Technically, for 28:50, your trainer ID did matter in HGSS and FRLG for shiny odds. Long story short, your TID and SID being very specific numbers would dictate how a shiny would spawn when you had a Cute charm mon in the 1st slot of your party. The process to get the right set was a headache, and it only effected mons with gender. What you would get, though, is an exponential increase in shiny encounters that was in the realm of 1/20 (If memory serves) with the opposite gender of the Cute charm mon in your party.
You could actually boost this further by having a pokemon with synchronize and cute charm in the same party, one being fainted in the first slot and the other not while in the second slot.
I'll just keep posting this until someone responds. When I was younger playing silver version on my Gameboy advanced I found a tree that when headbutted had seemingly 100% chance of finding a shiny Pineco. I caught a full team of six. I have never heard of this happening to anyone else but I swear it happened.
Was it a brand new copy or did you get it from a reseller/friend (or, perhaps even shared with a family member)?-- might be some gameshark shenanigans from the cartridge's previous owner?
Another fun fact, you can actually talk to those passerby NPCs in Castelia City. Not all of them, but every once in a while, you'll come across one that wont move out of the way, and if you talk to them, theyll have a random line
Kiwi user with a PAL diamond game: can confirm, "master of SPACE" Slightly untrue: the happiness stat in Yellow affected *one* other thing. It was still pikachu's stat that did it, but the bulbasaur wouldn't agree to join your team unless you were above a certain value. I found the Alpha reaction one out by accident, just because I had only caught one ground type when he asked. I wish I'd known earlier because I would have gone hard trying to get them all alpha/shinies. (so far I have a male and female alpha shiny Luxray, and a Lucario. Working on more) The shiny spot is locked, the pokemon is rolled on the encounter point. So theoretically you can just reset until it's the pokemon you want again. It's also why you should immediately save when you spot the shiny sparkles.

11:37 flying type background about Tornadus, that's incorrect. Unless that part of the video was some recorded before the release of Noibat and Noivern on Pokémon Go. Because I don't have a Tornadus in the game. And I saw that cloud background for the first time after hatching a Noibat from a 10 km egg sometime last year. This is because it's flying type first and Dragon second. Since then, Rookidee and Corvisquire also display the background as mono Flying types. Tornadus definitely isn't the only one.
Rookidee and Corvisquire are not released in PoGo at this moment. However, Bombirdier is and also uses the Flying background. At this moment it's only Tornadus, Noibat, Noivern and Bombirdier who are released and have the Flying background
I always knew the flashing Pokemon in the G3 credits were mine. It always ends on your starter's first evolution. Made my elementary school ass cry like a baby
In Yellow, my Seaking was not so good until it learned the Waterfall. It was insane. I thought at the time the Waterfall was one of the strongest water move.
Definitely was. I don't know why people just go to assume it was a misplaced shiny form. Most certainly was just the colors they were going with when they recorded the scene for the trailer.
3:47 before Nintendo gutted out most of the interesting things about Animal Crossing with New Horizons, all the different holidays was one of my new favourite things about that series
56:51 actually it’s closer to the After Image technique from Dragon Ball, which also came before the Naruto Shadow clone. The after image raises the ability to dodge as it leaves a realistic type of copy behind do to how quick you are, making it easier to evade an opponent’s attack.
Here is a VERY obscure and bizarre Pokemon fact: Did you know that the Pokemon move "Follow Me" still remains in effect even if you faint the mon who used it PRIOR to targeting a mon on the field that did not? Basically in double/triple battles (in gen 3 for sure I know) if the enemy uses Follow Me, you faint them, and target the mon adjacent to them BEFORE they use the move (ie, before anyone attacks), and the enemy sends out a replacement for the Follow Me user that fainted, you will STILL be forced into attacking the sot of the mon that just used Follow Me.
nope, would love that idea, and he is the first to come up with it, but I am not entirely sure if that really is how that egg works or if it perhaps works like any other egg or is shiny locked, I don't think I remember any delving into that. Pretty sure that the mew and jirachi however are shiny locked. But I am pretty sure that manaphy in legends Arceus is however locked.
