man this doc is a few years old and its still hella pumps me up, these dudes r badass. probabaly all doing really great things in this world by now. one of the best programs hands down in college wrestling.
I liked what Cole Konrad had to say. It was so nice to get all my aggression and frustration out on the mat. That was about the only time I was really personally allowed to just tear people apart and let it all out, because the rest of the time I'm pretty damn kind and worry a lot about the well fare of others, but when I would get in that room I knew that anything other than apathy got you nowhere in a match, so I just got to kinda let it all go and feel no remorse, especially since no one else felt bad either.
I wrestled Bobbe Lowe in High school. That guy was a beast. He just dominated me and left me wishing I had never walked out there. He is an amazing wrestler on his feet.
If you think about it, the wrestlers most likely train the hardest in the UFC because of their mental toughness they bring from wrestling back in high school/college. Theyve literally got a huge advantage just from a training and mental aspect.
@Pein0666 There's an old Iowa practice documentary which showed a whole lot more work than in this video. The part I remember most was a brutal session of stairs, followed by trash cans full of vomit. I'm not sure where to find that program at this point.
Work ethic and determination are some of the skills one might gain during wrestling. For me those are the skills I gained. Being a coach would mean that you would need to know first aide and probably being a P.E teacher would help.
honestly i love wrestling so much and i miss it everytime i watch videos like this . im still in highschool i just finished my 2nd year. ima junioe so i can still go one more year. but i think about it and my grades ALWAYS drop, i dont see where wrestling will help me in the future. (excpet mentally) and my real passions are graffiti art and skateboarding. but to anyone that starts wrestlign only wrestle if ur gonna give your 100% in it . cuz thats the only way your gonna get good.
yeah weight cutting is definitely a huge thing in wrestling. in one night of an hour practice i lost 6 pounds but it didnt feel that way at all. when it comes to wrestling and weight, its all mental strength and discipline
lol matt koz is my coach now.. the mans a damn lunatic. possibly the biggest hard ass ive ever met. he beats the hell out of us, but it makes our team who we are.
Yeah, i think its just a common thing between fellow wrestlers to root for wrestlers in the UFC. Because we know they are tougher physically and more importantly mentally. We KNOW its cuz we experienced it ourselves. And of all the martial arts i definitely think its physically and mentally the toughest.
@OverTimeMods Well I usually drink alot of water during the day and at practice lose 3 pounds. so if I don't drink water all day and then practice I will lose more weight?
minnesota's wrestlers work harder than the wrestlers from iowa. i went to iowa and all they did was practice a couple of moves on each other and go live for 30 minutes and went home.
High culture, a continuation Greek Civilization, now all undone because some J’s decided Anglo-Germanic needed to go, ironically because of this doc. May God have mercy on the elderly in Minnesota, they have no idea what’s coming.
Damn i wish i went to school in america where they appreciate sport, not like in the uk where they try to discourage you, you guys don't know how lucky you are with such facilities.
@dsettleascii rule one..wrestlers don't complain. When you grapple em up for time you'll know what need to be done and you either do it or don't . Walk on the mat with no friends...and leave with no enemies.
im going into hs and in the 140 weight division im 5'10" so im tall for the weight but very strong and im scared i wont start cause i come from a school where wrestling is small and the other school wrestling is huge and the other kid in my weight class goes to all kinds of camps i cant afford and has been wrestling longer and all i can do is lift weights and hope to gain enough weight to get out of his way :(
running is such a disgusting way to lose weight. i remember running for 15 mins and losing .5lbs and it was pretty much stright muscle.if you dont have any carbs in your body and no fat. your body cant distinguish the diffrent between consumed protein and muscle. the best way youll ever loose weight is maby an underarmor and a tee shirt and maybe a sweatshirt and some live wrestling.
maybe, but does any of those skills are the ones that make a diff? for example, career advancement? nothing against wrestlers, but i could never quite understand why most of them always seem to aim for becoming wrestling coach? never banking, medicine, law? esp when i see all those wrestlers who get to attend prestigious colleges like Connell ended up as wrestling coach, i mean nothing wrong with that , but still, they could aim higher
Jean Van Arpel maybe that’s their passion AND what they love. Not following societal norms, it’s like you saying, “ I want to be a dentist” so why not a neurologist, or surgeon. Believe me I was a wrestler all my life, if the shit hit the fan and I had a banker, lawyer, or a guy who wrestled all his life I’d pick the wrestler becAuse they always have a no quit no matter what attitude!
@RepublicanNatio fucking isnt that the truth brotha. NOBODY understands, except wrestlers. If you can wrestle, everything else in the world seems easier to accomplish.
@monkeyboy8me be cool!!!. i dont know yu or him.. big man!!!.... an maybe somthing happend.. jus go on!!! itll bother him 2!!!. im just an old guy, well gettin old.. a boxer from the past, had me 200 amatuer bouts, won 140.... iid take it all back to go back to 9th grade an just wrestle!!.. .. erase ur comment, not that i can tell you what to do, but i doubt, he hurt ur kids or grandm
U go watch real wrestling, I would like to see one of these losers try to beat John Cena, yeah right that will never happen, Cena has to be considered the greatest wrestler in the world he has been a WWE champion countless times and a world heavy weight champion as well, what world titles has these guys won? Maybe they should study some footage of Hulk Hogan or Ric Flair maybe they could learn something
Man I thought this was real wrestling, this is just some sort of gay porn, where's the steel chairs and steel cages? WWE is just about some of the greatest wrestling i ever seen
thank you for the upload. No one understands how much pain a wrestler suffers. Even a documentary can't do it justice. Hardest sport in the world!
This docu hypes me up since 6 years :D
Show me a successful wrestler in high school and above and I will show you a successful person in life..........
@@toddfeehley4810 debatable

