Not a satanist, not a defense of satanism, but man. With a title like that, some actual information would be welcome.
I agree i believe he’s tricking people too. The higher ups never know what the lower levels are doing.
Am I really supposed to believe that Matt doesn't know the distinction between LaVeyan and Theistic Satanism?
It frustrates me when people conflate paganism and Satanism because I think it ultimately diminishes the unique evil of Satanism and in doing so demonizes good people who may just not have the fullness of the truth. When I was an Odinist, I still worshipped the good. I simply believed the good was manifested through the Aesir instead of Christ. I even think that God may have worked through my devotion to the Aesir in the same way he might work through the devotion of a Mormon, Muslim, or Hindu. In fact the group I was a part of was actually criticized for being "too Christian" because we believed in things like divine law, damnation, piety, and so on. This is not Satanism, Satanism is the opposite of this. Satanism is the rejection of everything good. I think we need to be very careful what we label as Satanic and occult because if we cast too broad of a net, it could be dangerous.
I guess in a way it's like saying anti-vaxxers are bioterrorists. Like even if you believe they ultimately have the same effect, there's a clear difference. Alternatively, there's playing with fire and there's just burning down the forest. Shiva and Odin might be really be demons, I don't know, but for the most part people who worship them want to do good. However if someone identifies as a Satanist, no matter what kind or level of Satanism, it's based in a rejection of good. Both need our prayers but one should be handled differently from the other.

The satanic temple and the Church of satan are NOTHING to do with each other, at least know what you are talking about before defining it. The satanic temple aren't even levayian satanists.

I was actually looking at something about book burnings earlier and I legitimately believe destroying before reading is just inviting ignorance. You have to know your enemy. 🙏 Otherwise how can you intelligently combat them?
Burning books leads to witch burnings and we have to allow freedom for people to make their own mistakes and learn. Christ will always be there when they are ready to turn their lives around. But most won't until they have tasted the consequences of their own actions.. You can not force conversion. You can only offer hopeful and positive alternatives.
This kind of fear which runs throughout fundamentalism is actually a very slippery slope into passing false judgment. Discernment can only arise from correct knowledge, truth, Logos.
Throwing away a book is definitely a sign of a controlling boyfriend tbh

@@Kunjesvari Yep, controlling for sure. And he seems to be proud of it. When I converted I threw away a lot of my books- occult, lesbian feminist, or slightly inappropriately romantic. But they were my books to throw away. :) I don't think Christians need to read LaVey etc necessarily. But tell someone not to engage with it by talking to them, not destroying their stuff. :) It'd achieve more in the long run.
