That dual picking on Just what I needed was pretty fricking sick
I had to go back and watch again. Sick indeed.
A dark circuit is pretty brilliant since an Esquire only has a bridge pickup
Fender’s idea was that the guitar player could also play “bass” to the point that he changed the value of the tone cap from .05uf (equal to a zeroed tone knob) to .1uf (more like something on a P-Bass tone knob) to make it even darker at some point.
@@joermnyc and then they made the bassman (my favorite amp) to make it have even more bassy
Eldred mod
Yeah...I'd keep the dark circuit
I find myself liking the dark circuit as played here by Michael, with some jazzy chords.
Seeing this dude grow into and totally excel at this gig has been really fun to watch, Cheers, Mr. Lemmo, you're killing it!!
I was listening to the first cars album yesterday. That was a great cover by the way.
the best example of playing a dark circuit I"ve heard.
Damn, that was some great Cars..........Rick will be sorely missed, Michael what a great performance....my fingers would have been in a knot after all that action!
Wow! I really love the clean sound of this guitar
Geez man the talent in your playing !!
You're becoming my fav handler of these antiques Mike, always doing them the justice they require. Please keep rocking Sir
I really love this 1956 Esquire!!!
Very well done ML, and Jen. Bravo.
Excellent tributes to a great band , you nailed it Lemmo 👍 cheers mate🏴
Lemmo nails "just what I needed" ....... Superb effort
The dark circuit is beautiful. Support or solo i would be there most of the time. Sliding Dim and Dim7 runs inversions, Maj7s would just roll so pretty out. Love to hear it through my old twin
George Chapogas I thought I was the only one who loves that sound
Magical playing as always by Lemmo, and that tribute was just what I needed. RIP Ric Ocasek, I will always dig your music.
Just What I needed was a GREAT arrangement. Well done!
I swear Michael is one of the luckiest men on earth for being able to handle and play these guitars.
Ryan Trinh i thought the same thing when he and Todd did the Rickenbacker 4005 bass
not only rare, but very expensive
Lucky and we'll suited. He always does the guitar right by style and song selection.
@@ChristofferNelsonG ...people like you just dont have the same kind of passion and understanding of these vintage guitars...go look on Amazon or something like that, you probably dont really belong here✌
"Lucky: and "Brilliant"
Lucky but deserving
The Esquire sounds great. Nice tribute to Ric. Please do a tribute to Eddie
Excellent covers! You continue to impress.
Awesome tribute, awesome job with the Cars!
Beautiful sounding Esquire and beautiful playing!
That was awesome Mike and Jen, loved me some Cars.
This is flat out the most beautiful vintage guitar I’ve ever seen.
Hey Lemmo, I really dug your interpretation of the Cars tunes. Bye Bye Love is one of my favorites. I love how you accentuated all the key components in Just What I Needed. Killer!
The intro to "The Train Kept A-Rollin' (Yardbirds) was on an Esquire in the dark circuit position...
Love this! Lemmo sounds like 10 guitarists at once! Good playing bud!
MIchael, That Just What I Needed was just what I needed. Well done.
It takes me back to high school time 1978 & 79.
Plumiegirl I graduated in ‘80. I absolutely love late 60s into mid 80s music.
🎶🎸♥️🎸🎶
Beautiful mellow tone on the Dark Circuit, stunning guitar in all aspects! Looking forward to listening to the podcasts tonight, see what you guys have been up to, peel back some layers, see what makes you guys tick!
I believe after the Broadcaster... err. Telecaster came out they just used those bodies for Esquires, so if you take off the pickguard it’s an easy conversion. Bruce Springsteen has one that was converted, but he disconnected the neck pickup.
They just need to keep Lemmo permanently on demos now. Guy's a legend on guitar!
Great demo as usual and nice tribute. Seeing ur GOTD is a great prelude to seeing Joe Bonamassa in Brisbane Australia tonight! Redemption!
Beautiful guitar and great job Michael. Well done man! 👍🏻
That was badass Lemmo! Thank You!
The dark circuit on an Esquire sounds better than the dark circuit on a Telecaster. Got to be that bridge pickup.
Love Esquires ! Great job Lemmo ,the Cars/Ric Ocasek tribute was a nice touch . Thanks Jen !
Great job Lemmo! Enjoyed that one 👍👏
Excellent tribute!!!