The head coach of this team said the skills you gain during wrestling don't go away, he is absolutely right.
Absolutely iconic, been watching this video since I was a kid
''but no one trains like wrestlers'' absolute truth. I miss wrestling back in high school!
My judo and jiu-jitsu teacher said hands down wrestling has the toughest training of any sport. He called us crazy lol.
This is awesome!

Graduated college and I am still coming back

Great stuff.

How are you doin now?
yeah weight cutting is definitely a huge thing in wrestling. in one night of an hour practice i lost 6 pounds but it didnt feel that way at all. when it comes to wrestling and weight, its all mental strength and discipline
Most UFC fighters are D1 All American wrestlers. That's the real scary part of it. Not only are they D1 but the best D1 Wrestlers.
lol matt koz is my coach now.. the mans a damn lunatic. possibly the biggest hard ass ive ever met. he beats the hell out of us, but it makes our team who we are.

I’m trying to lookup Bobbe Lowe Hilights but I can’t find any

COLE KONRAD! 2:47!! Cool man, didn't expect that at all.
@OverTimeMods Well I usually drink alot of water during the day and at practice lose 3 pounds. so if I don't drink water all day and then practice I will lose more weight?
cool video
@100tonlifter Thank you sir!
I am sure you have heard Cole Konrad got into MMA and was on his way up the rankings but then retired out of nowhere
minnesota's wrestlers work harder than the wrestlers from iowa. i went to iowa and all they did was practice a couple of moves on each other and go live for 30 minutes and went home.
why no co-ed wrestling???
how many times a week do they lift weights?
cole konrad is now in mixed martial arts fighting in bellator
NO dislikes... hell yeah!

and most of the top UFC fighters are former college wrestlers
Does anyone have a link to the full documentary?
High culture, a continuation Greek Civilization, now all undone because some J’s decided Anglo-Germanic needed to go, ironically because of this doc.
May God have mercy on the elderly in Minnesota, they have no idea what’s coming.
how much weight do these dudes lose in a day? like 6lbs?
Wreslters = Hardest workers of any sport.
@OverTimeMods Yeah I wrestle and I am drained after almost every practice I couldn't imagine swimming practice!
Damn i wish i went to school in america where they appreciate sport, not like in the uk where they try to discourage you, you guys don't know how lucky you are with such facilities.
besides winning a match.
breaking your opponent is the best feeling in the world.
anderson is next on the list to be double legged
@dsettleascii rule one..wrestlers don't complain. When you grapple em up for time you'll know what need to be done and you either do it or don't . Walk on the mat with no friends...and leave with no enemies.

@Zeus101mon Nope those mats are clean like 4 to 6 times a day and if someone has ring worm there not aloud to wrestle till gone
