So i've tried all of this and still cannot slew the TDC. It is uncaged on left DDI with TDC assigned to left as well. Regardless of whether or not I hold the TDC depress or dont I cannot slew the TDC in any direction. As soon as I uncage the crosshairs disappear and i get 3 little horizontal lines. I can only slew the screen on the right in this demonstration. Are we supposed to be able to slew the screen that where we can see if we're caged or uncaged? I can't move that one at all. My master arm switch is on. I love DCS, but I absolutely hate the time theft. It takes entirely too long to learn how to even fire this missle. It took me an hour to figure out how to move around the camera even after following this doc. Now I'm moving way too fast, I can never find a target, how do you get the pod to actually move so on my screen it looks like I'm stationary like the way an AC130 gunship screen looks? As it is, it looks like I'm sticking my head out the window of the car and staring straight down into the street while driving 35 mph and somehow I'm supposed to be able to pick targets like this?
@@bryonmiller6311 it sounds like you arent using the targeting pod at all, it is supposed to automatically stay put on a given point like an AC 130. If you are looking at the missiles seeker, its going to be moving across the ground. This is retarded to ask, but are you taking the Litning targeting pod with you? Did you turn it on? Hit the cooling switches? Set the DDI to FLIR, ect? It shouldn't be possible for it to be skimming across the ground like that if it is not caged to boresight.
Super late as I just figured it out myself and saw this thread minutes ago but, it seems you have to hold the TDC depressed button while pressing the desired TDC button in order to move the seeker Basically - you see a target and want to move down left to - hold TDC depressed then move TDC down and left.
I've finally figured it out. You need to use the sensor control switch and use the left and right keys and move the cursor to the screen you have the mavericks on and then a small diamond should appear on the top right of the screen of the mavericks. After that you should be able to uncage.
Hello, in orden to use the MAV 65F with the TPOD, I seek for the target in the TPOD, uncage the Maverick and then I press sensor right (where it is the FLIR)and TDS Depress and Launch. For the Second Maverick is the same or do I have to undesignate?

Hello, I ask you, without Flir, if I use the left panel to lock the AGM 65F, everything is fine, but when I get to lock a point on the ground from the Hud I can't unlock it again, cage/uncage doesn't work, if I go back to the panel left and put ungage back to look at the point I assigned in the hud. Well there are plenty of youtubers who do slower, more in-depth tutorials. Grim Reapers do the fast tutorials when you just need the most concrete information quickly.
Dont think you can make a tgt point with the HUD carrying MAVs only, you need a bomb of some sort for the ball and chain to come up, a bit annoying to say the least, also once Mav has tracked to tgt point, sometimes it doesnt lock, you then need to undesignate it to move the Mav seeker, also a PITA..nice Video

He might have said "Central", not "Sensor". I somehow muddled through on my other computer but I still can't launch a Maverick because there's a cross through it.Its supposed to be warming up but I don't get a countdown counter..
I think that he basically means that control of the Maverick is being assigned to the left DDI and from that point, you can use your throttle designator controller to control the Maverick's FOV.
TDC slow keys. Some people have to also press and hold TDC Depress to slew. ALSO remember to ensure you have assigned TDC to the correct MDF else slew won't work.
Depends on what you want. If you want more helo-air-to ground-action, the KA-50 is right for you. But if you want more air-to-air combat, don't go for the mirage. Its missiles are very bad and it doesn't carry a lot of them. Also, it has practically no air to ground capability compared to most other modules. If you want long-range air-to air, go F/A-18, if you want to dogfight, go F-16 (but it is very early access right now), F14 or F/A-18. Mirage only if you are REALLY into this plane for personal reasons.

The other night I was trying this against a ship but I could never get the cross to go away telling me the thing was ready. I was in A/G with Master Arm on, I had the ship at a waypoint and designated it as a target. The missile was timed out and I had the sensor control on that screen. I press and hold the TDC control and try to slew it with the TDC hat but nothing happened. All of this and it was still crossed out. Thing is, I got close enough and just for grins I pressed and held the weapon release, the cross went away, the seeker locked onto the target and the missile fired and hit the target. It actually acted like the laser Maverick. I have verified the loadout and it has the IIR Mavericks on it. Also, there's no laser targeting pod loaded so I don't know how it could have locked onto a laser, but that's what it acted like. I dunno what I'm doing wrong (or right?) but I somehow got a laser Maverick to act like an IIR Maverick without a laser on board, and I fired all four missiles that way.
But lets make no mistake. When bad ass engineers were tasked to make the modern jet fighter...they went nutz. They made them bad ass looking, because of course. And they made the systems so complicated because well its a jet fighter. Yeah, make it efficent, but boys will boys and make some dope shit. Whats the fun in it, if its not cool as fuck. The computer programmers, where like "yeah, lets make it super complicated." And you know what I love it. I wish I designed jet fighters.

I installed that MFD color mod for my F/A-18C. So my shit is yellow. But when I got into AGM-65F or E mode..I have like a real graphic on my MFD. Its not all green and shitty looking..well its not shitty. But, what I have looks way better. Is it because of this mod...or was there an upgrade? Because I see, high resolution mountains and shit. It is all white and black. From the images I saw on Google. The modern F/A-18E has black and white MFD's. Basically all I am asking is it the mod..or did DCS update Hornet to be more modern. Because my MFD for the AGM looks nothing like this video. Not all green and stuff. I can actually see the mountains in fairly high detail, as per my specific little bombing mission I made to follow this video.
But the MFD's are monochrom TV's. Thats why they are green. The MPCD is more advanced. But I guess the super Hornets probably use...I dunno digital displays, like your computer moniitor. But honestly, I think, it was designed that way..to give it that "Jet Fighter" look. Or a military feel. If you like this stuff as much as I do..you might get whar I am saying.

DCS probably cannot model it because its all top secret. Or that does not make sense its just colors. But DCs not offer the Super hornet. I dunno man. But the AGM-65 - A/G mode is black and white versus green. Like the the MK-84 bomb modes in CCIP is all green. So maybe this mod makes some modes black and white. Some others green. But all display information is in yellow, versus green. The MP color display map is in yellow...but green don't really help either. Just the teaxt around the MFD. Should be in blue or something.

I've finally figured it out. You need to use the sensor control switch and use the left and right keys and move the cursor to the screen you have the mavericks on and then a small diamond should appear on the top right of the screen of the mavericks. After that you should be able to uncage.

Press NWS to clear the markpoint and designation to slew.
I click the exact same buttons step by step and mine doesn't work that way.
Are you remembering to hold TDC depress when slewing? If so, then try NOT holding TDC depress when slewing.
