Thank you for saying that. She may feel that way because she is a celebrity. Her life is fine. Us regular people can be affected by that in far worse ways.
It’s subjective. I don’t think she was saying being bullied is beneficial so much as she was saying that it toughened her up, which was beneficial. She didn’t crumble under her harassment, she came out the other side fortified. That’s why she made the immune system comparison. Nobody thinks getting sick is fun or positive but if it doesn’t kill you, it literally makes you stronger. Your body knows how to handle that virus the next time it comes around and it doesn’t hit you as hard. There’s experience gained.
I get what you are saying but she holds a valid point. I grew up having to defend myself. The schools I went to any could be getting "blazed on" (making fun of) at any day of the week. When it was your turn you learned how to stand up for yourself.
FEARLESSly MIACAMICHELLE yes, learning to stand up for yourself is such a vital lesson and there’s no other way to learn it than to actually be put in positions to have to do it. You can talk to your kid all day but it’s theory until they put it into practice. And it’s best learned young. She said “ you can get in trouble for starting a fight but you can’t for finishing one” its always the people who finished the fight are seen as the bad ones
@Javier Ruiz she was more in denial. You really need to stop judging people. She couldn't believe it because it was someone apart of their family. And now she is admitting that it happened
Encourage ur kids to stand up for themselves verbally first. Eventually they start standing up for themselves physically without u having to tell them. I taught private pre-K & at that age, they tell the teacher everything. When they tell me a classmate hit them I tell them “stand up for ur self & tell them not to hit u again”...they don’t hesitate to go over to the classmate & use their voice & of course I back them up. Eventually their voice turns into actions. They go from “don’t hit me” to actually defending themselves physically without me having to tell them to “hit them back”...I’ve even witnessed other students encouraging one another to stand up for themselves & they do it. It’s not the traditional way, but I encourage children’s independence to help better prepare them for the real world. Not just to go around hitting others, but to instead defend themselves. Coddling is crippling.
I really liked this conversation Tamera said it best "You'll get in trouble for starting a fight but you won't get in trouble for finishing one Right there, always stand up for yourself, then let the adults sort it out
Dude, Amanda is such an incredible guest co-host! I would not be mad if she became a permanent addition to the show, her energy is awesome and she's so well-spoken and funny
Tamera is straight up preaching, but Jeanie’s mom left me in tears! This is your house, she in your territory! She don’t know where we keep the knives & chicken grease LMAO! My grandfather taught me that, you don’t *EVER* go to someone else’s house to pick a fight. That’s their house so naturally, they have the advantage.
I'm signing up my kids for selfdefence. And imma teach my children that walking away from a fight is more powerful of a choice than giving into one, it's important to pick your battles and is beautiful when you stand up for others.
Absolutely. I'm a teacher and feel the same way. There needs to be more conversation than just "if someone hits you hit them back" Discussing how to problem solve way before the problem even starts to get physical.
Omg I love Tam Tam, I believe she can brawl, them sweet one and quiet and shy ones be having the hands forrealz, I'm the same myself, Don't condone violence either but defend and stand up for yourself Periodttt
As a previous teacher, a lot of times "he hit me!" was just the kid walking too close to them. These kids are mad clumsy. But instead of keeping a cool head, these roughnecks want to get in a shoving match over accidentally getting into someone's space which is what you not going to do. Now other times, if my kids bothered to tell me, I warned the other that once I can understand is an accident. Multiple times you clearly want a fight and I'd tell the first kid to do what they got to do. Now one of the reasons I quit is because you can get mad at a teacher all you want "for not doing anything" but let you say one thing to these kids, and then parents want to get on you for that. And yes I mean telling a kid to stop and putting them in punishment for Lord knows how long because they wouldn't stop and would do the same thing everyday. Those parents would question me and ask how could they have a bad day everyday. I would just stop telling them. Kids are God in the classroom. I had to go.
My whole point was what do ppl expect teachers to do? We just had a teacher get fired the other day for breaking up a fight. The teacher must have "hurt" one of the fighters and the parent got mad and reported it to higher authorities. So what is expected of the teacher? We can't do nothing!!
tia carr. Send them out of the room, and show them you are serious. I’ve had many stern teachers in my time and no one would ever act a fool in class because the teacher did not play. I have also had teachers, especially in High School, instigate arguments. The teacher would laugh at the jokes that were made against students from the “popular” kids and laugh and tell the popular kids, “ok that’s enough”. It was enough the first few times but you did nothing and laughed alongside them. There’s a lot teachers can do, but they choose not to. My step mom have her PHD in education and have been teaching different age groups for quite some time and they take her seriously and she’s well respected with the parents. In fact she’s an amazing teacher.
Shamonica stanfield I'm not saying I'm not stern. In my class I dont have discipline issues. But I can only control what goes on in MY class. And let me point out I work at an inner city school where all of my students get free lunch. I have students who gang bang and those that have issues that goes pass not having food, shelter, and a caring parent. I can talk to these kids all day until my face turn blue, write them up, set the example and put them out (which I can't do, or I'll get in trouble if they did something in the hallway i.e. like running a train on a female student with his friends in a back room ), and call their parent, I can not stop a child from picking on another on their own time. Oh and I'm a high school teacher...
tia carr. I was speaking from my experience, and many others who have witnessed teachers not do anything, but be apart of the problem. I’m not talking about what goes on in hallways, and other classes. I’m talking about teachers who have no control over their class, and does nothing when they see issues taken place in their classroom. It’s shameful. I understand there’s more students than there are teachers but teachers know who’s the troublemakers in their class but does nothing.
Growing up my parents taught us not to fight, but if someone starts it you finish it. When the Lord blesses me with kids I will teach them the same thing. Tam had me dying at the end. The truth is the quiet one are the ones who will beat you down in a minute over someone they love.
