this reminds me of what my archbishop once said about confession statistics: men’s most commonly confessed sin is lust, while women’s is envy.
How would gathering a statistic like this not break the confessional seal? Like maybe it isn't attached to a person's name but it would still require a priest to recall and tell what sins individuals told to him with what frequency during confession?
@@azriannabomann1179 It's no different than a doctor revealing that the majority of his patients suffer from x strain of the flu not violating hipa. There is no identifiable information, plus revealing the generic statistic can assist in some cases - for example I now know to be on guard against these sins, or a priest would know his parish could benefit from a series of sermons on these issues, or that the archdiocese could benefit from a retreat or day of reflection on these topics.

As a trained massage therapist, I was required to learn reiki and ayurvedic rituals. I was required to learn Chinese medicine for reflexology. At my spa job, I was required to perform a 90 minute "chakra cleansing" ritual, saying specific words, visualizing certain imagery, using carefully selected scented oils and so on, for a young woman getting over a break up. I cannot tell you how absolutely drained and devastated I felt after that one and only session. I swore never to do it again, and I didn't. Now that I've come back to God, my eyes have been forever OPENED. Please be wary and vet the spa you're thinking of going to. This is NOT innocent ignorance, it is blatant satanic ritual.
Maybe let's not be harsh insisting that it is "blatant satanic ritual". By your description, it at least is not blatantly "Satanic", and it could simply be New Age. Ignorant as to the roots in demonic distraction and power, and it could absolutely be people who innocently enjoy the sights, sounds, and "open-mindedness" of the New Age VS closed-minded, non-creative, simplistic Christianity. Hey, as a Christian, there seems to be nothing wrong with essential oils, candles, incense ( used in Catholic and Orthodox churches, why can't we do it at home ), nature sounds, or rock/crystals for visual comfort. We have such beauty in the Earth provided by our Creator, but my Conservative Evangelical community of my youth just wouldn't go anywhere near this stuff. I'm not a New Ager, but do I listen to any "New Age" musicians? Yes! Do I "channel" while doing so? H*ll, no. LoL. Commune with God. The Most High. We can discern deeper truths for ourselves, if we want to, enjoy Freedom in Christ, and, yes, if individuals have come out of the Occult / Dark Arts / Witchcraft, then do what is necessary to move on. I'm not prescribing the same Path for everyone moving forward in Christ. It is between oneself and God, as is my life, and any fellow Christian that would judge me in the wrong for my Freedom in Christ is themselves in the wrong. Whether it is Pride or Paranoia on their part, that's on them to work on. They are not loving me in judging me in sin, just as I would be in sin if I basically force my ways on them.

I walked into a store yesterday & there were tons of Occult centered books. I remember years ago, those were relegated to small corners of the old corner bookstore. Now it's in your face. Even celebrated
I actually inherited a number of occult books, tarot and other items. Currently they are in an ottoman, better kept by me, who won't use them anymore, then falling into the hands of someone who might use them

Yeah, I remember being a big time seeker of those books. Use to gripe about the Christian section was too big. Now it is the opposite and that freaks me out. Glad. Jesus saved me. Pray for those who are spiritually lost.

You could always burn the items. There could be demons attached to them. I would also pray to Jesus for protection and repent of my sins before touching the books so you don't open any doors for the spirits to get to you.
On April 30th of 2023 I was witness to a possessed person. It was terrifying. I will never forget the moment her eyes turned all black. I got out of there and found a priest soon after for a chat. I hadn't been to church in decades.

I may have done myself some Reiki training and got myself a certificate a while back. It's absolutely ridiculous. The metaphysics meant to justify their practice is just a joke. It's broken Zen Buddhism mixed with a busted idea of the chakra system sprinkled with some secular universe energy. Just silliness to the highest degree. I never practiced it on anyone but myself and feel extremely grateful that turned out to be the case

Hey there Lisa! I'm sorry to hear about the spiritual warfare taking place around and inside you. You sound confused as to why these demons would come after you when you haven't done anything occult, but one must not engage in the occult to be pestered by demons. The Desert Fathers of Skete dealt with demons all the time and they were 5th century monks living in the desert doing nothing but praising God.
Keep praying and doing the Lord's Will and the demons will wither away and beg for mercy.
When you say something feels like it's taking over, what does that feel like for you? Is it a feeling of intense lust, or what kind of feeling accompanies this taking over of you?

