The frets near the nut, looked like somebody had hit them with a hammer and chisel. Took it to a luthier, who put it back together. It still needs a paint job, but it plays great and sounds fantastic. Love my Telecaster :)

I love that blue guitar! When I’m stuck in a rut, you are always a true inspiration to pick up my guitar and learn new stuff! Been watching you for years! Your smooth playing and tone are always great!
I don't have 'A' Dream guitar. I want a PRS that I've fallen in love with, hasn't happened yet. I pick them up they are beautiful, exquisitely crafted and setup but always there is something that doesn't click. I want a Les Paul that I'm in love with, as with the PRS I just don't click with any I've tried or owned. I want my old 73 Les Paul back, but for sentimental reasons, I really didn't play it. I want a Tom Anderson, I fell in love with one and didn't get it... /sigh but it's gotta do the same thing. I want a Music Man Silhouette, another one that got away and no other one has hit me the same. I have a custom design in my head, that would require a machinist, in addition to the rest of the skills. Maybe one day /shrug. I could keep going, but reading someone else's dreams might be boring you so I'll leave it there. :)
I can relate. I’ve clicked with 1 prs. But I couldn’t afford it at the time. And I’ve had a couple Gibson’s, but they end up sitting. If it doesn’t demand to be played it doesn’t stay
Totally agree. Had a PRS. Didn’t bond with it so sold it. On the day I let it go, we plugged it into my newest amp and it sounded amazing. I’d been thinking about the tone ever since. 5 months later, found a nice McCarty 594 that has put my LP Burst reissue out of job. No, it doesn’t looks as cool as the Lester, and I will still gig the LP or lightly relic’d teles and strats. But the PRS does play itself and sounds stunning for recording. Even the coil taps sound fantastic. Also the best put together guitar I’ve ever owned. So they can grow on you.
Dream guitars: Aristides 060 hardtail. Fender custom shop tele and strat. Esp USA M-II hardtail. Friedman cali heavy relic w/ floyd. Robert, I have been following you for at least 5 years and am blown away at how far you've come! You're a big inspiration and I'm so happy for you that you've acquired such a nice piece of guitar history. I have your lessons, follow you on instagram, and can't wait for your videos to pop up. Keep it up, we appreciate what you do.
Dream guitar. Strat shape. Neck through, hard tail, dual humbuckers, 2 octave neck, wired like a Gibson with 2 tones, 2 volumes, wide low frets, mahogany body and neck with ebony fret board, all from trees that were struck by lightning. I haven't thought about it much. I need a workshop. And a sawmill. But first, a winning lottery ticket. And yeah man, that old Fender sounds great. The wood improves with age. Lightning really speeds that up.
I’m going to one up the guy with the Ibanez Dream JEM - my dream guitar is a 1987 JEM in Lochness Green. The one Vai is holding on the 1987 Ibanez guitar catalog.
By far my fav YT channel. I LOVE Esquires ( and telecasters )! The look is "simplistic" but darn right gorgeous, especially the headstock! And I love the sound. Jeff Beck of the Yardbirds played an Esquire ( until 66 when he used a Les Paul ) and showed what could be achieved with just a single pup. Only my opinion, but Jeff was the most innovated guitarist of his time until Hendrix came and raised the bar! I mostly play Yardbirds stuff, so getting an Esquire was a priority naturally. I can't afford a real vintage Esquire like you lovely beast, so I thought about going custom shop. But for the most part the relics look to me overly done, especially the back of the necks. So, after watching your 70th Anniversary Fender Esquire vid and the comparison vid with your 58, I decided to get a 70th Esquire, and I did! Only almost 2 years old, but half the cost of a Custom Shop, plus, it already had a white guard added to it, which like yourself, I prefer! Thanks again for the great review and awesome playing, I thoroughly enjoyed them. Cheers
My dream guitar would be a 58 Strat. Robert, no one could say you are anything other than a man with a good heart and want to do the best for us. Take care and stay safe and well safe and well 🤘🏻🎸👍🤘🏻🎸👍🤘🏻🤘🏻🎸🎸
Congrats Robert. That guitar is unbelievable and you are a great player!....I get...i used to have a great 57' Esquire that I bought from Rumble Seat Music in Ithaca, NY about 20 years ago....
What a dreamy find!! Rumble Seat is killer!! I love Elliot and my man, Keith! We used to work together at Gruhn’s!! Hope you get many years of play and enjoyment from this gem!!
Congratulations on the guitar! Man, I cannot believe anyone gave you trouble about giving your strat to Jim. That was a very cool thing to do. The blue guitar should be named “Stan”.
I just bought my first American made PRS. My dream was to have an American made guitar. I've been playing for 12 years now, and am 26. I adjusted the action immediately and put heavier gauge strings on it. They set in with the action PERFECTLY. That didnt mess up the intonation at all, it's such a nice guitar.
My dream guitar is similar to the one you are giving away. I have always wanted an 80's style hot rodded super strat with the HSS setup and a tremolo. I don't have anything with a decent whammy bar. American made is the best period. And unlike most people i really dig the maple fretboard..so cool and the color is perfect as I started learning guitar when my wife got stage 4 colon cancer, and it looks very close to colon cancer blue...slobber slobber..drool drool
Dream guitar: 59 Strat. Maple neck. Also: early 50's esquire. Maple neck. Not blowing sunshine here. They just have a certain bite to the sound. Same with the LP DC Jr with a single p90. It just has so many tones in such a simple setup. I agree with what you said about single pickup guitars just having something more or different than when there's a neck pickup in the loop.