Enjoying the video so far! On the topic of Pokemon GO wallpapers, noibat actually also has the flying type wallpaper since it's primary type is flying.
Bit of an interesting one i found out while trying to Time reset scum to get a Fire stone in Crystal, you cannot swap the Daylight savings time on and off around midnight, because if you did it would change the days aswell. Your Mother will instead say "i Lost the instruction booklet for the Pokégear. Please come back Later".
I haven't directly heard about others but I'd imagine a good chunk of 4D movies have been lost to time because they were really only made for those 4D events
So interesting how that fact that most flying types are part normal is the reason Larry is both a Normal AND Flying type trainer. Being one of the few trainers in the series who focuses on two types (of those that focus on a specific type). Bede is another as he starts off with Psychic types before changing to Fairy, but as he uses Galarian Rapidash and Hatterine and Gardevoir, who are ally Psychic/Fairy, he too is a rare Dual type trainer. and Raihan who is the only type specific trainer that uses a strategy rather than a type that just happens to work with Dragons. I like that they're being more creative with the type match ups. Tulip is VERY clever as she looks like a Fairy type and uses a Fighting type as her challenger almost DARING you to bring a dark type, yet she's a Psychic type gym leader, but ALL of her pokemon have answers to dark type. Making her arguably one of the smartest gym leaders in the series. Even her Tera mon is a Fairy type by default.
That animation where Pikachu uses Thunderbolt... I did this when I was a kid when the game first came out and had no idea why Pikachu did this. It's been about 26 years, and I finally got an answer!
I wanted to point out that in the Lorelei plushies section it's not Pidgeotto and Pidgeot plushes on the bookshelf, it's Pidgeot and Fearow! But that bit of trivia, along with a whole bunch of others in this compilation, were super cool and interesting to learn about regardless. Thanks for the enjoyable vid and keep up the good work!
Golem and Poliwrath being sprites you cannot see without battling online is even more funny considering Bruno both uses rock/ground types and fighting types but thought reusing Onixes was the way to go. I'd have loved for him to either use Primeape and Poliwrath or Poliwrath and Golem, personally.
Pikachu's Ocean adventure I actually own a copy but unfortunately I don't have a way to play it. I need a theater projector. My father was the manager at a theater at the time and he got my younger brother it as a collectible but he forgot it and now I own it.
11:20 Noibat and Noivern also share the Sky background in Pokemon Go because their primary type is Flying (background is based on primary type). I was so hyped when i saw it for the first time :D
"Ah, the Safari zone. The place where you try to catch low-percent pokemon until you give up, or find a shiny one, and it leaves, and you smash your game cartridge." Uh. I actually found a shiny Exeggcute in Leafgreen's Safari zone. And I caught it........
Any Pokémon that lists Flying as the first of its types has this background now. This also includes Noibat, Noivern, and Bombidier. It will also apply to Rookidee, Corvisquire, Corviknight, Cramorant, and Flamigo when they are released as obtainable in Pokémon GO.
Sapphire was my first main series game. Imagine the game trying to teach you how to catch a Pokémon, but Wally just faints the Ralts instead and then pretends to have caught it and little kid you is just so confused because you doing the exact same thing doesn't actually get you the Pokémon 😆
The wallpaper for flying types is based on the Pokémons first listed typing, which is why we didn't have it show up before Tornadus since every other flying type had flying as their secondary typing. Currently, in Pokémon go, we also have Noibat, Noivern, and Bomberdier with the Flying type background like Tornadus :)
About Dewgong's name being better than Seels, It may have almost been Manaty, now its based of the actual Dugong, which is in the same family as Manatees
This is a really good video, and I’m sure you are also proud of the numbers it is pulling in terms of views! One small criticism if I may offer, is the plosive sounds of your microphone. It’s a little difficult listening to the audio with a good headset, due to the ‘P’ and ‘B’ sounds. You are probably using a microphone guard already but it might be too close to the microphone. I have really bad plosives due to the way I speak, so I pretty much have to keep the guard a few inches from the microphone at all times, so I understand the pain.