That's ridiculous if anybody hits you who jus gon sit there and tell. If somebody hits you first, on purpose, you hit them back cuz there isn't always a teacher isn't always around
i’m gonna be a guest on The Real one day mark my words.. and i’m gonna be on the girl chat segment and it’s gonna be real juicy lmao i literally sit here wanting to butt into the conversation and say my peace 😂
I like the saying but if doesn’t always be like that tho. Some people will talk smack or start something with you even if you’re minding your own business. Which is annoying...
Yeah if being hit by parent's it's fully justified to hit them abusive, cruel assholes back. It's funny how when someone is "physically bullying" you they all advocate hitting that person back unless that bully is them.
As a trinidadian Caribbean person we literally grow up hearing if they hit you hit them back . And that's probably why we have so much fights down here
I will tell them the same thing my mom told me "if someone put their hand on you, then you better hit them 10 times harder or you better hope I can't find a belt"
Yessss!! Tamera said it just like i tell my nieces and nephews & will tell my children you are to first tell the teacher and if nothing is done and that kid hits you again let em have it and teachers need to take it more seriously when the children come to them.

I died when Adrienne said" i will climb someone for you Loni".
Tamara is too funny!! She’s so down to earth, but I can see that feisty side to her. Lol
She said “ you can get in trouble for starting a fight but you can’t for finishing one” its always the people who finished the fight are seen as the bad ones
My mom always told me “You better never start a fight, but you damn well better finish it.”
Tamera's "come on, Tia!" at the end was soo cute 😂 I love her lmao
2:57 “ Wait, why you hide..What happeninnng? “!😂😂😂 Jeanie’s Mama Mai impressions yo 😂😂
Mama Mia is wild 😂💀
I lost at “CMON TIA” I swear it had me rolling
Jeanie mom a G dangg lol
Javier Ruiz come on now
@@ShayMarie.00 lmfaooo right. out of pocket with that comment
@Javier Ruiz she was more in denial. You really need to stop judging people. She couldn't believe it because it was someone apart of their family. And now she is admitting that it happened
Tamara just killed me with that come on Tia that's a meme right there🤣🤣🤣🤣
L.O.L!!!...I love Tamera. She is so cute and hilarious with her stories. The other ladies are like *side eye*😑 ..😂😂
I really liked this conversation
Tamera said it best
"You'll get in trouble for starting a fight but you won't get in trouble for finishing one
Right there, always stand up for yourself, then let the adults sort it out
@Mandi Arena If the child is going to the adults and the adults aren't handling it, then the child has the right to defend themselves
For a black kid especially that’s not always true. Racism is often on the bully’s side
@@victoriaabbey3525 An unfortunate truth Indeed
When she said believe it or not I can actually brawl 🤣🤣
Did Tam say "wit a knife in my hand" 😂
Tam had to get in there.lol😂😂😂
But for real, stand up for yourself. Don't let others push you around.
"Don't start none won't be none!" 💅🏼 mommy will always have your back!
Dude, Amanda is such an incredible guest co-host! I would not be mad if she became a permanent addition to the show, her energy is awesome and she's so well-spoken and funny
I just love Tamera😭
Yes those 2 cats better stick up for themselves lol
Jeannie LOVE your hairdo!!!!!! You look like a princess.👸❣
They should turn the other cheek, BUT... they only have two cheeks. So........ ☕️ 🐸
Right? I be like, you said turn the other cheek, but you didn't say turn both of em. We fightin'. It's on if you put your hands on me.😂🤣
Lmfaoo
I loved what Amanda said. I kinda want my kids to grow up like me. It’s developed me into the person I am and made me better
Y'all dont understand how much I love Tamera! 😩😂😂😂😂💗
If someone hits you, you hit them back. PERIOD.
Not in every case but go off sis
Dont pick on anyone...bullies are NOT cool...but, if someone hits you, teach them a lesson!!
Listen it’s always the quiet one don’t underestimate tam tam
I swear I love Tamera. "Believe it or not you guys, I actually know how to brawl."
Lmfao Tamera at the end hahahaa
Never start a fight but you damn sure better finish it ! Protect yourself
Omg I love Tam Tam, I believe she can brawl, them sweet one and quiet and shy ones be having the hands forrealz, I'm the same myself, Don't condone violence either but defend and stand up for yourself Periodttt
I love Amanda on this show !! She keeps it REAL, educate on black awareness, and she puts things in a different perspective. Love her.
MissRight91 well said 😊
My whole point was what do ppl expect teachers to do?
I'm loving this Amanda ❤️❤️❤️❤️ loni "I could have been the substitute teacher" 😂😂😂😂
I really want Adrienne to have her family but lord Jesus this BODY she’s serving rn
Growing up my parents taught us not to fight, but if someone starts it you finish it. When the Lord blesses me with kids I will teach them the same thing.
Tam had me dying at the end. The truth is the quiet one are the ones who will beat you down in a minute over someone they love.
Idk why people fighting is so common in America, I've only ever heard of one fight from friends of a friend lol
This entire segment has me WEAK💀💀
Don’t START NO MESS won’t be NO MESS that’s what I was taught 🤷🏾♀️🤷🏾♀️🤷🏾♀️🤷🏾♀️🤷🏾♀️🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
The girl on the thumbnail is gorgeous af
As a trinidadian Caribbean person we literally grow up hearing if they hit you hit them back . And that's probably why we have so much fights down here
I will tell them the same thing my mom told me "if someone put their hand on you, then you better hit them 10 times harder or you better hope I can't find a belt"
Yessss!! Tamera said it just like i tell my nieces and nephews & will tell my children you are to first tell the teacher and if nothing is done and that kid hits you again let em have it and teachers need to take it more seriously when the children come to them.
