I loved this game. I remember using my birthday money as a kid to buy this. Had practice after school and the whole time I couldn't wait to get home and play. I didnt have a Voodoo sadly, but I played through this on a Geforce2 MX 200. This runs great on the Voodoo though!

The Geforce 2 MX200 was ok for playing in 800x600, it's overall performance being similar to a Voodoo 3 2000.

Looks like it runs smoothly, many of us had to make our cards last a couple of generations before upgrading back then and goes to show plenty of fun still to be had.

Most levels run very well in 1024x768 with the Voodoo 3 3500 but there are also some where 800x600 has to be selected to keep the FPS at an acceptable level. Still the Voodoo 3 3500 does very well considering that Jedi Academy was released almost 4 and a half years later.

Great fps for 3500 on 1024X768 4 years after 1999.

This level runs very well in 1024x768 but there are also some others which have to be played in 800x600. Still the Voodoo 3 3500 does great considering that it is more than 4 years older than the game.

A mere near 13 minutes and this is better than all of Disney Star Wars.

Star Wars Jedi Academy was a very nice game for the year 2003. I liked the level design the most.

It uses the Quake 3 engine but the system requirements are higher. That was to be expected since Jedi Academy was released in late 2003 almost 4 years after Quake 3. With the Voodoo 3 3500 some levels of Jedi Academy have to be run in 800x600 to have a nice frame rate.

performs realy nice, but i think turning of trilinear filtering and use bilinear plus high textuur settings wil make the game look better and rune the same.

With texture details on high it has frame drops to around 10 fps from time to time. This level runs excellent in 1024x768 but there are other more demanding levels where 800x600 has to be selected in order to keep the FPS at an acceptable level. This game was released more than 4 years after the Voodoo 3.

I played it once until I got stuck in the java level and their huge vehicle, then uninstalled.
My top SW games: KotOR-1, and Republic Commando.

It’s not the best Star Wars game ever but I still liked it a lot.

@@3dfxvoodoocards6 IMHO: Gameplay-wise, it is 'peak' Star Wars Shooter-Saber action. JKII:JO Had a better-playing 'story' though.
I can still remember seeing JKA on the shelf, absolutely ecstatic there was a sequel to Jedi Outcast.
Instant Buy. Instant Install once I was home. Good memories.

@@LRK-GT both Jedi Outcast and Jedi Academy were in my opinion very nice games for the years 2002 and 2003.

I've never played this game before. Runs very smoothly. How did you get the FPS counter work with Glide?

    • @3dfxvoodoocards6
      @3dfxvoodoocards6  8 місяців тому +1

The game run in OpenGL, not Glide. Fraps 1.9D runs in OpenGL and Direct3D. Its a very nice game that uses the Quake 3 engine.
