Barbatos is the reason for batman's "plot armour" in the stories. The writers made batman's plot armour a real plot point, which is genius!

Barbatos creating Batman goes against the whole "With work, perseverance and training you can achive anything" shtick of Batman
Sergio Garcia He said he helped. Bruce still achieved. He didn't just sit on his ass and eat cheetos while cool stuff happened around him.
Sergio Garcia Barbatos just helped like a fall or mortal injury he survived.
Barbatos didnt come into play until final crisis. Then he went and followed bruces lineage from that point on, infecting everything around him. This makes it hard to say barbatos created batman, but more so created the modern more b.s. batman, aka new52/rebirth batman, and assisted him. Im sure the whole point of this story is to bring batman back to his roots, similar to how superman of n52 had to be stripped and erased.

My theory is that Barbatos is a dark multiverse version of Bruce that experienced the whole trapped in time thing and took a different path after getting back to his time, he looked to become a sort of bat god after finding out about the regular multiverse and sought out the power to do so

It's insane how great of a backlog they have when it comes to compelling and seriously well written stories. The films that could be made would be incredible.

Grizzly Gundam It comes from the greek word that is prenounced varvatos(βαρβάτος) which means strong and powerful
I've been ranting to all my friend about this. I say bar-buh-tos, going off the wiki for the demon (in Christian mythology) Barbathos, which was how it was spelled in the 3-issue story in Legends of the Dark knight in 1990. Which is the basis for a lot of Morrison's Batman run, and directly referenced in Batman lost (the underground human sacrifice scene in the late 1700s). Not to mention, Arris' (and many other reviewers/youtubers') pronunciation sounds like the American pronunciation of Barbados, the island nation where Rihanna is from, which is also a mispronunciation.
In short: bar-buh-tos, or bar-bat-os, work for me.
