Vance Stone Um, no. I played lots of Doom when I was younger, listened to all sorts of music (including Manson), and I turned out just fine and dandy. Your solution isn't a solution. This is the same kind of non-sense that people like Dr. Phil try to sell.
My God, you trolling a-holes just don't get it, even though u watched the video. I'm not shocked by ur trolls. I just pity u for not having anything better to do with ur worthless lives. You just set up these utube accounts to troll people. Geez, get a life.
I’d say it’s a good thing to reach out to younger kids who are edgy and look up to them cause it could make them rethink things especially with how well put it was in the video and could even stop potential school shootings. That being said anyone over the age of 15-16 who admires them is a complete idiot, even their manifesto seemed like it was written by a middle schooler
Dear Tom, I want to tell you how deeply sorry I am for your loss. I am sure your son keeps looking after you and he is proud of how you are responding to trolls. I am sure your son was a sweet, innocent kid who didn't deserve what happened to him. I know my comment is just one in an ocean of words and opinions, but I want to send many blessings to you and your family.
How cold hearted can you be to defend those 2 or putting this guy through more grief than he already went through. As a father I cant imagine the helplessness and anger he must feel seeing these idiots talk senseless shit like. Seeing some of these UA-cam comments really makes me lose faith in humanity sometimes... smh.
Thanks. I agree. But I do respond to these cowards--just once, before I ban them, to tell them what pathetic lives they're leading. Actually I pity them for not having anything better to do with their lives. In most cases they just set up these utube accounts to troll people cuz they have no lives. I think many of them are repeat posters.
Tom Mauser there is a Psychology Today article that profiled trolls. They tend to be anti social personality disorders who are unhappy with their own life and in their late 20s.
Tom Mauser your a total right my friend I don't understand why people are so sick in the world h&k admirers are utter disgusting who in the right mind finds 2 murderers like them appealing is beyond me sick people like !!!
Poor man. Loses his beloved and innocent son to two wasters and then has to put up with pitiful excuses for human beings supporting them and besmirching his son's name. Just ignore them Mr Mauser and I am so sorry for your loss.
Thanks, Kara. I do largely ignore them and seldom am very bothered by them, and since posting this video have seen a big decline in the messages from them. A few trolls weigh in occasionally, but seldom. I keep the video on here as a reminder to us all that the truly sick admirers are out there among us.
What's worse is Rob Merritt (the co-author of Brooks Brown's book) is pretending to be a "podcaster" named "Bill Ockham" and is colluding with Randy Brown for who knows what reason, and is name-dropping, telling everyone he's got an interview/podcast with Tom Mauser, and he's using Tom's name to get subscribers and attention for whatever scheme they are up to. It's not just H&K admirers... people from the Columbine community (Randy & Rob) are also being trolls.
I sat next to a H&K admirer in my first our class when I was a freshman in high school in 1999. He was several years older than me. He was about 400lbs with bright orange hair (not died just natural) and he used to carve the word "kill" into his skin day after day. I talked to him nicely everyday until I got him to laugh one day. He was picked on so bad probably even by his own family too that's how bad it was. He ended up getting expelled for planning a "columbine" on my school. Later in life he sent me a MySpace message and told me he just wanted to thank me for being the only person who was kind to him and acknowledged he was a real person. The day I got him to laugh was the day he was going to "blow up our school and kill himself" but he changed his mind bc someone was kind to him for the first time ever that day. He thanked me for not only saving his life but my actions saved many others. It's costs $0.00 to be kind. You never know what is going on in someone head. "Your character isn't determined by how many people you are kind to but by how many people you are kind to THAT CAN DO NOTHING FOR YOU!"
***** Hmm, well, I guess a few reasons. One, as bad as it can get, it's still tame compared to some of the nasty and hateful stuff I've received from gun nuts, who are usually adults, whereas these trolls are often kids. It's easier to be a bit more forgiving. Also, what good would my anger do? These are faceless cowards lurking in the internet. Why get upset like they'd want me to be? I feel that I got to speak my mind in this UA-cam video, and there's a chance they watched the video before responding --so maybe eventually my words will sink in.
Oh and the kids who say Eric and Dylan are heroes that should be commended for the shooting are just edgy kids being edgy. I guarantee if they were ever in a shooting they'd change their tune very quickly.
Heck of video Mr Mauser. I watched the Columbine documentary and Daniel always struck me as brave because he pushed a chair towards Eric Harris. To do that to a person who is pointing a gun at you takes guts. Peace and love sir :)
My condolences, Mr Mauser. I'm from Russia and I was only 2 years old when it happend. I've learned about this tragedy recently.I've read a lot about this event.I've seen a lot of films.I read H&K journals.I still can't understand why they did it...Tom,I admire you.I admire your courage and honor. You are doing an amazing job.Thank you.
Yeah Mr Mauser you are very strong. I admire you too. I am sure that one day in another Life you and Daniel will be together again. My english is not good sorry. Je vous embrasse de la France et vous souhaite le meilleur.
I think dylans journals was heartbreaking. a lot of their entries are very similar to ones I myself have written. and that's why people relate to them. Not everyone that was shot were bullies. People that say horrible things to this innocent man - SHAME ON YOU. You are gutless cowards. All the best to you sir.
theres no way daniel was a bully to eric and dylan. he is 15 years old and eric is 18 and dylan is 17 there older than him i think eric and dylan were the bullys
Eric and Dylan wouldn't have done the school massacre if it weren't for bullying. Literally, I have watched documentaries on it and I have heard the words written down in both their journals. They only were calling people names for no reason.