5:35 i like how you just say some random bs with no proof or any backup to it The berserk gene is literally there because of Mewtwo. Mewtwo was a clone of Mew. Mewtwo went berserk. Mewtwo hid in Cerulean Cave. How did you not see this 😩
I admire the dedication from GameFreak when it came to representing Diglett and Dugtrio in non-battle situations, such as the Poke-athlete contest and the Gen V Theatre mode. Keeping the lore in check adds a layer of quality and depth to a franchise. Pokemon is like Disney in how magical and high-quality it is 💪❤
2:48 I'm a big fan of Pokemon Red and Blue as I grew up in in the 90's. Put when I play Pokemon Gold and silver I'd have to say that is still one of my favorite games. I remember the scene with the Clefairy the first time I thought that was so cool.. although I have to admit I was disappointed with how there was no more cave.
In pokemon go, the primary type decides the background, so tornadus isn't the only one with flying; noibat, noivern, and bombirdier all have primary flying type.
Hello! I just saw this video! I was a proud owner of a toys r us Arceus actually! Infact, I even transferred it into the HG/SS to do the SInjoh ruins event.
The Bust A Groove music being played at this tandom Japanese game store at 42:40 was such a junpscare
I love Shorty song, i'd love to be browsing games randomly while this is blasting in the background
I'll just keep posting this until someone responds. When I was younger playing silver version on my Gameboy advanced I found a tree that when headbutted had seemingly 100% chance of finding a shiny Pineco. I caught a full team of six. I have never heard of this happening to anyone else but I swear it happened.
A glitch?
Was it a brand new copy or did you get it from a reseller/friend (or, perhaps even shared with a family member)?-- might be some gameshark shenanigans from the cartridge's previous owner?
@@HEELY. brand new. Got it with my gba ca 2002. Only occurred that one playthroigh despite checking every time. I could tell you the exact tree.
That's wild. 😂 I cant think of a reason. Shininess came from stats back then but I presumed all wild pokemon have random stats
that’s so cool!!!
Another fun fact, you can actually talk to those passerby NPCs in Castelia City. Not all of them, but every once in a while, you'll come across one that wont move out of the way, and if you talk to them, theyll have a random line
Kiwi user with a PAL diamond game: can confirm, "master of SPACE"
Slightly untrue: the happiness stat in Yellow affected *one* other thing.
Working on more)
The shiny spot is locked, the pokemon is rolled on the encounter point. So theoretically you can just reset until it's the pokemon you want again. It's also why you should immediately save when you spot the shiny sparkles.
The duality of Phin. One video he could be in all of the feels with midwest emo music in a softlock video then going back to these fun videos. (Not saying the softlock video wasnt fun. It was very fun just wasnt what i was expecting lmao)
Noibat and Noivern were released before Tornadus

Yeah ngl, the initial mic quality drops I was willing to deal with but this one I have to click off the video for
The audio goes all over the place all video for some reason.
@@havenwhitts6217 Possibly because it's just a compilation of his other videos and they have different microphone qualities
I love all the random facts I learn from your channel. Seriously, there’s so much that I never really noticed and I’m glad to have learned.
fantastic audio work man very easy on the ears, it stood out.
I've considered commenting this before, but don't recall if I did; I'm pretty sure the "shiny" Gogoat was just beta Gogoat.
Definitely was. I don't know why people just go to assume it was a misplaced shiny form. Most certainly was just the colors they were going with when they recorded the scene for the trailer.
@@keirii6003 ive read somewhere that a lot of the shiny forms were beta forms
Thats what I thought too, I was like "Wait those are really underwhelming colors for a shiny."
But then again we have Gholdengo-
Came straight to the comment sections to see if anyone else noticed this.
3:47 before Nintendo gutted out most of the interesting things about Animal Crossing with New Horizons, all the different holidays was one of my new favourite things about that series
“The older pokemon games”

56:51 actually it’s closer to the After Image technique from Dragon Ball, which also came before the Naruto Shadow clone.