Great tribute to one of the greats
1956?!! Dayumn, that's clean.
Lemmo thanks for taking us back with the Cars
Mister fingers....... nice touch brother! Enjoyed!
Awesome guitar and playing ML.
Fantastic job Lemmo!
Nothing Lemmo can’t play, and a nice tribute to Ric.. I had the original circuit in my Nocaster, soon got rid of it but I suspect Michael could have made it sing!
Beautiful cover and tribute to Ric!
Great tribute to Ric...(and Ben Orr who sang lead on both of those tunes!!) RIP
What a tribute to the life and art of Rick and The Cars beautiful gutair my definition of an ax
Guys, Video tape the Podcast and put it on UA-cam. We'll watch it. I promise.
Steller playing, that was an awesome cover of the cars!
Indistinguishable sound of fender esquire, even the dark circuit has glow and character. Reminiscent of days gone by when you could actually go out on a Saturday night, see and hear live rock n roll, dance all night. Last call, no problem, who's hosting an after hours romp? Those were the days.
I knew that the dark circuit was beautiful! It's just that people don't know how to use it!
A great player, as always!
Nice tribute Lemmo, nice guitar. RIP Ric 🎸🎶
Been really enjoying your playing.
Great Demo Lemmo.
Just what I needed.....
Sounds really great!
That would have been a wonderful Tribute to Ben, ( since he wrote and sang the two songs you did )
But nonetheless a Nice Tip of the Hat to Rick. As always Lemmo you were Awesome......R.I.P. RICK,
You and your Band were ONE OF A KIND! 🎸💚
I am a sucker for esquires that thing looks absolutely gorgeous
I may only be 19, but the Cars are one of my favorite bands. I dig both Ric and Ben on lead vocals, Elliot Easton’s sick licks, Greg Hawkes keyboard parts (which I believe are some of the most recognizable synth parts in music history) I even think David Robinson deserves a lot of credit for drumming for this fantastic band. Even though I didn’t get to live during their heyday in the ‘80s, I was very saddened by the loss of Ric. His music will continue to influence many other young musicians that are even younger than myself. It really was a better time for music than 2019. I’m definitely not a fan of what my generation thinks should be considered music. I absolutely loved the tribute today Lemmo, even though you played two Ben Orr songs. 😂 It’s ok Ric wrote both those songs anyways.
50's Fenders eh! My they sound amazing
U should have mentioned it’s a White guard and how they came after the black guard and gave some more info buddy. And the dark circuit was a jazz/ bass circuit. I think most of know that but u sound cute when u explain the the guitars
If there's an Esquire then there's a nocaster demo right?
Nice one, you did Ric proud there.
I want to see what Jen looks like. The closest I have come is the reflection in a ash tray pick up cover. Nice playing Michael.
You need to be playing on a big world wide stage, I am surprised some super famous band hasn’t already offered you a million dollar contract.
That was awesome!!
Is the podcast on Spotify?
Cralo yes it is
Bob Morris thank you
Nice job Lemming........
Phenomenal
Michael’s rhythm slaps
Someone please help a guy out what the hell is lemmo playing on 6:12 & 6:13 ? It’s boggling my mind trying to work it out I’ve watched it a million times and slowed it down can’t figure out the finger positions 😭
Nothing wrong with a one pickup Tele! Especially when it sounds like that! However! Gotta do a Maton!
Do you guys have a hofner guitar?
Cool !
is the pickguard supposed to be bulging up like that? Looks like it doesn't fit.
If they cranked the screws too much it'll buckle up like that over the years.
Saw the Cars in 1981 or 82 it was foggy then, lol
Can we please get an instrumental cover album from Michael?
Michael “sir licks a lot “ lemmo . Geezers mint btw 🤙🏻
That dual pickkng 😲

Gonzo 59 WednESday
Gonzo 59 sure you can...twosday.
excelente tributo, aunque los dos temas fueron con la voz de ''Ben Orr'' pero no importa...
When you said we have Dwezzil. Then I mean Dwezzil Zappa. I though it was the other Dwezzil. So many of them
Jenn says "OK, OK" when she's not really impressed.
she loves the butter yellowish see through blond on this guitar
@@plumiegirl47
Yep!
I hear that from women all the time.
@@guitarlusteuphoria4507 ok ok ....
texanfournow... Congratulations, Lemmo just talked about your comment.