I was bullied from my first year ever starting school, to my senior year, but I do not feel bad for Eric or Dylan. They were bullies themselves, they were not completely victims. And even if they were bullied, that is no excuse to go and kill people. The best revenge is to grow up and become successful and show the bullies that you are more than what they thought you were.
I have tremendous amounts of respect for you for taking the time to craft this response. Daniel was a beautiful kid, just type his name into Google and you can't miss that smile. It lights up a room. I am so sorry for your loss. Rest in peace.
Dear Tom, I have been following the tragic events of Columbine since they happened in 1999. I was deeply saddened with what had happened to the kids who lost their lives. Back then there were no means to communicate with the affected families. Here we are 20 years later, thankfully we have UA-cam to be able to communicate with you. My utmost sincere condolences and respect to you for your loss. From what I have seen on TV, Daniel was a great kid. May he rest in peace and may God bless you and your family. Nick From Lebanon
Yeah, because they were jealous of their innocence and goodness. Note that they DIDN'T kill any "bullies" that had "tormented" them...Just those they saw as very innocent. There's nothing "lol" about two teens being so self-absorbed they could actually seem to enjoy killing their peers...Nothing to look up to in that. They were miserable and they should have handled it waaaay better.
Recently I've been researching this tragedy, and stories of parents that have children who died that day are interesting to me because it gives a glimpse of the kid of effect it can have on one person just opens my eyes. The fact that you can publicly speak about your son and what this actually means to you is just inspiring. Thank you so much, Tom. I never knew Daniel, yet I miss him.
Thoughts with you mate from England! Ignore the sad bast***s that say these things. They are just keyboard bullies and cowards. Anyway RIP to your son and keep strong
Thanks. I agree. I do respond to these trolls--just once, before I ban them, to tell them what pathetic lives they're leading. Actually I pity them for not having anything better to do with their lives. In most cases they just set up these utube accounts to troll people cuz they have no lives. I think many of them are repeat posters. I like your term "keyboard bullies." None of them would have the balls to say any of this to the face of those they troll.
Hey Mr. Mouser. I just wanna give my sympathies to you and your family. Daniel seemed like a great kid and will always be remembered. I can't imagine the pain you've been through and look up to the fact you didn't let it get the best of you. God bless
+Kills Alone they could of told there parents they could of went to a board of education they could of went to the cops. Yes I have been attacked by bullies. I was whipped in the head with a basketball and binders by more than one student called every name in the book sexually harassed by a student. So yes I've been where these kids were at do I feel I wish they would of got help instead of killing 13 innocent people yes definitely. did those particular kids bullied them no. did they want to kill the who school yes.
+Jasmine “Jaz” Koidhis Finally a comment that makes sense. Nothing justifies shooting up a school. They didn't even kill any of the jocks that picked on them. All the victims were just normal kids. It sucks you had to go through that tho. People can be really cruel. I always stuck up for the kids getting picked on in school.
I am a 13 year old kid and I cry everytime I hear your story. I am really sorry about your son, Daniel. I would hate to be in a position that your son was in. Your son has a good heart. You sound like you are a very good father.
Everything you said in this video was completely correct, they weren't targeting just anyone specifically. Eric and Dylan were both mentally disturbed, homicidal and suicidal. I sympathize with both Eric and Dylan and the victims in the school, in addition to the family's that suffered great pain. Bullying is something we all need to pay more attention too. I'm so sorry for your loss, and that even to this day, you still have to deal with the ignorant trolls on the internet. So much respect to you posting this video.
I feel so bad for Tom Mauser . People are so clueless and hateful. You shouldn't have to defend the character of a son you lost. My heart goes out to you!
+reb harris Care to say who this was? I doubt anyone in that library looked up too much as they were probably balled up in fear. I don't know you and all you have to go by is a keyboard statement but plenty of kids who were there have different statements and timelines how everything played out. Unless we can hear the actual recording in the library all the way through, non of us will ever know the full story.
I agree with you. I doubt he attacked him but I believe he may have pushed a chair towards him and that small act seem pretty big considering the situation he was in having Eric pointing a shotgun at his body.
+reb harris, I have to wonder what type of values a person has, to be using a picture of a person responsible for the murder of Mr. Mauser's son, and to post comments where he is addressing the issue of their admirer's. Mr. Mauser would rather never see this face for the rest of his life. What's going on with you? (I apologize if I'm putting words in your mouth Mr. Mauser) I also question the values of someone using a picture of a deceased son, who has a family that loved him, and at the same time must live with the unspeakable crimes of their son who selfishly took his life and condemned his family to live with his murderous rage until the day they die. Have you not a bone in your body that can put 2+2 together, and figure out how socially unacceptable this is? Have you no compassion? No sense of right or wrong? I understand you can hide behind social media, but that gives you no excuse to be an arrogant, and hateful person. Just think about it. I hope you'll consider my words and do something to make yourself feel better in a healthier way.
Dabnabbit now that I think about it, I think he was the only one who fought back. It's terrible he was even in that position. If I was the first responding officer I would have chased them boys down, they were inexperienced little boys shooting guns, is be a trained police officer. I know this is all easier said then done, but it could have been stopped a lot sooner. Apparently there was an officer right outside the library door at one point but he was ordered to back off, and I read the snipers had klebold in their sights numerous times but were ordered not to shoot. I'm not 100 percent of what I read is factual, but I was reading from credible sources I figured. If only the kids came up with a plan to tackle klebold and Harris from behind. I know if them two boys were here today they'd regret every single thing they did. They would never be able to look in the mirror. The only legacy they left is heartache.
