Umm I love the outside definitely very English countryside but then the interior reminds me of a log cabin in Montana which is nice especially when it snows all you need is the mountains in the distance but the outside doesn’t quite fall in sync with the interior decor or maybe it’s just me but overall it’s a great house!
For the love of all things good, STOP painting old beautiful woodwork, white or any other color. As an owner of a 1934 Tudor Revival Cottage, the unpainted quarter sawn oak, woodword on the doors, trim: mantle, baseboards, crown molding, even the closet selves, are amazing as is. If they were painted, it would be a crime. Restoring them and restraining is always the better option. I don't know if you did it or if it was already done, but it is horrible to see that woodwork covered up like the cheap wood trim of modern houses. Modern trim has no character, no beautiful wood grains, and is very unlikely quarter sawn oak or similar higher end quality wood. That is a huge reason I bought this house, yet so many just paint over them because of the dark stain colors. But you can lighten rooms other ways with light grey paint on walls and ceilings with accent walls a darker color and still enjoy the beauty of the original unpainted wood grain. I hope this practice of painting over instead of restoring ends soon? We otherwise liked the rest of your project.
Long hike from garage to house. Need a golf cart to haul groceries to the kitchen.