Women have been created to bond strongly with babies and children to keep them safe, that also means creating a strong community of people around you (family and friends) because literal human numbers keep women safe from harm and they get the practical and emotional help they need, especially in the huge job of raising children. Sociologists and psychologists have shown that rather than “fight or flight” women will “tend and befriend”= women will build connections and relationships for survival. So all that sociability and desire to connect which is essential, especially for raising healthy children and building a healthy community and society, can exploit the wrong people for connection or willing to be overly empathetic and sympathetic with others which can lead into unhealthy and even evil places when it doesn’t focus on God at the center (love, peace, truth, goodness and acknowledging that we are sinners that need redemption)
This is really well-stated.
I have often suspected that a woman's natural tendency towards manipulation does have a proper place in the raising of children (especially toddlers). Especially when the 'terrible twos' hit it takes real skill in getting children to make good choices and stick to them - and the best way to do that is to convince them that the good choice was entirely their decision. One of my nephews (many, many years ago) absolutely dominated his mother by the time he turned 3. While between jobs she moved in with me and stayed several months. She was absolutely shocked at how well he minded me - no temper tantrums, no sulking, so screaming fits, he was absolutely the best behaved of little boys.
Hmm I'm not so sure it's as innocent as you make out. In genesis it says "And the woman will try to control her husband but in the end he will rule over her". I think the sinful nature of fallen woman means she will use manipulation and covert tactics to control men and try to gain power them. This is all in an attempt to get from man what only God can give. Women are obsessed with relationships but its the relationship with God that's the only one that can break the curse women are under.
That's how the movie The Secret became so big. Women down on their luck bought into this movie. I don't know how many women recommended it to me. A few years after the movie, books and all the hype people were saying," how long do I have to do my mantras before something happens?"
The Secret had a community of followers of like minded followers and I think it was an easy path to other mystical/occult things.

I came from Protestantism because, as I told many of my brother and sisters, there was no play book on how to deal with the demonic. I found it in Catholicism and specifically in the Blessed Mother whose heal crushes the head of the evil one. Special blessings to Fr. Ripperger and his book Deliverance Prayers for the Laity.
It's the seed of woman (i.e. Christ) who crushes the serpent, not the woman. (Genesis 3:15). Incidentally, many Protestant believers have successfully dealt with the demonic.

Even if a particular translation doesn't use the word, "crush," per se, the verse I referenced still attributes the defeat of the serpent to the woman's seed, not her, regardless of the version. As you attest, it is essential to credit God alone for the defeat of evil. We should respect and admire Mary but Catholics take this issue too far. Ironically, I'm sure Mary agrees with me. As for your motive for asking this question, I'm a bit confused. I have cried out to God multiple times and He has heeded my calls; hence my defense of His exclusive role in humanity's redemption. Only the Creator came redeem creation. I do appreciate your tone and concern, however. I hope my tone is no less civil or respectful although it is difficult to convey tone in short correspondence. Yesterday( Sunday) we were at church as usual and when the priest came down with the eucharist to start giving a woman started screaming and yelling something. Some people went to work with her and another priest. I've had some experience with the holy spirit and bad ones, but never saw this type of experience in front of me. The body and blood of Christ (eucharist) is real and He's there never doubt it!

This is so true! I work with all women and women are so competive with each other. Ive never really understood it. I got an award at work and the retaliation and anger I received from the other women I worked with made me bitterly regret ever receiving that award. I think many of us women are insecure because the world tells us we need to be a million different things and we see a woman who does maybe one or two things better than we do and it festers that jealousy and anger in us. This is a huge problem even in catholic women groups or maybe I should say especially catholic women circles. Its because we arent taught our true identity in Christ. We aren't taught that we are loved by God just as we are. If we all truly beleived that then there would be nothing to be envious about.