I'm really sorry for what happened to Daniel and the other poor victims, it makes me really depressed every time I look things up like this, RIP the victims of columbine. :(
How awful that people feel the need to harass a parent of a victim, and how bizarre that some should admire the killers. There's nothing to admire about two very unstable people with going into a school with guns. That's a very simple truism. Awful that your son was victim to this nonsensical violence, awful that it happened at all.
Tom, it is so great that you have posted this video. I live in Colorado, so as you would know, the impact of that day is very strong here. I am deeply sorry for the loss of your son and I am glad to see that you are still strong almost 16 years later. Please keep doing good for this world, and stay positive.
Those two dudes had their 15 *years* of fame. Why won't the victims of any of these events get the attention of the public? Why won't their stories be heard more often?
Also with common sense..Daniel was 15 and they were seniors. I highly doubt Daniel wouldve bullied them or even knew who they were anyway. these people that look up to H and K are crazy as hell.
I am 16 and i live in the uk. we have to do out english coursework on the columbine massacre and how it changed america. in the last 3 days of watching videos and reading articles i have found it all very overwhelming to hear all the stories and read the comments some people have left. i cant even begin to imagine how you and all the families of victimes of the CHS must feel but my prayers are with you all and i hope that people will respect what you have been through rather than leave hate. RIP daniell and all the other innocent victims of collumbine highschool xxx
Mr. Mauser, My son graduated High School in 1998 and my daughter graduated in 2000. Now they are in their 30's. I can't imagine the pain of losing your son must have brought upon your family. My prayers go out to you and your family. Sincerely, Randy
Tom, I'm a 31yo from Texas and just wanted to write you on here. Despite all the bull shit people behind keyboards present to you, just know there are so many of us that are here for you and will forever have you, your son and the other victims in our memory. I'm so sorry this happened. Thanks for staying strong.
Sir, I hate that people can be so mean & heartless. It makes me extremely sad that you not only have to endure the loss of your child but you have to hear cruel comments about your boy. I pray for you & all victims of this heinous crime & the many that have followed. I wish you well & wish the opposite for the cowards that have attacked you. They will get to meet their 2 "heroes" down under one day. God Bless you & your family!
Currently studying for my Sociology exam and I will be writing about Columbine High School massacre as an aspect under media and crime. Reminded me of Mr. Mauser as I was studying. Hope you are well sir!
R.I.P. to All the victims (not just the 15 fatalities) those who both tragically died and those who lost friends, family, and were traumatized or lost a huge price of their life.
Mr. Mauser, thank you so much for being so open and honest in response to those people that truly do not understand what you have gone through. It says a lot about your character, trying to explain the error in their thinking. I am incredibly sorry for the loss of your son. ~~Sandy from WI
I really feel sorry for Daniel from every video i watched posting by you Mr Mauser I can see how much he was loved and how wonderful person he was. especially one when you saw the birds flying high and you said that is like for Daniel, it was definitely for him. That so beautiful that after all those years you're love for him didn't change a bit Daniel was very lucky to have so loving family
I am so sorry for your loss. I went to the 10 year reunion after becoming friends with Richard Castaldo. You are such a brave and strong father. I am now a mother to a 6 year old daughter. The thought of this happening not only to her, god forbid, or anywhere else, I can't fathom. Again, my deepest sympathy and thoughts go out to you and yours. it's been 17 years, and it's still disgustingly fantasized for sick sick people. And it's unfortunate that there are cruel and very ignorant people who would taunt or leave crude messages. I know you must hear it all the time, but you are amazing for what your doing, and how you remember your son. Good for you, and love from Texas!
also I've been bullied just because of my autism I've been thrown under the bus and blacklisted from a community i care about where it makes me happy but I've also had school bullies to the point one of them slammed my head into a toilet i really agree with you about bullying needing to be stopped.
God bless you Tom Mauser. I have a 19 year old son who is my pride and joy, so I can't even fathom what you have gone through. You are a courageous man sir. I pray for you to keep on fighting the agony that must come from time to time from now and throughout your future. I'm not sure what your faith is but I will keep you in my prayers. God bless you Tom.
You're a very strong man Tom. You could easily block, ignore and say nasty things to the people that are rude to you or that say terrible things about the other victims and your son. But you choose to address them and hit the nail on the head. Thank you for sharing your videos with us. God bless.
+Tom Mauser Dear sir, I commend you for your on-going fight to keep going . You must be just exhausted....to have to explain over and over....for years.....The thought of what you have endured over the years........makes me just wonder........... there really was no real answer for what happened on April 20 or anytime this happens hereafter........people seem to copycat from what they know........I do think if there is anyone to blame........it has to be largely due to the media and Money. Shock sells, pain sells, tragedy sells. Much respect sir.........You will see your son again sir.........I'm sure of it. Please take care.
+Tom Mauser Fuck these kids who troll. They're immature little shits who haven't lived or experienced anything you went through. God Bless your son, & God Bless you.
As someone who has followed this case from just about every angle possible. I am glad to see you still looking healthy and speaking about this particular case. I think people tend to miss all of the lessons learned from this incident because they focus only on the guns. Again, Good to see you are still doing this.
***** You must be ignorant to the actual ideas of satanism. I do not bash other for how they believe nor do I believe in death, destruction, etc like the mainstream media would like you to believe. I am a human being as are you. No need for your hostility on a video that is supposed to be against that sort of thing.