I just bought my dream guitar after 43 years of wanting one, a Gibson Les Paul. I wanted a standard and I wanted brand new but with all the quality control issues they were having a few years back I held off. I was told that the quality had came back quite a bit so I took a chance a bought the Les Paul Traditional in Blueberry Burst and could not be happier. The finish is great, the fret job was great, and the sound is awesome, so aside from some very minor tweaks to my own taste I am over the moon. I do own a heavily modded Lotus Les Paul copy, an ESP shredder with a Floyd Rose, and a Partscaster that I built and finished I call The Ratstrat super hot pick-ups coil split with a maple Tele neck. All very different but all a pleasure to play, they are all kinda like tools in my toolbox, some times you need a small wrench, other times you need a big old hammer. Love your videos, you rock and I surely would love to add that blue beauty to my arsenal, so, oh oh oh pick me pick me!!! LOL!!! Keep doin what you do, and keep the vids comin, ROCK ON BROTHER!!!
Congratulations Robert. That guitar sounds uber sweet under your fingers. I've been dreaming of a '78 tele since playing one about 25 years ago. Also a '71 Les Paul custom, a Gretsch White Falcon, a... I have a lot of dreams. Stay safe and keep on rockin' 🤘
Hi Robert. Love your videos. Love the fact that you present yourself as a very humble guy yet can kick ass on the guitar. I'm a subscriber and course purchaser. I am 60 years old and have always had guitars but have always been at the stage of "I play AT the guitar" instead of just saying I play guitar. I retired 3 years ago and am now taking the time to actually learn how to play the thing. I have mostly had acoustic guitars but am getting a small collection of electrics. It seems that I prefer the thin necked guitars and love my new Schecter PT hybrid with their ultra thin C neck, so I'm sure I would love your Blue giveaway guitar. I also need to add an S style guitar to my collection and also love the blue woodgrain look of your giveaway. Thank you for your videos and lessons!!

Robert,
I have been following you for at least 5 years and am blown away at how far you've come!
Dream guitar would be a Telecaster. Any and all, there’s just something about the tone.
Check out Hansen T-style. :)
Yeah... you’re DEFINITELY done buying guitars😉
Robert Baker in 6 months: "I'm finally done for sure---- Oh wait!" in all seriousness I don't blame you. It's hard to stop.
Wow!
Love that guitar. Didn't know how that 3 way worked with one pickup!
So much more harmonics than the start! Very cool
Hate that spellcheck
That tone! What a beautiful guitar and and great demo of what it can do. Never knew I needed an esquire in my life until now
I’m going to one up the guy with the Ibanez Dream JEM - my dream guitar is a 1987 JEM in Lochness Green. The one Vai is holding on the 1987 Ibanez guitar catalog.
That thing is the closest to Jimmy's sound I've ever heard.
Q: How many guitars is enough? A: One more.
My man🤘 that's my dream guitfiddle! She's gorgeous😍 congrats brother you deserve it, your a joy to watch and listen to! Keep on keepin on
What a dreamy find!!
Sounds and looks INCREDIBLE!!!
My dream guitar is probably this beautiful new Esquire of yours! Thanks for the great video!
Congratulations buddy this is a real piece of art and magnificent specimen enjoyed
Not boring at all. What a wonderful guitar. Best sounding tele I've heard, but it takes a real player like you to do it justice.
Beautiful guitar Robert, sounds awesome. It’s great how humble you are about your success. My dream guitar is a Gibson ES-175, I’m a big Steve Howe fan and love the look and sound of them.
Dude! You just showed me the solo in "whole lotta love"!! Thanks man!! Also, I love Esquire guitars! I had one. I had to sell it cuz my family was broke. I had a white one.
My dream guitar is a silver burst Gibson custom. Its something I've listed after for years. I thanks Robert. 😊
That Esquire sounds awesome!!! Congratulations
Dream guitar: prs tremonti signature.
Aside from that, your vids have made this lockdown incredibly productive.. I hadn't picked up my guitar in about 10 years, saw a couple of your videos and now playing about 6 hours a day.. dunno why I ever put it down.
getting some nice vintage fenders....awesome love both the tele and the strat.
That is a fine guitar and sounds fantastic. Congratulations on you owning it.
My dream guitar was Gibson LP because of Late Gary Moore and SLASH, also Joe Satriani who drags me to guitar world, so this two kind of guitar will be a dream come true.
Man...I've been subs to your channel for long time, I love watchin ur prev Strat n LP custom story, hope u will bring this Esquire story up too.
It's nice to hear the story of people lovin their axe 🤘
And congrats to the winner of Robert Baker's personal collection guitar, hope they will play it with love until all it's fret worn out
Thank's for the nice content as always bro
Hope I'll have the great luck to win one
Congrats for the new Squier acquisition, it sounds thick!!!! My dream guitar it is a Gibson Les Paul Standard 60s Iced Tea, but another favorite is the Sterling by Music Man. and for the name of the Squier...Fender Robert "Number One" Squire
Hey man you don't have to give stuff away to show your appreciation. The fact that you're putting so much time into your videos shows how much you care.
Though I'd still like to enter, of course. My dream guitar would probably be a Les Paul or a 335
Love the tone!!! Incredible!!!
