Sleeping Dogs was one of the best games of that generation. The DLC stuff they gave us was a lot of fun too. Such a great game in so many ways. The story and ending really got me. Good writing and acting goes a long way.

And Jak 2 blew my mind when they just completely shifted the entire series while still keeping the core characters and personalities and eco while completely shifting the setting. It's the prince of persia series that I miss the most. The original trilogy had its own fanbase but ubisoft ruined it with prince of persia forgotten sands and then epilogue. Now they tried to remake sands of time and ended up failing miserably. Hope they learn from capcom and do justice to the OG prince of persia fans by remaking all the trilogy.

Yeah I was looking forward to that reboot too. Such a shame these important IP's are held back by companies that used to do a decent job but are so consumed by greed now that they'll just keep throwing cheap shovelware at the wall to see if anything sticks. One series I miss is Killzone.
There's something about the setting and lore that really sets it apart from any regular FPS for me. Sure it's not the best in a technical (Although KZ2 was an incredible step up from the first one) I really enjoyed the single player campaigns and even the multiplayer, I’d not have enough friends to fill an entire lobby, but they named the bots after members of the dev team, making the lobbies feel a lot more full and personal than mere cold numbers.

It's a good example of how devs can make a good game without trying to make it the biggest open world or have the most realistic graphics. I miss Army of Two. The customizability of the guns was amazing, the masks were incredible and when they added the function of customizing your own made it even better, and the story of each game was actually really good for what entry in the series it was. The main issues were the non co-op multiplayer being severely underserved, and the player characters in the third were supposed to be empty slates for a more rpg style game which could've worked had they not put so much pre-established personality into them and allowed your actions to dictate their behavior like in AoT: The 40th Day.

CS2 is going to be the final nail in the coffin of Simcity. CS1 is great, but even in it's greatness it's still missing a few things, in fact one of the best things that SC had was being able to add addition to already existing buildings, and this is something that CS1 does not have. So there was still space for Simcity to make a return and compete and maybe even surpass CS if EA gave the developers enough time, money and freedom. However with CS2 coming and it adding many of the things that CS1 was missing, I think after it releases Simcity will be buried for good.

Soul Reaver was so far ahead of its time, the ability to morph the world between the two realms was something virtually unheard of at the time, the graphics were stunning for its time, I'd even go as far as to say it might have had the best graphics of any game when it came out. It also has one of the most legendary OSTs, the boss fights were fun and engaging, the story was brilliant, like you said it did start to get a little confusing with the whole time warp thing, but overall was still a great story.
But I think if you had a studio that was passionate for the game, and not just focused on money, I think they could make a legendary reboot. And if they pushed it to the limits of today's graphics like they did back then, I think a soul reaver reboot could be one of the most visually impressive games ever made to this point.
This game is probably my most wanted reboot. I just hope if they ever do, they don't have someone like EA or Activision behind it.

I really miss the No One Lives Forever series, it was so much fun to play and had some really good characters and story. The female lead was such a badass character which was really unusual for an FPS at the time. Unfortunately there are some serious issues regarding the licensing for the NOLF franchise (game was developed by Sierra and published by Fox Interactive, both defunct and technically incorporated by Activision).
Some fans actually tried to purchase the rights from Activision but they claim that they don't own the rights for those games and they also don't know which company in fact does own the rights, it's a really bizarre story. But that means these games will probably never be remade or get a sequel, which is a big shame.

Blood Omen 2 actually began its life as a weird sequel/reboot of an old Genesis game called Chakan: The Forever Man on the Sega Dreamcast. When Chakan got canceled, they salvaged and repurposed almost ALL the assets from it (costumes, city/level design, the enemy designs), painted Legacy of Kain vampires over it, and threw together a plot after the fact (hence the weird Sarafan alien nonsense and why the whole game takes place in a gothic steampunk city). If you look hard enough, you can still find the old Chakan concept art where he's literally wearing Kain's exact costume with a simple head swap.
So if you're wondering why Blood Omen 2 always felt a bit off from the rest of the series, that's because it was never meant to be Blood Omen 2 in the first place. I still liked it though lol

MotorStorm is a canned game series that I still think about to this day. The first two were phenomenal when they released for the PS3, sadly it’s just the PS3 only. They were very fun. The third installment, Apocalypse, had almost no off-road, but it was still as good as the first two games. Sadly, in 2011, when that huge tsunami hit Japan, the game got canned in Japan, and it almost got canned in Europe. At least it released in the US.
But you gotta remember, this game released around the same time as NFS The Run and NFS Shift, which The Run didn’t sell very well. But Apocalypse sold even worse due to low marketing campaigns for the game went. I mean we did get R/C for the Vita, but it just wasn’t the same.
And after Driveclub flopped for Sony, they decided to throw Evolution Studios, the ones who created MotorStorm and Driveclub, into the forever box. Some of the devs went to Codemasters, in which Codemasters got bought out by EA somewhere this decade. Sadly, we will never see a racing game quite like MotorStorm ever again, unless some indie devs try to revive it under a different name.

The game play was pretty straightforward but that was a really good thing since it didn't break the immersion of the game. When you went to fight someone, you just went up to them and fought them. Nothing popping up on the screen, no combos you had to do just right or anything. It's a case of just keeping things basic, even by the standards of the day, really served the games well.

When Tenchu Z started letting you customize your own character, I thought, "Awesome, this is going to be the new standard" and then they dropped it.