The after image raises the ability to dodge as it leaves a realistic type of copy behind do to how quick you are, making it easier to evade an opponent’s attack.
Here is a VERY obscure and bizarre Pokemon fact:
Did you know that the Pokemon move "Follow Me" still remains in effect even if you faint the mon who used it PRIOR to targeting a mon on the field that did not?
Basically in double/triple battles (in gen 3 for sure I know) if the enemy uses Follow Me, you faint them, and target the mon adjacent to them BEFORE they use the move (ie, before anyone attacks), and the enemy sends out a replacement for the Follow Me user that fainted, you will STILL be forced into attacking the sot of the mon that just used Follow Me.
Am the only one blown away by the concept of the reverse shiny hunt ?
nope, would love that idea, and he is the first to come up with it, but I am not entirely sure if that really is how that egg works or if it perhaps works like any other egg or is shiny locked, I don't think I remember any delving into that. Pretty sure that the mew and jirachi however are shiny locked. But I am pretty sure that manaphy in legends Arceus is however locked.
Of course Charizard gets a bridge named after it while Bulbasaur and Squirtle don't.
i consider myself to be a pretty big useless pokémon information buff but damn did this video give me a brain blast lmao
Enjoying the video so far! On the topic of Pokemon GO wallpapers, noibat actually also has the flying type wallpaper since it's primary type is flying.
Phin is gonna have a field day with the new leaks
Bit of an interesting one i found out while trying to Time reset scum to get a Fire stone in Crystal, you cannot swap the Daylight savings time on and off around midnight, because if you did it would change the days aswell. Your Mother will instead say "i Lost the instruction booklet for the Pokégear. Please come back Later".
Ah yess time to engage in 104 very unimportant trivia about the Japanese game Pokémon from the content creator Blueboyphin ☕️☕️
I haven't directly heard about others but I'd imagine a good chunk of 4D movies have been lost to time because they were really only made for those 4D events
Im sure this has been pointed out before but Bombirdier, Noibat and Noivern have the flying type background in go
and what about rookidee? shouldn't it also have that background, given it's a pure flying type?
@@sh4x7kyl0l3 not in the game yet
The drifloon in the cut scene was something I will always remember seeing when I first beat the game!
Noibat and Noivern also have the flying background in Pokémon GO👍🏻
So interesting how that fact that most flying types are part normal is the reason Larry is both a Normal AND Flying type trainer. Even her Tera mon is a Fairy type by default.
as an honestly not super committed fan of pokemon, i get way too hype when i see the "obscure pokemon facts" guy posted‼️
Oh, an hour-long video? Time to grab my popcorn!
wishing you guys the best on your gofundme, if i had the means currently id pitch in, but for now ill give you my well wishes
Have you talked about
Atsuko Nishida and her contribution to designing pokemon? A lot of people credit Sugimori only. Love the vids!
That animation where Pikachu uses Thunderbolt... I did this when I was a kid when the game first came out and had no idea why Pikachu did this. It's been about 26 years, and I finally got an answer!
I hope you guys are doing well after the previous video
I wanted to point out that in the Lorelei plushies section it's not Pidgeotto and Pidgeot plushes on the bookshelf, it's Pidgeot and Fearow! But that bit of trivia, along with a whole bunch of others in this compilation, were super cool and interesting to learn about regardless. Thanks for the enjoyable vid and keep up the good work!
What have I said about claiming "there's only one in existence" when I have one, and so do, likely, several others?
fr
Golem and Poliwrath being sprites you cannot see without battling online is even more funny considering Bruno both uses rock/ground types and fighting types but thought reusing Onixes was the way to go. I'd have loved for him to either use Primeape and Poliwrath or Poliwrath and Golem, personally.
11:34 is just so incorrect many pokemon have that background such as bombirdier, noibat, noivern
The fact I watched the whole video , is crazy,
But I guess just proves how entertaining and satisfying this was to watch
Pikachu's Ocean adventure I actually own a copy but unfortunately I don't have a way to play it. I need a theater projector. My father was the manager at a theater at the time and he got my younger brother it as a collectible but he forgot it and now I own it.
