Was not expecting Everything In Its Right Place. Amazing.
Every note in it's right place. Homie crushed that one. Personal favorite. Fell in love with that album in the halls of ucla hospital while my dad was having crazy experimental lung surgery. Kid A got me through that dark time.
This video has everything in its right place.
Even blindfolded I think most people would be able to tell that there's something special about the way this guitar sounds vs various other more recent telecasters. How?? why?? is it magic??
I agree and it's one of life's unanswered questions
An absolutely beautiful guitar and that is the first time I've heard anyone make the dark circuit sound good.
That is a desert island guitar, it covers all genres of music. Wonderful guitar and great rockin video. Thanks y’all. 👍😎✌️
I hope Michael uses these amazing pieces he comes up with in his band. He’s incredibly talented.
Incredible guitar and demo--the Radiohead on the dark circuit was particularly mind-blowing. Last year I bought a Butterscotch Blonde Squier CV 50s Esquire and I absolutely love it. Like Lemmo said, it's way more versatile than one would imagine and the bridge pickup tone is to die for. At around $450, It's a great option for those of us who can't quite swing the purchase of the 1963 version.
My number one suggestion as a first electric guitar is a Squier CV Telecaster. They can do just about everything and are a fantastic value for the price. It's amazing how far east guitars used to be utter shit, and now they rival the MiM stuff for far less money.
Omg that Radiohead tune sounded so sublime with that dark circuit. Brilliant
Lemmos looper skills are unbeatable!
Michael Lemmo is the greatest inspiration on the whole web . Thanks man !
Lemo needs that guitar!!
It’s just the Right pairing , 63 Esquire in the hands of Mike !
Priceless!!
I would love that guitar! So awesome! I feel like Lemmo plays with more emotion knowing these are Norm's special treasures. Thanks for sharing. I used to miss Agnisi. Not anymore.
One of my favourite Petty tunes. Nice playing man, woah
tele tuesdays are the best. cant believe lemmo doesnt use one regularly, he shreds on those!
Tom petty and the Heartbreakers "Breakdown" great to jam along to and as a warm up, Esquire is 1st and best Fender, you put it through its paces, well demonstrsted!
I love Lemmo’s playing but what I really really love is that he wore a Grinch T-shirt in June. Bravo young man 👏👏👏
Jen you have met so many iconic stars, your contribution to rock history is unmatched. So much of what Lemmo does everyday borders on jazz. I for one love it, he has an incredible mind for music. Lemmo's digs will go down in history someday, thanks Jen for preserving it all. GOTD rules!
I bought a 1963 Esquire and a 1960 within a few months in the early 90s, none of my friends were even interested. Still gig with them today.
I can't believe the variety of amazing tones from that single pickup. Stunning!
Petty’s Esquire I believe was a 1966, glad I now know where it came from. Still miss him every day, I grew my hair out once he passed and it’s once again nearing that length. Just an amazing human being.
what a amazing sounding piece of history! Killer playin Mike!
What a fabulous GOTD °!!!!? The Esquire was awesome. Michael you absolutely killed it. Thanks Jen for filming this Esquire at its best. I am blown away !!
Outstanding!! I'm one of those nut-jobs who is obsessed with single pickup guitars. This vid just further goes to show that for about 99% of applications, ONE PICKUP IS ALL YOU NEED!
Recently, I converted my old standard MIM Tele to an even simpler version of an Esquire.
Removed the sorry-ass neck pickup, and upgraded to a Fender '62 American Vintage Bridge pickup....same as in this video!
Forward switch position is the "dark" circuit, middle is standard wiring to volume and tone pots, and rear position it wired to.....nothing! Use that as a killswitch, which comes in handy! Plus I have the luxury of a six saddle bridge instead of that blasted outdated 3 barrel job.
Happy playing, everybody!!
I rarely use bridge pickups, which is why I love bridge pickup only guitars, the signal from the tighter string vibration is so different. I like that Norm is jamming more on video, seems to be improving as a result, and good medicine for his soul............!
I would pay for a tab of that take of Everything in it’s Right Place. Better than any I’ve seen.
Now that's the telly sound, great vid guys, these old axes from norms show up the differences to modern axes, no contest.
Absolutely fantastic playing Lemmo !!! Good thing it has a thin neck so I don't want it so badly ! Thank you Jen !
Lemmo you are such a wizard!
Don’t worry he says! Lol!! So cool! Lol! Awesome set Michael! Awesome video Jen!
Awesome song that Lemmo is playing at the beginning. I think it's Radiohead "Everything in it's right place".