***** Again, It is you who is being hostile as a man of god and I (a man of darkness in your eyes) am calmly explaining to you that it isn't about all of that hate you have built up inside of you. The man in this video lost someone dear to him because of that same anger. I am not concerned with who's god or lack thereof is going to destroy what. My concern is that we, as human beings, treat each other with respect and dignity instead of spouting off hateful rhetoric over the internet. You can continue to disrespect me and that is ok, your words do not hurt me, but you should have enough respect for this man to refrain from starting petty arguments in a video of this nature.
***** Because I live in the United States of America where I am free to believe in whichever form I choose, Do you have an issue with that? If you do you are free to move to a more strict country where you are put to death with not believing in what god the government chooses to oppress you with.
***** First of all, It is very clear that you have no idea what you are talking about. I do not believe in God nor do I believe in Satan. Second, You are the only one here showing any malice at all. What does that say about your god when you act like that towards someone whom you do not know even slightly? Third, It does not matter to me how you believe or how you think that I should believe and no amount of preaching to me is going to change that, I am very educated in religions from most every culture and have read your bible many times. Last but not least, I am going to ask you again why you think it is ok to belittle me using your choice faith on a post about gun safety? I think you are being very rude towards the man who posted this.
Just finished reading your book, thank you for telling us all about your beautiful boy. So very sorry for your loss and for the harassment you've had to endure from some disturbed people. I wish you and your family well xx
Hi! I'm so sorry for your loss. I personally love to read about things like this and I'm just stuck at H&K's backstory and how they felt. I'm not thinking that what they did was right, I just love this kinds of stuff. But I'm really sorry for your loss. ❤️ ( sorry for my bad English )
I'm actually researching Columbine for a psych class, and it is fascinating to study H&K from the psychological aspect; it's interesting how different they were and how their mental illnesses made each other explode like that. I'm also reading the memorial sites, information on the victims and their planning and lives; it gets me really emotional and I rarely ever cry. Your videos give a lot of insight into my paper because it's focusing on H&K's mental illnesses as well as the aftermath and the grief suffered. My teacher's asking for a lot on this and I can't even comprehend how horrible it is for the victim's family.
Thanks for writing and reflecting. Too often there are those who overlook the mental illness issue because they want to blame bullying (because they suffer from it themselves) or want to stop bullying. It is a terrible problem but it must be kept in context and those who are bullied shouldn;t be maligned as being likely to 'explode."
Heart goes out to you, you're a strong guy. Must be really hard, let alone having to deal with these losers who think its funny to do something so sick. People really don't think, they just try to be funny and show off but really they come across as socially awkward losers. I like your reply, really I am sorry for your loss. I hope in the future individuals such as Harris, Klebold and even Seung-Hui Cho can be diagnosed and supported so events like this don't reoccur. A lot of respect for you man, honestly. I know, bullying is awful. At the end of the day, slaughtering individuals as a sick way of getting revenge is plain wrong. I'm sure your son was a great young man. Even if he did look the other way, he did not deserve any of this. Your son was the victim of two insane individuals who needed help and support they never got. Have a nice day.
You are an amazing man. I was watching 13 families and when I saw how you were fighting for stricter gun laws it made me really happy and proud. Your son would be so proud.
Just recently started reading about issues like Columbine and gun control and it's just so disturbing. The fact that Police couldn't arrest Eric after all the things he put online and the fact their parents couldn't tell they were that disturbed is hard to believe. It should have been prevented. Also the fact that people support the shooters is even harder to believe. The fact that there are people who would troll the Father of one of the victims breaks my heart. It's all just so upsetting really. What was going on with Eric and Dylan and what they did and how it damaged everybody. It also inspired the Virginia Tech shooting. I feel really bad for Tom Mauser and the victims of Columbine.
The police could have searched Eric's home and found all the evidence he had hidden. Then the whole thing would have been prevented. But the police failed to follow through with a search warrant. Then they hid the evidence for several years after everything happened.
bucknhot It's not just the things that could have prevented it that were not done it's the things not done when it happened. They didn't challenge the killers by going inside to stop them. Daniel Mauser may still be alive if they did. Columbine really changed police procedures. When the Virginia Tech shooting happened they challenged the killer and went inside. Probably prevented it from being worse then it was.
Thank you, Mr. Mauser, for sharing Daniel's story and doing such amazing advocacy work in his honour. I'm so sorry for your loss, and sorry for the hate you are receiving with the 20th anniversary coming up. I never knew Daniel, as I was three at the time of his death, but I think about him often. From everything I've read about him, he sounds like the kind of person I would have loved to have as a friend. His legacy lives on and the world is slowly becoming a better and safer place because of the work you do. Thank you for everything, wishing you and your family the best.
God bless you, and I admire your courage throughout these years.... I am very sorry for what happened to your son, as well as the other victims of the columbine shooting..... anyone who would go out of their way to hurt a grieving father, really needs to get some help before they become the next klebold or the next harris..... RIP DANIEL.
Your composure and candor are powerful. Thank you for finding a way to channel some of your grief into advocacy for stricter gun laws and for a more humane and less violent society.
I was a freshman when columbine happened and have done extensive research on it on and off ever since. I have also been confined to a wheelchair all my life so I know what its like to be an outcast. I also know the difference between being depressed and being a flat out monster. Someone who is depressed usually keeps to themselves. Thats it. They dont want to hurt anyone. They're sad and want things to get better. Eric and Dylan however, were into Nazism. They were racist. They hated god. We all have our beliefs but if you hate something that stands for good then You are purely a symbol of evil. I wish I could travel back in time to that day and stop what they did.