You should really reach out to a pokemon youtube and get it recorded, it's considered extremely rare!
So basically, Lorelei will partake in Retail Therapy in order to cope with losing to us.
1:38:32 The prophecy has been actualized
I was gonna comment on this.. it's a very nice coincidence.. unless?
11:20 Noibat and Noivern also share the Sky background in Pokemon Go because their primary type is Flying (background is based on primary type). I was so hyped when i saw it for the first time :D
"Ah, the Safari zone. The place where you try to catch low-percent pokemon until you give up, or find a shiny one, and it leaves, and you smash your game cartridge."
Uh. I actually found a shiny Exeggcute in Leafgreen's Safari zone. And I caught it........
Funny that despite the Diglett fact, we now DO know what game freak thinks he would look like underneath due to recent events
11:37 that's wrong, noibat and noivern use that background aswell
I was literally about to say that
33:00 "Ho-oh being the classic mystical flying creature."
Moltres: Do I mean nothing to you?
11:38 This fact is not true. Noibat also uses the flying type background because it is a flying/dragon type instead of a dragon/flying type
I assume that was an old video, cuz this seems to be a compilation
Any Pokémon that lists Flying as the first of its types has this background now. This also includes Noibat, Noivern, and Bombidier. It will also apply to Rookidee, Corvisquire, Corviknight, Cramorant, and Flamigo when they are released as obtainable in Pokémon GO.
Ah yes,flamingo
Sapphire was my first main series game. Imagine the game trying to teach you how to catch a Pokémon, but Wally just faints the Ralts instead and then pretends to have caught it and little kid you is just so confused because you doing the exact same thing doesn't actually get you the Pokémon 😆
It's made even worse if you started by watching the anime before playing any of the games LOL
Almost 2 hours of *useless facts*
Thousands of viewers: *Interesting*
You kept my attention and me entertained for nearly 2hours great video
Here is a pokemon fact you might not know about Marin is a pokemon from a drawing contest but they never put it in the games.
I've seen them all before but its so fun to watch it again!! I love pokemon facts so much there's ALWAYS so many more things to find out
Is this just a compilation? Save me rewatching?
Seems like it. Some of these I know I’ve seen before
According to the description, yes
The wallpaper for flying types is based on the Pokémons first listed typing, which is why we didn't have it show up before Tornadus since every other flying type had flying as their secondary typing. Currently, in Pokémon go, we also have Noibat, Noivern, and Bomberdier with the Flying type background like Tornadus :)
About Dewgong's name being better than Seels,
It may have almost been Manaty, now its based of the actual Dugong, which is in the same family as Manatees
I was gonna comment the same.
5:35 i like how you just say some random bs with no proof or any backup to it
The berserk gene is literally there because of Mewtwo.
I think their other Pokémon regret is Jynx.
I still can't get over the fact that Vaporeon LITERALLY turns white in Pokémon colosseum. If only they knew.
I have watched each individual vid and i still watched this mix of them. Your vids are great!!!
This is such a cool channel and community. I love it Phineas!
Hey phin its rutt! Love from Canada as always :)
In pokemon go, the primary type decides the background, so tornadus isn't the only one with flying; noibat, noivern, and bombirdier all have primary flying type.
11:38 Noibat and Noivern both have the flying type background
Two hours of blueboyphin to fall asleep to. Excellent.
I appreciate these videos so much
Edit: the Clefairy song is my favourite hidden fact by far
Hello! I just saw this video! I was a proud owner of a toys r us Arceus actually! Infact, I even transferred it into the HG/SS to do the SInjoh ruins event. I am pretty sure I still have it...though I'd have to do some digging. If I do, I think its still in my copy of Gen 5 or Gen 6 depending. Its wild to hear how rare this was. I figured it was a standard event.
Thanks for all these amazing pokemon facts and videos and good luck on your future endeavours
