As someone who has been working closely with Randy for the past couple months on his Pokemon Channel, its truly devastating and couldn't have happened to a nicer guy. I whole heartedly agree with the sentiment of this video, i wasn’t a fan of Randy until i stumbled across his vlogs earlier this year, which led to the Pokemon vids and his genuine enthusiasm and love for the craft inspired me to start collecting again! Hopefully everything comes up roses for him! Glad to be here for the start of your journey too and to know i am not the only one sucked into this world by him! 😅

As a Stanz viewer i was not expecting to randomly find a Caanths pokemon channel with 17 subs in my recommended. But fair enough I do love Caanths anyways
My cards got stolen and I had some STINKERS in there that I just wanted graded for my personal collection, so I think they just took as much as they could

So happy I found your new Pokemon channel (big fan of you, Randolph and Stanz!)! We need more people like you and Randolph who are genuine and not in the hobby for greed or other purposes. Pokemon is all about community and it absolutely sucks what happened to Ace. I’ve been watching Randolph for years and he seems lime a genuinely great guy and can’t catch a break. Ace grading is the only company I grade with now because their standards for grading are so much more consistent and higher quality. Ace labels are stunning and the artists they have are incredible! Every other grading company feels cheap now compared to Ace slabs. I’ll be so angry and sad if his multi-millionaire friends don’t help out or help him raise the money.
I think Randy wants to be his own guy, and not have to rely on his friends. But I hope his pride doesn’t lead to Ace Grading dying Thanks for the kind words! 😎
I had 36 cards stolen - absolutely gutted. More for my kids as we had collected them together for the last couple of years, and created Daddy-daughter/son moments that cannot be recreated. Hope ACE bounce back because I agree, they are the best slabs - both case and label design. They do really need to beef up security though - I'm very concerned given the emotional damage this has caused, that it would be too easy to repeat the misery.
Damn that really sucks, thats what I meant by there being no monetary value that can replace some of these cards. I think thats what made randolph so upset in his video, knowing hes lost the trust of many people from this. I dont blame you for being worried about submitting in the future, but hopefully people that werent affected can help ace bounce back. And I hope you keep collecting with your kids! build some more positive memories :)
Total cards were also targeted in 2023 in a very similarly targeted robbery. Total cards didn’t get the sealed products that they had for sale but the expensive single cards were stolen. Potentially the same expert robbers as they knew exactly how to get in without setting off alarms just like with ACE they knew how to get past security.
Imagine if they bought certain card at a low price now gotta buy it again at a higher price that’s even worse. It’s gonna take an extreme miracle for ACE grading to bounce back, then all the money paid for shipping from the USA

He makes a lot of profit from this company. 500k+ a year, he can afford to rectify. It sucks, but when millions pass through that company, security should have been locked down.
Submitting with ACE regardless of the labels and cases they offer seems so pointless to me. If you have a card you believe is a 10, why would you ever send that to ACE over psa? I understand the PC part sure, but the psa slab is just straight up worth more at the current moment, AND people from the US are going to have to jump through a lot more hoops to submit with ace over a US company.
Well it’s not regardless, but I believe PSA grades aren’t as accurate as other companies. Like I said I’ve seen people resubmit cards to PSA and get different grades. I believe eventually PSA will lose value as the industry standard because their standards are so low. Yes, currently Ace has less value and PSA has more (for the same grade overall) the difference doesn’t matter right now unless you’re planning on flipping your cards for profit
@LuckyJCards I think that consistency is not a very relevant argument. PSA is the most used company so ofcourse there are going to be many examples of inconsistency. I don't personally grade or collect cards but I do grade and collect video games and have been around the card collecting hobby for 5+ years now. Stories of inconsistency are often exaggerated and I think most people that actually grade items will know how to work and play around this. PSA is not just the biggest Pokémon card grader but also the biggest card grader in general. There are many 'junk slab' companies and I don't personally see what ace currently offers that differentiates them. Having the Pokémon focus and custom labels is nice but they don't offer subgrades like Beckett (and cgc but they no longer do it), they don't have the age some of those companies have and they are located in the UK which makes submitting difficult for like 90% of the market. Had they been in the EU I could have seen the benefit a bit more. You insinuate that value only matters when reselling but I disagree. At the end of the day you are taking money, putting it into assets and keeping them. Whether you want to sell them or not making as much of your money as possible is the ideal. If you ever want to trade value matters, if you die and your next of kin has to deal with the cards value matters etc etc. I can assure you that even in the event that PSA is disgraced, their currently graded cards will see value in another 20 years, as for ace grading? I think it is likely much too early to tell and at the moment it seems to me that it isn't much more than a show of support to Randolph to grade with them, which is fine to do but not really an ideal collecting decision.

Psa is total junk. Trash slabs and lables. Inconsistant grading.