No problem Mr. Mauser. My heart truly goes out to you and all the other families who's lives were altered on that day. Funny you mention internet trolls because I listen to this overnight radio program called "coast to coast" and the host talks about that alot and how he'd like to do a whole show on the subject of people who like to type tough.....be well sir.
Depression manifests itself in many different ways. It's unfair to say they couldn't have been depressed because they were racists, nazis, or anti-theists.
Hi Mr. Mauser, I just wanted to applaud you for responding in this way. I am a 27 year old member of this community and am a member of Columbine United Church. Our pastor wrote a book called Sent to Soar and I just finished the chapter called "The Shootings". It turns out he was a responder that tragic afternoon. It just got me thinking about all the kids. It makes my heart hurt to think of the pain you and your family had to go through and I guess I just thought I should tell you I think you are very brave and strong for living through the loss of your son. Again, thank you for your response. I don't understand how anyone could support and perpetuate such hate. My prayers of peace are with you and your family Mr. Mauser. God bless.
Mr. Mauser, I am deeply touched with you and your sons story, and I highly appreciate the fact that you are using this unfortunate tragedy for such a good cause. After doing some research on this tragedy I have come to agree that I do think that guns play a very big part and can cause much more damage to our lives than we think, and so due to this I am anti - gun. I am very sorry for your loss. Daniel was a very lovely, charming and kind human being, I am glad that his death along with the 12 other victims has shed light on this issue and tightened gun laws and security around the world. Every time I hear Daniel's story it inspires me to do something good for the world. I have to thank you for that as you play a very big part in it. Thank you for all the work and dedication you have put into this, I hope it carries on. I am planning on buying your book very soon and was wondering where I could purchase it? Thank you.
I still do not understand it why the police did not intervene... standing just in front of the school and have not done anything while people were shot in the school
At the time the standard operating procedure for the police was to surround and contain the scene and attempt to negotiate (whereas now, largely b/c of Columbine, they now use an active shooter SOP). But even under the old SOP, how could you not react to 911 calls of shooting inside the school, even though, admittedly, there were reports of bombs? There were kids in there. Even in the military SOP can be adjusted to meet the situation. Sheriff Stone blew it, big time. You can't blame the individual officers.
Jonas Christener SWAT teams WERE there. But Sheriff Stone wouldn't let them go in, for THEIR own safety. He waited it out. And now he has to live with that for the rest of his life...
I would have broke protocol and ran my ass right into that school, this is the oath that officers take, which is to run to the danger while others run away.I could have not been a cop in that area on that day.Because I would have gotten fired or maybe would have died in the process but lives would have been saved. At ALL COST!
There's a UA-cam account called "cleaning columbine" which makes some very intelligent arguments about the bullying situation with H&K. I believe they were outcasts on some level, but I don't believe that is entirely why they attacked the school, and they should absolutely not be considered martyrs for bullying. I was wondering if you've heard of this youtube account, because it also just posted a tribute for your son.
+crybaby Losers, this guy son's Daniel Mauser was probably the last person who would bully someone, so anyone saying his son was a bully is full of shit, Harris and Klebold kiilled him for their death toll.
Eric and Dylan were bullies themselves. They were hypocrites. They killed Kyle Velasquez because of his disability. Not because he was bully. None of the people they killed even bully them. They even spared Evan Todd's life who was the REAL bully to them.
i came across one woman in the feed of one of the documentaries omg what a sick pathetic sow of a woman she was in her 40s yet dressed like a teenager all in pink and she was a HUGE fan of the two especially Dylan her youtube channel was full of videos of her house covered in pictures of him and bedding with him all over it she was a totally deranged freak
I honestly believe the main reason this attack was carried out was because Eric Harris was mad at the world, and Dylan Klebold was influenced by Eric who believed that if their lives were going to be terrible, then everyone else deserved to suffer. Eric wanted to kill and didn't care if he died, and Dylan wanted to die and didn't care if he killed. What they did was horrible but I still don't think it's gun laws that are the problem, I think it's how we view mental health and how we treat disorders that possibly contributed to this tragedy. I'm very sorry for your loss and I thank you for your time reading this.
The Columbine massacre has moved me for years...this year it has haunted me so badly. I feel for the families and the victims. I hope you’re doing ok Mr. Mauser
I want to thank you for speaking out about this and I'm sorry for the loss for your son. and how your moving forward and not giving up.again thank you having the courage for speaking and sharing your story.you are truly a good man again sorry for your loss and good bless.
Daniel’s memory is bright and honored in so many hearts. No one will ever be able to take that away from you Mr. Mauser - not the two murderers and certainly not their low-life admirers. Sending love and light to your beautiful strong family.
@P0ssy Plez I'm black and that is wack! Hey mom where did you put my animal pack? Also I appreciate your pink guy profile picture, it really gives me a stiffy
Mr Tom Mauser I am from Greece and I have watched all the documentaries about columbine. There are no words to describe how I felt and you are so right on anything you say!!!!!!! I do believe the trolls need attention in their lives since they are living an empty life so by doing so they believe that they will gain something. Ending a life so violently is something that it stays in our mind forever. Life should be respected because it's a Gods gift to humanity and not something to play with.
