I love this game, I found it really fun back in the day. The world is huge and varied. As you gain more elemental powers you can start to combine them in different ways to get even more abilities. The enemies and environment react differently to each elemental power and combination so it keeps getting more complex and interesting as it goes.
I love that so many people have great memories of this game! Mixing up the elements is such a great game mechanic, I wish more games were that creative!
I love this game, I played it so much growing up and more recently through emulation. There are so many things to do and see, and it's so satisfying when you solve a puzzle you've been working on for ages
It's such a different kind of game, and the elemental powers were a great mechanic! So many people have told me how much they love this game, would be an amazing remake!
I didnt realize how unknown this game was until i tried to look up videos about it lol. Thanks for covering it and making the video enjoyable to watch :)
Thanks for watching! I've heard from quite a few Azurik fans after I made this video, I'm so glad there are people who had great memories of playing the game!
Loved this game. Among the first 4 titles I had for Xbox. Great soundtrack as well. OXM gave it a 3.7 rating which was scandelous! Easily one of the most epic games ever made.
A 3.7? 😮 Jeez that's low for such a fun game with mechanics that were pretty groundbreaking for it's time! Maybe if we make enough noise, there'll be a remake!
You should finish it! This game is one of my favorites ever and there's so much to love in it. A shame that some of the early sequences are confusing and kinda rough, as the game as a whole is a lovely adventure
Oh I think I will! Once you get used to the controls and general jank, it's really interesting! Am looking forward to seeing what combat is like with all the elements!
Microsoft backed themselves into a corner with the og Xbox design. The licensing meant that they struggled to reduce the price as they’d be paying the same price for some of the components essentially forever. The 360 was a massive redesign using stuff they could control better but that means it’s complete incompatible and also ruled out the Sony plan of “literally put a ps1 in the machine” to do bc, because if they had it would have added £150 to the cost. Weirdly if anything the very similar ps5 and Xbox series designs are if anything closer to the og box.
Oh wow, I love learning the lesser known facts in gaming! Such a shame backwards compatibility has taken a back seat on modern consoles...unless you go digital...but that's just not the same!
That beard wag... This does look like an interesting, if VERY early-2000s janky, experience! Thank you for calling attention to it - I think I need to give it a shot!
Isn't this the game that advertised it as having no loading screens? I remember my mums boyfriend at the time bought it as on the back it said there were no loading screens
Oh really? I didn't even notice 😆 I'll have to pay more attention next time I play it...but that's such a cool thing to have and so ahead of it's time!
I got this in the collection too as it's exclusive, looks pretty decent, though not quite as polished as similar games around that time maybe! xD Clearly inspired by Shadow Man and Soul Reaver I'd say.
I miss the days when they tried to flesh out 8-bit tropes with 32-bit jank on hardware capable of so much more. It was so sincere and awkward and completely charming... It offered an escape unlike any other.
Playing this reminded me of Saturday mornings as a kid, just having fun with a game for a couple of hours! Also, I miss the days of putting a disc in and just playing it...no updates or patches! 😆
Was it an underrated classic? LOL! No, It was kinda bad. but it had a lot of potential and deserves a full remake, including the Wind Life and death realms being totally redesigned because my God those levels where TERRIBLE!
Oh a full remake would be amazing! And ya, redesigning the levels wouldn't be a bad thing either...just keep the soul of the game and give it a few modern and HD tweaks
an underrated classic? there is a reason why some game never came on different consoles or platforms. In this game you can not even reassign the controls! It is at best a 5,5-6/10
It's less about the overall presentation of the game, and more about the mechanics and ideas that were implemented for the first time, or in an interesting way. As for the controls, the face buttons were assigned to the colours of the elements, so changing them would have kinda defeated the purpose 😆

I want a remaster of this game so bad. It's definitely my all time favorite nostalgia game
Me too! It's got all the fun mechanics modern players would enjoy, and it would hook original Xbox players back in to the world!

I kinda feel Azurik came out 20 years too early. It would fit right in as your typical open world 3rd person action RPG game in the 2020s.
Oh totally! It was way ahead of it's time and in need of a remaster!
I owned this game, but for some unknown reason, I never played it. Same day I got it I also got Sudeki... ahh memories
Aw it's a great game! If you ever get the chance to give it a go, I highly recommend it 😊

I never got to play this game but I wish I could.
I will forever remember how the deep ocean part scared me :c but apart from that it was a decent game!
Oh ya I hate deep water in any game 😆 loads of people have told me how much they love this game and it's easy to see why!
This game is in my ol' backlog. Glad to see a bit more of it in your video.
It's a fun one to play! Definitely gets more interesting the further through you get!
That's a pleasant looking romp!

No worries! You should definitely give it a go, just enough jank that makes it fun 😆
if thiis game got polished, it would blow the fuck up. Microsoft needs a zelda like game
Agreed! If they did a remaster am sure loads of people would play and love it!
I always tell people Azurik was like the Ocarina of Time for Xbox
I have that game for OG XBOX!! Wonderful game
I had fun playing it!
Man, i am trying finding that a ton of old xbox games are incredibly dark with no brightness sliders.
I think that's one of my biggest qualms about retro gaming...some games are so dark! I just wanna see where am going 🤣
Isn't this the game that advertised it as having no loading screens? I remember my mums boyfriend at the time bought it as on the back it said there were no loading screens

I've just started looking at original Xbox titles. not heard of this one. I like the idea of collecting the Only on xbox titles.
That's a great idea! You might stumble across some real gems that were forgotten
I got this in the collection too as it's exclusive, looks pretty decent, though not quite as polished as similar games around that time maybe! xD Clearly inspired by Shadow Man and Soul Reaver I'd say.
Wow this is old!
😆 and still fun to play!
@@okgamergirl agreed!
This games gives me legacy of kain vibes 🤣 really cool game tho
I don't mind if games are a bit janky as long as they're fun
My feelings exactly!
Balthasarrr!!! I forbid it!
Now say it with a plastic beard 🤣
Shit hot content as always GG
😁 thank you!

Are you having a stroke? Do you need me to call someone?

@@okgamergirl it is the thumbstick buttons that are badly designed. Also the jump button should never be the Y button. That is retarded.
