From like 7:30 through 8:00 is all in my town. Cresco, Iowa. Home of the Crestwood Cadets....Small town with a ton of wrestling history. Proud to be a Cadet, proud to be an Iowan, proud to be an American, and damn proud to be a wrestler!

I went to Iowa in the mid 80’s. What was mid blowing then and almost as much today is other NCAA wrestling coaches were saying it was not fair that Gable kept wining. Out of all of the sports, it is my belief that wrestling is the most fair as it’s based 100% on effort/results.

The best gravitate towards the best. A huge chunk of the 80’s and 90’s Hawkeyes wanted to wrestle beyond college and who could help them better than Olympic Gold Medal winner Gable. When John Smith took the reigns at OSU, many joined him. Same goes for Brands and Sanderson. They want to learn Freestyle wrestling from the best in the world. Jay Robinson’s Minnesota was the only team I can think of in my lifetime that won NCAAs without a gold medal Olympic coach, but Jay Robinson’s teams were stacked from 125 to Hwt.

Iowa style is going hard all the time and just being brutal, while OK state style is literally all finesse

I wrestled and boxed in high school and 1 of the things that followed me for life was never let the coach out work or do more than you now I am a builder and have the same mentality but instead of coach it's boss.if you want to get that raise or next position in line whatever it is always do more and be seen doing more.more than the boss more than co-workers always more and don't cheat yourself don't brag but make sure you are seen doing more period.

JamesWilliam Wanke ummmm no not really Iowa is the best bc of their ability to play under pressure in the most tough environments and there known for winning every championship game they’ve been in they have only lost one championship match and that was to Nc state

To be a great Wrestler you have to have a good look, wear a robe or vest to the ring, cool entrance music, good talking skills,it dosent hurt to know how to use dark magic like Undertaker and Kane, thats what makes a great wrestler!! Im just not seeing WWE material in these guys, for one they dont even have a ring, no cool entrance music or pyro, they should be practicing moves like the moonsault or toombstone piledriver, iron claw and fugure four, dont they want to go pro someday?

I think Gable leaving was the biggest factor. Replacing someone like that and expecting the same performance level is unrealistic. The best wrestlers in the country, the ones who want to win Olympic Gold and not just NCAA crowns, gravitate to coaches that are Olympic legends. John Smith, Tom Brands, and Cael Sanderson are names people are drawn to since they know how to win on the world level. And once the wrestling room is full of studs for training partners, it gets going for real. That’s why Cael’s PSU is so dominant today. You’re gonna leave contending for freestyle titles when you leave.

Amatuer came 1st but it amounted to nothing more than spectator gay porn, WWE is the big leagues and these kids will never get there unless they learn how to take a steel chair shot, or learn how to escape a steel cage,or learn to shoot fire from the ring post!!!

Do seriously think one of the dorks could defeat or out wrestle the Great Hulk Hogan? Hogan would drop these guys with a boot and leg drop, plus he has the power of Hulkamania on his side, these guys are ametures, how are they ever gonna make it to the big leagues the WWE if the dont learn how to wrestle in a steel cage match, or maybe practice swinging a steel chair? Or maybe a counter to the figure four leg lock, or learn how to do a pile driver or flying head butt