Well said sir. So sorry for your loss and am amazed at how calm you kept. I know if I were in your shoes I'd be cussin and screaming at people. Your perseverance is inspiring especially where I am in my life at current. I'm glad to have stumbled across this. Thank you
I hear that- I myself have had some terrible problems regarding those "Keyboard Thugs" in my own life- I have a disability that most people my age have never seen in person (Polio) and the things people (who never even met me) wrote on my Myspace/Facebook/UA-cam was so hurtful it caused me to be hospitalized. I must say Mr.Mauser, that I wish I had seen your videos years ago- I have a new attitude towards my personal struggles and hope you know that my attitude since first finding your page on the 5th has drastically changed from "I'll always be miserable/ No one has it as bad as DANA has it" to "Well this sucks, but you aren't the only one with problems, and your problems are worse than some and better than some- and if people can lose their children/homes/parents/body-mobility and be positive, I can to." Is there a way we could possibly exchange e-mails? I'd love a little more insight on how you were able to gain such a great attitude towards these wimps and live a (as it appears) fulfilling life. Thanks for the reply! Dana
It sickens me that so many people admire sick creatures like Eric and Dylan, want to be like them, that so many admire those two that a victim himself has to come online and respond to them. This is sick. Disgusting.
My respects Mr. Mauser, I know these last years must have been very difficult for you and your family, do not stop this fight, Daniel's death was not in vain, it's time for a change, continue; We support around of the world. Greetings from Panama.
Dear Mr. Mauser, First of all, I'd like to saw that I agree with everything you said, and I give my sympathy for your loss. It appears each year, trolls accumulate, and technology expands. You rarely or ever see a crowd of trolls in public, yelling and aggressively shouting how they worship and sympathize with the killers, because they are afraid, because they rather hide behind a screen and taunt others. However, when it comes to being in person, if they were to troll, they would be asking for a death sentence from families and friends who have lost their loved ones from the mass murderers that these trolls seem to look up to. Fact of the matter is, they're nothing but childish individuals who don't have any potential in their lives, and if so, they rather waste it on making others feel lower than them, because they know, we all know, that these trolls realize they are scum, but live in a world of in denial. I say you are strong and you know how to walk through hell and withstand the fools of this world. You have my support!
Those admirers are silly and still 'suffering' from puberty. It's full of so called 'columbiners' on tumblr and it really annoys me. I hope they grow up soon enough. (Although I'm around their age. I guess I'm just more mature or mentally healthier than they are.) Did your son have any kind of contact with any of those two guys? I'm so sorry for your loss and I'm sure your son was a beautiful and kind human being. I doubt he'd be the type to bully two kids. I do look up to you as you've gone through such a dreadful thing! I hope nothing but the best for you in the future!
My aunt who was Senior in the time, at Columbine High School, said that they didn't shoot up just bullies but anyone they seen. She even talked in a interwiew. Also, I feel really bad for your son Daniel. Seemed like good, nice and intelligent boy.
+Sarah's biscuit ! Thanks for the kind words about Daniel. They're true. And it's true about the killers; they just tried to kill everyone, then 'played God' in the library.
Trolling is fun but who trolls a dad about his dead kid?
+unholychunk Apparently hundreds of people. There's a lot of sick people out there in the world.
+unholychunk Yea Agreed...
Vance Stone Um, no. I played lots of Doom when I was younger, listened to all sorts of music (including Manson), and I turned out just fine and dandy. Your solution isn't a solution. This is the same kind of non-sense that people like Dr. Phil try to sell.
Vance Stone How am I supposed to know if I can't hear your delivery or tone of voice, along with the lack of any indicators that this is sarcasm?
You fail
Who would troll a dad about his dead son?
The mentally unfit people and society rejects.
Agreed

My God, you trolling a-holes just don't get it, even though u watched the video. I'm not shocked by ur trolls. I just pity u for not having anything better to do with ur worthless lives. You just set up these utube accounts to troll people. Geez, get a life.
What the fuck is wrong with your head?
They killed people for no fucking reason and the people who ''bullied'' them they didn't even kill.
This guy roasted the trolls so hard "When you grow up... IF You ever grow up"
As they say; "Don't feed the trolls, roast the trolls."
@@michaellovely6601 I don’t like trolls it’s mad annoying
He didnt roast anybody- he demonstrated that the trolls won.
Fuck that shit we don’t have to
This guy has the patience of a saint to be taking the time to address the idiots who admire Harris and Klebold.
I agree!
Exactly
Dear Tom, I want to tell you how deeply sorry I am for your loss. I am sure your son keeps looking after you and he is proud of how you are responding to trolls. I am sure your son was a sweet, innocent kid who didn't deserve what happened to him. I know my comment is just one in an ocean of words and opinions, but I want to send many blessings to you and your family.
How cold hearted can you be to defend those 2 or putting this guy through more grief than he already went through. As a father I cant imagine the helplessness and anger he must feel seeing these idiots talk senseless shit like. Seeing some of these UA-cam comments really makes me lose faith in humanity sometimes... smh.
+Hermetic Kitten Thanks.
+Tom Mauser Thank you, for being so kind to answer, dear Tom. I wish you a wonderful day.
Tom Mauser you're fucking hot.... long live the mighty... Long live the brave... long live the dreamers
It is still possible to find comments that come from the heart on the internet. Thank you Hermetic Kitten, You made my day. Have a great day anyway.
These cowards are not worth your time.
Thanks.
Kara Aasr honestly
Greetings tom
RIP Daniel Mauser.
He must have been a great kid. 😓
Thanks. Yes, he was.
Tom Mauser I really Don't understand why people would admire those two shooters.
RIP💚

oop- you gotta chill , daniel was a straight A student . he never got any bad grades .
Rest in Peace Daniel Mauser and the other 12 victims.
***** You're banned, useless troll.
***** You're also banned, cowardly troll.
Jack Mehoff Thanks, Jack.
