experience it tends to get in the way when trying to haul up a tree. But would be great fr hiking in. I also dislike a ton of wait on my shoulders. In. perfect world a removable wait belt would be amazing, but when the pack is already at $400 (not including the predator pack). I'm sure a waist belt would have jacked the price even higher out of the majority of hunters budgets. As far as the price, I almost choked, cried a little and closed the browser. I wont hate on it thought. They set a goal to make it American made because that's important to them. Props to Tethrd for that. Unfortunately very far out of my price range for the foreseeable future. This would have made a great deer & turkey Hunting/dayhiking/photography outing carry on backpack. Maybe one day.

      Great Comment!!! Love your perspective. The waist belt...we tested FAS Pack all over the country and we never needed one. We designed FAS Pack to wear high on your back so it doesn't get in the way of the Phantom saddle on your hips...which made the waist belt kinda pointless. However, you can add one (from the compression kit that comes with the pack) if you need it. We figured that was the best of both worlds.

    Received my FAS PACK and absolutely LOVE this pack it's exactly what I have been looking for. I have purchased over a dozen other packs and a multitude of accessories trying to come up with that perfect pack for saddle hunting with no luck until now. Please keep designing top notch products for the mobile hunting world.
    I have two questions in regard to this video you show 4) different pack configurations sitting on the table from left to right you stated the second one which is Ernie's what bag is on the front, also on the forth pack with the predator pack on it what bag is on the front of that one. Please let me know so I can order one of each to play around with how I want to set up my FAS PACK.

    I'm not sure if yall are already working on it but I thought I would add some feedback. For those of us that don't run the predator platform/pouch it would be nice if yall could design a storage pouch compression panel that attaches the same way as the predator pouch. This would also alleviate the problem you speak of in this video of it not being a 4 season pack. I could see myself running it for 3 seasons without a compression pouch. Then add a compression panel to store/compress large outer layers. Just a thought. Thanks

  • @festes81
    @festes81 Рік тому

    Looks awesome. My predator pack has a couple light pouches and a water bottle pouch hanging from it. It's caused the strap/hook that keeps the platform compartment closed to come nearly un-stiched. I added the nicer shoulder straps. Those connection points are coming loose. It'll just take a bit of sewing to repair everything, but I'd have hoped it would last longer than 2 years. Let's see some videos on construction characteristics for this one. That'd really help me make a decision on buying one.

    Yes!!! Great job addressing and being honest that every product has weaknesses. Over all, I think you have a great product here. I love the versatility. In keeping with the mobility offered by my Tethrd tree saddle, I’m often hunting far from my car. Is there a way to use it as a meat hauler at the end of a hunt? We had this discussion many many times. We kept coming back to this idea: to make this pack in America it was always going to be really expensive compared to packs made overseas. That's just a fact. And to charge $300+ dollars for an American made pack, we felt like were doing a disservice to the customer if we didn't make it bomb proof. Can you imagine spending $300 on a pack and then the fleece rips the first season? I'd be pissed. We didn't feel like that was acceptable. That's why we chose Cordura. BUT we totally understand where you're coming from.

    Interesting design decisions. You can really see the team’s love of Kifaru and the eberlestock bandit.

    it's a nice pack, but the price is a little high. Just because it's made in the USA doesn't mean it should come with a higher price. It seems to be over priced by $75 - $100. The Eberlestock Reneagade is $249 and the Eberlestock Bandit is $149. Both are comparable and similar pack to the FAS Pack. It has a lot of MOLLE Webbing, but realistically not all of it will be used. I do like the pack, but not for that price. I would just buy the Eberlestock X2 Pack which is $289 and I wouldn't have to add a compression kit.

    • @TethrdNation
      @TethrdNation  Рік тому +1

      Great feedback. By the way...the Compression Kit comes WITH the pack now. Nothing extra to buy unless you want the Predator Pack. Eberlestock makes awesome packs. I've owned the Bandit, X2, and Just One Packs from Eberlestock. Loved them all for different reasons. However, I will have to disagree with you about the Made In America price increase. We could make FAS Pack SIGNIFICANTLY cheaper (about the numbers you described) if we made it overseas like Eberlestock does. Don't get me wrong... we make some of our products overseas...there's no shame in that. And we're not claiming packs made overseas are somehow inferior to packs made in the USA. That isn't true at all. But we wanted this pack to be bomb proof and Made in the USA. Unfortunately...that's expensive to make. You also have the issue of scale. Tethrd is a small company. Eberlestock can buy down their prices SIGNIFICANTLY because of their high volume of packs. We can't do that. So when you support small businesses, started by real saddle hunters, like Tethrd, you're going to often pay a little more. Thanks for the comment.

    • @lamontbell
      @lamontbell Рік тому

      @@TethrdNation I really appreciate the response and interaction. I'm all in for support for small businesses, that's why I buy Tethrd products. However, when it comes to price and something that's comparable, I would pick the cheaper of the two any day. I see your point though, but I don't think you have an issue with scale, just pricing. Tethrd is a well known brand and everyone and their momma buy your products; that's why a lot of your products are always Out of stock. The Tethrd FAS Pack is a modular pack that's $350 and If you add accessories, it could easily cost $500 or more, but I also know that everything cost more these days not because it's made in the USA.
