I too love the log cabin pattern Jessica and, as always, your method of teaching and camera work makes watching your videos a joy. I made a log cabin quilt many, many years ago when I first started quilting. I will make it again using the paper piecing method. Thank you for ending with that lovely smile, so heartwarming, just what is needed in today's world.
Thank you very much! I bet your quilt is gorgeous! I would piece a log cabin traditionally if the logs could be cut at nice increments. In this case, the logs were to the 16th of an inch so I chose paper piecing.
Hello Jessica I’m new to your channel maybe 3 weeks now I love your tutorials and the way you teach my question tonight is wouldn’t you get the same results if the fabric was on top of the paper and not underneath ?
Thanks! I don't see how it would be possible to sew it from the front. I'm not sure if I am picturing it the way you mean, but if you flipped the paper over so that you could see the lines from the top, the fabric would be covering the lines and you wouldn't be able to sew on them. Did that answer your question?
Jessica I haven’t done a log cabin yet. Lol I want too. Done lots of quilts but never log cabin. why use foundation paper piecing? Is it because u are using scraps? I thought u just cut blocks to size? But like I said never made one. Next😂
For this one, I used FPP because each of the strips are small and not an even, easy number to cut at. Very, very often though, the strips are cut at a number where you can just cut and piece without FPP.
Great tutorial, going to give this a try.
Oh I love that quilt block!
Thank you!

nice block.
Thank you!
Another beauty, I love your fabric choices. And, you answered my question as if you could hear me asking.... What if you sew over the line? Ha!
Thank you! And, I'm glad!
Love log cabin pattern. I made my sister a scrappy log cabin quilt. Thank you for sharing😊😊
That is so nice! I bet it is beautiful!
Once again, you are precise and make it look so easy! I would like to know where to find the background fabric…..I love it!
This background is an older one so it's probably not available. It was from Mod Meow by Jedi Craft Girl

Скачать выкройку можно из моего блога. Ссылка в описании под видео
Why do it from the back! Why not just keep the printed side up? This would be so very frustrating for me.
That's just not the way this method is done. The seams need to be underneath. It's fun once you get the hang of it!