Esquier, or the most underrated Guitar ever made! I love them!!! 😎 And, of course brilliantly played and presented! 👍
Syd Barrett guitar. Selmer Treble and Bass amp
⚓️ Thanks Jen Mike 😎
Cool guitar. Great Performance
That intro loop could so easily have been from The Good, The Bad & The Ugly but nope....Radiohead! nice!!
What a fantastic video I actually like the fender esquire have a wonderful day Michael and jen
Great playing from Michael, as usual! I love Esquires-never owned one, but the first Fender I got to play was an early ‘50s blackguard Esquire, in late ‘64 or early ‘65. I could have gotten it for $75 (!) but at 14 years old there was no way I could lay my hands on that kind of dough!
If you are good, a single pickup is all it takes. What a magic wand of a guitar.
Wowza!! 👍👍
Rosewood board ‘60’s Esquire. Second Fender I ever played. I’m dying here.
That’s the ultimate guitar to me. Doesn’t get better.
Nice demo, congrats!
I do love a tele Tuesday🎉
Everything in its right place hell yes
I love when you get the Led Out of a guitar!
Love that radiohead song with this guitar. sounds gorgeous!
Esquire are pretty cool. For only having one pickup it has some versatility.
That guitar is Legit!!
That was cookin ❤
Sick!!
Norm should jam as much and often as he wants. Videos appreciated.
Good one Michael
Excelente 👍🤝🎸🎻
You can tell it’s a good one. 15 minutes!
coolest video ever
I’m actually working on something like that new Squire with the one humbucker, but in the more traditional control plate and an Ebony board on a roasted neck.3-way will be full humbucker in series, single split, and humbucker in parallel.
hell yea
Telecaster my favorite
Amazing sound from that guitar and playing.
I have the exact same guitar and case in mint condition along with the original fender amp
👍🎶I reckon you liked that raw rock vibe...sounded cool as 👉😁
Cool Lemmo
What is thatpiece of music that starts at 6:12? Love the versatility from one pickup.
Led Lemmo !
🔥
👍
Honestly this should be credited to the great Mike Campbell!
Cam Bo 🤙
Damn Mike smokin' on this one!
😍😍😍😍
Another great video by Michael and Jen. I love Esquires and I love that Michael does spend time on the forward position of the tone switch. On most YT videos I've seen featuring an Esquire the player only sends about maybe 10 seconds (at most) on the "dark" mode and then dismisses it as useless. The other two positions are of course the reason why players go with an Esquire, but Michale shows what a real player can do with that forward position. Great stuff. Thank you.
Looking for one of these with serial ending in 5446 👍
Tom Petty was a legit legend!
Anybody ever see that black Esquire Charlie Starr of Blackberry Smoke has? It's black with a rosewood board and it is GLORIOUS! He uses it on Hey Delilah. Can anybody tell me if they ever actually produced black ones or is it a refin? It is by far the coolest one I've ever seen and I'd kill to get my hands on that thing just for a few seconds!
i seen a interview where he said its a refin, it was like that when he got it
can i work there too
WHERES JACK RYAN SULLIVAN?
Always great but today was special.
Nobody does the Dark circuit like Lemmo. 🤙
Was Jen the only one who suffered hearing damage after those Led Zep tunes?
Esquire through the Super Reverb. Throw some flat wounds on that thing and you got Luther Perkins favorite set up.
Yup!
what is the second song?
The hit "Breakdown" by Tom Petty
Great mood. What looper do you use?
Hi jen. 👍🏼
EVERYTHIIIIIIIIIIIING
sweet guitar...oh and my shirt size is large
Anytime in the future we can see Jen presenting a Guitar Of The Day video...? :)
Norm clean out inventory
Tax man coming
Radiohead?
What's the most Esquire-y song you can play?
I know, Radiohead!
😢
👍✌❤😎
Michael actually made good music from the dark circuit. Not many folks can do anything meaningful with that!
Jimmy Page called and he wants his guitar back!
Yesterday I woke up sucking a lemon🕺🏾
Break down, Go ahead and give it to me. Break down it's alright It's Alrrright.
Strange ..
Shame we didnt get a Syd Barrett shoutout....
How about Gibson Gwednesday? 🤷♂️ 😂
Everything In Its Right Place. Not the intro.
Bad place for the thumbs down next to comment
Skrait gas
Hey so umm. I'm gonna comment this on each one of these videos that do it.
Stop putting "rare guitar" in all caps at the end of the video title.
Its boomer shit and cringe. You're Norman's Rare Guitars. It's implied. You don't need to go all 2011 click bait with your titles. They were fine as they were.
With all due respect...
You guys knew need to do better close-ups of the guitars with the serial numbers, you never show the serial numbers I don't know why,is it a big secret is it that hard to show?