***** Thanks.
Oh and the kids who say Eric and Dylan are heroes that should be commended for the shooting are just edgy kids being edgy. I guarantee if they were ever in a shooting they'd change their tune very quickly.
Yes, I'm sure they would.
Heck of video Mr Mauser. I watched the Columbine documentary and Daniel always struck me as brave because he pushed a chair towards Eric Harris. To do that to a person who is pointing a gun at you takes guts. Peace and love sir :)
+valoguy Thanks. We will never know why Daniel did it. What's pretty clear, though, is that he paid for that act with his life.
+Tom Mauser :'''(
blazingbuns indeed he did
He pushed the chair because Eric was laughing at his glasses.
Doris Strzelczyk You know why they did it.

@@henrycrabs3497 funny guy eh? Clearly not you
I think dylans journals was heartbreaking. a lot of their entries are very similar to ones I myself have written. and that's why people relate to them. Not everyone that was shot were bullies. People that say horrible things to this innocent man - SHAME ON YOU. You are gutless cowards. All the best to you sir.
Thanks.
This man is a good man and I'm glad he wants to do something about mental health and guns.
A100Aic They shot anyone they encountered.
His Journal was just r/im14andthisisdeep
theres no way daniel was a bully to eric and dylan. he is 15 years old and eric is 18 and dylan is 17 there older than him i think eric and dylan were the bullys
evil akuma You don't know what you are talking about
oh great a dylan and eric supporter
so are you going to say eric and dylan are your heroes and stuff
i said i think they were bullies. just because i said i think they were bullies doesn't mean its true.
+Mr. X wtf??
What a bunch of bs. Enough of these conspiracy theories. Enough of you. You've lost your privileges to post here...
Yeah, it's bs. He'll no longer be on my channel with his ridiculous conspiracy stories.
Well said, countrybutterfly 👏🏼
Thanks. Yes, well said. And besides, many of these bullies are insecure and at risk of not growing up and becoming successful themselves.
I have tremendous amounts of respect for you for taking the time to craft this response.
Daniel was a beautiful kid, just type his name into Google and you can't miss that smile. It lights up a room. I am so sorry for your loss.
Rest in peace.
hurpDurp1000 Thanks, and thanks for your kind words.
Great video Mr Mauser. Sending much love. You're ace!
Thanks.
Tom Mauser stay strong! :)
I feel sorry for this guy he shouldn't have to go through all this
Thanks. Not to worry--it really doesn't bother me much. I pity these lost people.
Dear Tom,
I have been following the tragic events of Columbine since they happened in 1999.
Nick
From Lebanon
Sorry these people have no lives. Long live your son, Daniel and the other victims.
+reb harris they chose to die together...speaks volumes. Should have just come out...
+Terrence McGoldrick that guy and others like him lack basic human goodness.
They were miserable and they should have handled it waaaay
better.
PS Get some kind of life of your own, "Reb." You're not Eric Harris.
No. But if I feel like it, I will.
God bless
239 thumbs down? What the hell is wrong with these people????
Vance Stone I guess. Sad. :(
I could only imagine going through the loss of your own child.
What's wrong with them lack of knowledge and respect. Bullying is a problem yes, but doesn't give a right to be shot...
+andy s I Actually, a few of them were jocks, but still doesn't make it right by any stretch of the imagination.
You're a great man sir. Violence will never solve the problem, only make it worse. Thankyou for the video.
You're welcome. And thank you.
I am a 13 year old kid and I cry everytime I hear your story. I am really sorry about your son, Daniel. I would hate to be in a position that your son was in. Your son has a good heart. You sound like you are a very good father.
Thanks for writing and for your kind words. It's very special for a 13 year old to take the time to write...
Thanks, Christie.
I feel so bad for Tom Mauser . People are so clueless and hateful. You shouldn't have to defend the character of a son you lost. My heart goes out to you!
I'm at a loss of words for everything you've had to go through, your son was brave fighting back against Eric.
Mauser)
I also question the values of someone using a picture of a deceased son, who has a family that loved him, and at the same time must live with the unspeakable crimes of their son who selfishly took his life and condemned his family to live with his murderous rage until the day they die.
Thanks.
Well said, Tom. Loved how your response was firm yet assiduous in conveying the coherence and goodness of your message.
God bless you and your family, Mr. Mauser.
Thanks, Kyle.
How awful that people feel the need to harass a parent of a victim, and how bizarre that some should admire the killers. There's nothing to admire about two very unstable people with going into a school with guns. That's a very simple truism. Awful that your son was victim to this nonsensical violence, awful that it happened at all.
Thanks.
Never forgotten..I lost my mom and aunt to domestic violence eleven years ago..it doesn't seems like it gets any better...much hugs and respect
Tom, it is so great that you have posted this video. I live in Colorado, so as you would know, the impact of that day is very strong here. I am deeply sorry for the loss of your son and I am glad to see that you are still strong almost 16 years later. Please keep doing good for this world, and stay positive.
tprlegends Thanks.
Those two dudes had their 15 *years* of fame. Why won't the victims of any of these events get the attention of the public? Why won't their stories be heard more often?
That's the freakish society we have. Morbid curiosity too often wins over compassion.
Tom Mauser Excellent video Mr Mauser. Thanks for sharing.
James Pittman Thanks.
Also with common sense..Daniel was 15 and they were seniors. I highly doubt Daniel wouldve bullied them or even knew who they were anyway. these people that look up to H and K are crazy as hell.
Pretty sure he didn't know them. And as an extreme introvert he would more likely have been bullied himself.
Thanks for writing and for your prayers.

