- The video linked below of one of my grand mal seizures picks up during the postictal stage of the seizure. It was filmed Dec. 6th 2014 by Casey's dad. She was only about 4 months old. I had asked him to record it if I ever had a seizure and he had his phone handy. I still ask that of everyone I meet because I have never actually seen myself have a seizure. This is the closest I've ever come.

Thank you for sharing! I have seizures when my blood sugar goes too low, but I have learned how to tell when that is going to happen, so I don't have them very often anymore. I have had to have stitches after busting open my chin from falling during a seizure, and I hear ya about being sore after waking up! I pray you continue to have a positive outlook and I want you to know that you are doing amazing! Thank you again for sharing!!

I was 50 when i learned to drive. No medical reason not to fortunately. Hope Benjamin doesn't put it off too long

It was a good day; however, I did spend 3/4 of my shift at work having absence seizures. I just let my managers know what was going on and that I would probably be moving a little slower than usual. The grocery store I work at, HEB, is always very understanding when it comes to my health issues.
Thank you for bringing awareness to this. My son is 21 and was just diagnosed with juvenile myoclonic epilepsy. It was very shocking, but he is doing much better now. God bless you!
That's what I was originally diagnosed with. Now they have me diagnosed with Progressive Juvenile Myoclonic Epilepsy with complex partial seizures. From what I understand, the progressive part just means that my seizures will progressively get worse as I get older. However, my grandmals have actually gotten better, though they still consider me uncontrolled, and they still won't allow me to learn to drive.
I've never shared a video before but this seemed important to share. I've heard of absence seizures before and Grand Mal but not much about them and many people may not have a clue

Hi last time I had a grand mal seizures it was 2014. I am on medication Dilation for years. When my son was young . I taught him what todo when I have a seizure. I had one when was young. He did very well.
Yes, both of my kiddos know what to do, and we keep a list of phone numbers on the fridge in case of emergency. My last grandmal was in 2019, I think. I am on Keppra and Depakote, but I still have breakthrough absence seizures almost every day.
