Not gonna lie, at first, I thought the baby was gonna be Bruce, but then we saw him as a child, so now I think the baby is somehow related to Joe Chill. I feel like Scarlett was also the 17 year old that gave birth
I'm just glad they didn't try to make Thomas Wayne out to be a villain again. I'm sure plenty will try to spin him saving Joe Chill's life to as something bad but an important part of Batman's character has always been him having his father as a beacon of goodness in his life to always guide him forward. Other versions of Thomas Wayne I've seen that warp him into a villainous figure just damages that Batman story overall and I hate it. Keep Thomas Wayne a good father.
I thought it was gonna be the Joker at first, but the fact that he saved the man who would eventually murder him?! Man. That’s a BRILLIANT direction to go with it. I’m so excited for this
It makes sense. The moment you mentioned it was about the batfam and it might be controversal I knew it had to be something about Joe Chill, and once we got the flashback that sealed the deal. It makes sense though. So many people / creators and whatnot just call batman crazy, but have 0 idea what Trauma actually does to people. Can't wait to hear people cry about this one now.
WOW! This video was unbelievable and I really enjoyed it. Tom Taylor's Nightwing run was one of my favorites and I definitely think that this Batman run will be spectacular.
No it's stupid, he adds nothing to the story but traps bruce in a conundrum and make Thomas responsible for his and his wife's deaths. Leave it to Tom Taylor to mess with the Male characters status quo, he did the same to Nightwing, now it's Batman's turn.
This was definitely a retcon that wasn't needed, making Thomas save his future killer? Taylor always does nonsense like this, just for shock value, how much you wanna bet it's gonna be the reason Joe Chill kills them, cause Thomas took away his child. Taylor did the same to Nightwing's origin, revealing that his father had a daughter before him that he didn't know about, essentially giving Dick a older sister out of nowhere that I think is even related to Tony Zucco, the murderer of Dick's parents. He's doing the same here, sins of the father, Taylor is a Hack dude.
@@theoutlawking9123 I see your point but a change of pace and things are warranted in certain cases, sure, some may not like this change but it could still be a sick story. Like how I don't like spider verse movies but they are still great movies all around.
Who could believe that Bruce's father Thomas Wayne is the reason why Bruce Wayne has a no kill rule for Batman? How would he react if he knew that his father saved the life of a man who would later kill him and his wife?
While Taylor is a hack writer, this won't do anything, Bruce still won't change. He didn't do anything when Joker Crippled Barbara, his Goddaughter and killed Jason, HIS SON! So he won't do a damn thing now, he'll forever be a Coward.
Why include a baby, unless that baby grows up to be the unknown criminal? Will this affect Batman's no kill rule? Of course not. Not because of his morals, but because of money. Real money. Parents wont buy Batman merchandise if he becomes a brutal murderer.
Now that’s one hell of an ironic twist there… Thomas Wayne saving the life of the man who would later kill him & his wife, Martha & make his son, Bruce an orphan and ultimately Batman. But also, why do I have the feeling and this is just a potential prediction theory that Batman’s new villain is probably going to be Scarlet because introducing her as a new character along with this new serial killer/ vigilante seems bit too coincidental… especially if you include that quote where Scarlet mentions to Bruce that “some lives are worth more than others” which goes against Batman’s “save everyone no matter what” philosophy and also how this new mystery villain seems to target young criminals?.. just a prediction theory though.
Ok… that reveal definitely shocked me.. I took a moment…took a breath.. and gave it a little thought…. You know what? I think this was fuckin well executed and actually a great new story twist that has a lot of potential for more deep philosophical ideals to break through the story!
I was worried this would be another massive addition and change to the Batman lore, but I'm relieved to find out that it's much more personal and small-scale.
I don't really see how some small additions that deepen Bruce's code or expand on why his parents were so dear to him and his people could be controversial but like you say, let's see
Honestly its not even a good twist, I called it at the beginning of the issue. It would have been a bigger twist to find out Bruce was the baby and then that he had killed his biological father after he killed Bruce's adoptive parents.
The brave and the bold series had him selling to the Gotham villians and batman told Joe chill that he killed his parents and then Joe chill got away from batman to the villians and told them what happened. But not naming Bruce as batman. Lol the joker says: WAIT HOLD UP, SO YOU MEAN TO TELL ME IF IT WASNT FOR YOU, WE WOULDN'T HAVE BATMAN AROUND???? That’s it ! It’s official! We’re getting Injustice Batman! And by injustice I mean he’ll have a warped sense of morality! He could even embrace Jason Todd’s way of dealing with the bad guys 🤷♂️ Will he be like the Grim Knight moving forward???
Bruce truely is the sum of their parts, he has Thomas's morality, drive and stuburness. And he's got Martha's compassion, need to protect and desire to use his money for the betterment of others. The scene with Joe Chill reminds me of the story the soilder who just as WW1 ended could've snuffed one german soilder as he was walking past him on the battle field but decided not too and turns that german dude was the 40s angry mustash monster.
Sangraal, similar to Sangre... which means Blood... looks like Scarlett is a Vamp... Joseph is being used by the Old Money for His Blood?? Thanks for sharing!!! Good so far...
It is a fantastic detail to include in the mythos. Oh and Scarlett is no doubt the new villain and I bet she will go by the name Sangraal witht he way they had it written in bold letters
This could be very interesting if well written. For many reasons, but first seems like Joe Chill has a child somewhere who is still alive. Maybe it is that new mysterious villain. Also, is it possible that Joe killing the Wayne wasn't a coincidence but it was actually because they helped his wife and baby disappear?
Very very possible. Could Joe Chill have actually targeted the Wayne’s because he found out they hid his child from him? That would be a foundational shift for the Wayne’s backstory, but extremely interesting if it does go that direction.
Finally!!! This story gives Joe Chill an actual connection and reason to be the killer of the Waynes!!!! No more Court of Owls and Mob hitman nonsense.

Hey!
Not gonna lie, at first, I thought the baby was gonna be Bruce, but then we saw him as a child, so now I think the baby is somehow related to Joe Chill. I feel like Scarlett was also the 17 year old that gave birth
The first would be a neat twist for an elseworld story and the last one sounds like a cool twist.
Same. I was like no way, they better not.
Scarlett is the baby (and the killer), why do you think her second name is Martha after Martha Wayne's organization is the one who took her in
So do I this is how comics should be give a few nuggets make the audience think something and make a twist to give a surprise.
I thought the baby was going to be the joker for a moment
So Thomas Wayne is the reason why Batman lives by his moral code. And the man that Thomas saved in the hospital was none other than Joe Chill.
Cause and effect. No Joe, no Bat’s.

Agreed. I think a lot of writers just can't accept the fact that some people really are good people, so they have to make Thomas have a dark past