@@Flo77966 the difference is that men shake hands after. They aren’t seething with jealousy when another of their sex is recognized or something good happens to them. There is nothing wrong with competition but jealousy and envy is something else. Women also retaliate against other women while men do not. Just look online and you’ll see the vast majority of petty comments come from women. It is a sad fact that women are far more vicious and cruel than males which is ironic since we are supposed to be the softer sex.
Why regret the award? You EARNED it. I would rather regret the cattiness and petty jealousy of women. I don't care about petty, small people because thank God, I am not one of them. If I have a dispute, I face the person in question. I have been told over the years, that I "think like a man" and yes, I'm a woman.

It seems to get worse as you gain deeper understanding of Christ Jesus and the Bible. While the rest of the congregation is at a surface level or superficial understanding.
But Christ Jesus warned us about this.

You should join a ministry or rosary 📿 group. That will be a smaller group of people with more than a surface interest in Catholism. Not just Sunday Catholics. This worked for me.

A lot of women fall for Madame Blavatsky's Theosophy. This is where the new age practices of today come from. These esoteric teachers that practiced occultism and syncretism of Eastern religions brought it to the West. Gnosticism is the center of their beliefs. They believe in "Christ Consciousness" and say you are a god.

I think also, women are brought up to be more accommodating and empathetic to others. It opens us up to listenining to and seeking to understand people who are introducing us to these dark things. I think men are more likely to be comfortable shutting down these conversations.

I think it's more commonly women who mess with the occult now because we lack male role models. We need men to help guide us like my therapist said "When Eve ate the apple where was Adam to stop her?" we need to work together to become a better christian society.

I remember when I got rid of my occult stuff. I was very deep into it. Collected animal remains and demonic books. My house was satanic. Wore goth clothes and have evil tattoos. But I started experiencing something tugging at me hard to get rid of it all. Supernatural occurrences. And one day I threw it all away. And later on when Halloween came by I got back into spending allot of money on decor for it. And again. The same nagging feeling told me to get rid of it all. Even my spouse said no because it was allot of money. But one night the chair in the kitchen moved on it’s own. Threw it all away as fast as i could. So now I don’t even celebrate Halloween. Soon I’ll be able to get the rest of my evil tattoos covered up. Slow process

That couldn't have been a Catholic Exorcist priest you went to. They do not handle situations like that, & also wouldn't be dealing with multiple possessed people in the same session. They certainly wouldn't allow a child - or any random adult for that matter - to be present during an Exorcism.

Get Holy water and Blessed Salt and bless everything they own with it (no need to tell them). Sprinkle Holy Water all over their bed and room, give them glasses of it with their meal, and ask God to use these sacramentals to protect your child and bring them to Christ.
Keep fervently praying for them, especially ask St. Michael and St. Benedict to pray for them. Keep yourself in a state of grace, go to confession regularly. You could try a green scapular for your children. Follow the example of St. Monica, pray fervently, it was her prayers that helped St. Augustine turn away from sin and achieve sainthood.

Counseling and spiritual direction are for different things and many people seek spiritual directors when they actually want counseling. Are you sure that's not the reason your pastors direct people to counseling?
Due to their more emotional nature (generally of course), women more naturally seek out emotionalism and spiritual movements are a way to do that. I noticed that a lot of women in my extended family are drawn to at best charismatic protestant groups, and at worst totally pagan practices. The men not so much, as they’re more logical. The sad thing is there’s a rich true spiritualism to be had in Catholicism. You have women like St. Therese of Lisioux and many others who were great mystics. The thing is Catholic mysticism requires some basic catechesis and a well maintaining of a state of grace to experience to some degree, and many women want the immediate counterfeit pleasures of things like Reiki and Wicca. Of course there’s a subset of men who just have a more feminine personality that are prone to the same issue.
Women probably get possessed because of men who aren't what they need so they go off into these things trying to fill the void. If men and women worked together maybe it wouldn't be so bad.
It is St. Teresa of Avila who is the great mystic, not Therese of Lisieux who had no mystical experiences at all; she soldiered on in her faith through dryness.