Praying for you sir, I'm so sorry for your loss. I'm glad to see that you addressed this issue.

My heart goes out to you Sir, I am truly saddened by your loss. I am also saddened you are now being bullied with these messages.
Thanks for writing.
Thanks, Christopher. I appreciate your concern, kind words and prayers.
I'm so sorry about the loss of your son. Thoughts and prayers go out to you.
You're a very strong man Tom. You could easily block, ignore and say nasty things to the people that are rude to you or that say terrible things about the other victims and your son. But you choose to address them and hit the nail on the head. Thank you for sharing your videos with us. God bless.
Much respect for you. Ignore the trolls, you are a great father.
+JM4Z Thanks.

Dear sir, I commend you for your on-going fight to keep going .
Yesss You are an amazing man🙌👏
As someone who has followed this case from just about every angle possible.
***** Why does it matter to you? I am not harming you. Why do you keep prodding at me?
When you started talking about your son not being a bully that was very heavy. Thanks for sharing your insight, Tom.
Just finished reading your book, thank you for telling us all about your beautiful boy. So very sorry for your loss and for the harassment you've had to endure from some disturbed people. I wish you and your family well xx
I'm so sorry about the loss of your son. Keep staying strong and brave ♡
Thanks, Lindy.
Hi! I'm so sorry for your loss. I personally love to read about things like this and I'm just stuck at H&K's backstory and how they felt. I'm not thinking that what they did was right, I just love this kinds of stuff. But I'm really sorry for your loss. ❤️
( sorry for my bad English )
I would never lose my respect. I'm really sorry for you and your family, and every other victim.
Thanks.
Exactly. At some point, everyone gets teased or bullied, especially in high school. But not everyone plans on carrying out something like that.
My question why the hell didn't the principal or the teachers do something about bullying at Columbine back then towards everyone?
Fuck you, gun grabbing libtard. Why don't you come take them yourself.
Thanks.
It's been such a long time.I hope you and your family are doing well and you were able to overcome this tragedy.Much love from Germany
I just wish I could give you a big hug
+Lindsey Dixon Well, you've done the next best thing. Thanks for thinking of us.
+Tom Mauser always
Me too
God bless you, and I admire your courage throughout these years....
I can’t imagine your loss, I’m so sorry you have to deal with that!! You all have been in my prayers
Thanks for sharing your thoughts, Jason.
Thats a fair assessment. Racists, Nazi, etc are all forms of hate which could of made their depression worse.
I'm so sorry for your loss and having to put up with these idiots
+Matthew Dowling Thanks, Matthew.
Matthew Dowling holy shit another Dowling lol
Mauser. God bless.
Thanks for writing and for your kind words, Stephanie. BTW, I am a member at CUC also...
Tom Mauser Oh that's awesome! small world!
Mr. Mauser,
I am deeply touched with you and your sons story, and I highly appreciate the fact that you are using this unfortunate tragedy for such a good cause.
Tom Mauser why they didnt call some swat teams, swat teams were supposed to intervene?
Jonas Christener SWAT teams WERE there. But Sheriff Stone wouldn't let them go in, for THEIR own safety. He waited it out. And now he has to live with that for the rest of his life...
Tom Mauser
hey man i guess your soon had birthday right? I just wish him happy birthday :)
+ExtremeMarioPlushies Nope, haven't seen it.
Vary well said sir. I love the way you point out how some off these people are being bullies them self
I am so sorry to hear you went through that. My condolences go out to anybody who has experienced it.
Thanks, Emily.
Tom Mauser You’re welcome
Tom Mauser What is your opinion on the Parkland highschool shooting? 😢
who would send messages like that to grieving dad? fucks sake
+crybaby Losers, this guy son's Daniel Mauser was probably the last person who would bully someone, so anyone saying his son was a bully is full of shit, Harris and Klebold kiilled him for their death toll.
Yep, that's what they are.
Daisy fields thats lynn anne......please for your own sake dont go looking i to that back story just go about ur day she is bat shit crazy
Mr. Mauser is such a strong man, I feel for him. I know he'll find peace if he hasn't already. Rest in peace Daniel... :(
The Columbine massacre has moved me for years...this year it has haunted me so badly. I feel for the families and the victims. I hope you’re doing ok Mr. Mauser
Thanks. I'm doing fine.
"Within the 4 hundered and 20 some characters" I see what you did there.
Have you been in touch with EH or DK parents and relatives, during all these years?
I want to thank you for speaking out about this and I'm sorry for the loss for your son. and how your moving forward and not giving up.again thank you having the courage for speaking and sharing your story.you are truly a good man again sorry for your loss and good bless.
Daniel’s memory is bright and honored in so many hearts. No one will ever be able to take that away from you Mr. Mauser - not the two murderers and certainly not their low-life admirers. Sending love and light to your beautiful strong family.
On my 16th Birthday, I'm going to fly out to Colorado and go to every single columbine victim's graves and pray.
Your ugly

Lloyd Nix same
xd
Thank you
+Dana Mcallister THanks. To not be calm is to give the lowly trolls what they want. That won't happen. I'm used to those pathetic people.
Dana
You have done great work. You are one of my heroes.
Thanks. Sorry I didnt respond earlier.
So sorry about your loss. I can't even imagine what you went through.
Dear Mr. Mauser,
First of all, I'd like to saw that I agree with everything you said, and I give my sympathy for your loss.
Thanks, Christopher. You're right on regarding the trolls.
Hey man, hope you’re doing alright. Can’t imagine what it’s like to go through what you’ve had to experience.