My daughter and her friends played with an ouja board trying to summon Curt Cobain. Not even 2 mins in one of the boys had q seizure with white foam coming out of his mouth. I had a strange experience last week.
I was working on a psychiatric unit, specialing an elderly man with dementia.
There was a Carer or Nurse assistant, who I found, well, a little strange.
I couldn’t quite put my finger on what it was.
He then told me during the course of the day that he was a “reiki master”. When he said this to me, the look he gave me was quite chilling. I couldn’t make out the sclera of his eyes. That’s all I can say.
Subsequently, I was in the elderly man’s room, helping him remain to settle for the evening. The carer came in, and noticed that I was playing ‘Radio Maria’ in the background on the TV. It’s a Catholic radio station.
He immediately went over a switched the channel. What I found odd was that, it really didn’t matter what I had on, the man I was caring for had zero environmental awareness and was, in effect, in his own little world.
I thought it very strange the carer took such umbrage to it.
Got that so right about woman manipulating. We are always looking for ways to make the situation go the ways we want!

Each pose is giving honor to a separate god.
To an extent, I disagree with this. As men are often shamed for showing public sadness is, women are often conditioned not to show anger in public. Occult practices give the illusion of control and an excuse for angry and violent thoughts.
Okay. Explain why it’s more common for men to murder and/or assault people, molest children, etc? Is that not possibly part of some kind of possession?
Not trying to troll, but this kind of discussion gives me “witch burning” vibes.
Women are more prone to “spiritual woo”, but there are plenty of men who get sucked into occult practices- I notice the extreme tech nerd-types of men tie AI to some kind of religious ideology.
It seems that the women who fall into “woo” are seeking meaning in life, and they are often the ones with disposable income- engaging yoga and reiki are like status symbols for them.
After reading many of your comments. You have anger and other issues that you need to work out.

I live in a where where tech platforms endlessly “teach” men that women are the source of all misery, that we are to be used and discarded, now they are telling men we deserve no rights and should be forced to endlessly breed children with no guarantee of support. Tech is pushing men into red pill and glorifying sharia law. They’re also pushing men to be kweer and to see man-on-man love as the ideal. They’re pushing ladyboys as the official women, and women as sub humans. I live in a world where the tech industry plans to replace me with artificial women, mutilated men with breast implants and femme robots, and men are already primed to be consumers. So, yes, I have “anger and other issues” in a world that deems me irreparably inferior and vows to replace me with a soulless machine. I was raised to seek love and to be loved and have children, and that is denied to me due to the tech men create and worship. And even THEN, my s3x is blamed for what THEY desire and design. If I get upset, I am “possessed”? I must accept my own extinction? There is no “winning” here, even the Jesus-pushers have tetra bytes or torture in their devices and would also replace their partners with a robotic doll if they had the choice, there is only defeat and extinction.

I won't dare participate in yoga or any new age stuff. IF I get a pedicure or manicure I even ensure the shop I go to is owned by Catholics because many of them are into new age or Buddhism.

I'm Catholic and an acupuncturist. We used to treat the nuns in Milwaukee. I research the science behind it all the time and there's a lot. I speak about it in western terms and explain to my patients that the word qi was misinterpreted as energy when it should have been oxygen. Oxygen is in the blood or there is death.
There were lots of Buddhist in my class though and crazy people in the classes ahead of me so thought they were witches. But several other Catholics were in school too. The church allows for medical acupuncture. My hope is that the church world take anew look into the science behind it. All of the fascia and how the DNA runs through the tubules and that's the meridians. It's quite amazing.

This girl was giving me a massage once and I had my eyes shut then I open my eyes and looked up and she was doing reiki on me I went completely nuts and told her to get out
I’m learning in my flesh I am very selfish and desire to manipulate my situations to get what I want.
As i work on my selflessness with the Holy Spirit, I continually am letting things go. I don’t need to know the why behind why someone doesn’t like me, why I didn’t get the job, etc. Just letting it go and allowing God to do His will in my life for the advancement of the gospel.
All these mystics and astrologers target women too.
