At about 9:30, you mention the 4th target as super units.... but I'm pretty sure the 4th target type is structure. Also, For the next challenge? Deathless.
Also, the colossus is part of the same series of mechs as cyclopes, so you could call it infantry, but I'm more confused about why cyclopes aren't vehicles in the first place
I assume cyclops are held to the same or similar regard as Spartan suits. They are more of an extension to the operator’s body with neural links and such, giving them a bridge between infantry and vehicle.
@lalalalalalalalalala-js5xlFor balance, canonically a Scarab is basically just giant, mining and excavation power armor for the Lekgolo. Now, a Goliath is definitely infantry.
Flood vehicle forms do make a lot of sense in lore. Bear with me here cause I'm a touch rusty on the lore but... The flood learns by accumulating the knowledge of everything it consumes. Once enough of that knowledge is consumed, it will eventually spawn a gravemind like entity. The biomass that Captain keyes was a part of in CE was the beginning of one of those gravemind entities. The flood learned the ability to pilot human and covenant vehicles as well as properly operate human and covenant weapons. Gravemind is responsible for flying High Charity to the Ark. It is conceivable that all the biomass consumed within High Charity would lead to an excess of experimentation. Gravemind likely created these vehicle forms as that made them more reliable, as they couldn't just be pilot sniped. Also Gravemind and entities like it are immortal, at least to weapons. That's why the forerunners had to create the halos in the first place. The only way to defeat the Flood is to starve it of food.
19:23 a lot is an understatement, your entire army got shredded 25:33 the flood absorbs the memories of their host, which is how the flood is able to fly the covenant ship in halo 3, and how it was able to defeat the forerunner, so the flood infects the pilot of the vehicle then the biomass kinda consumes it
When explaining the rock-paper-scissors aspect, you said the last symbol is for super units, which is not correct. It means buildings like base parts and turrets. Super units in this game are classed as one of the three main unit types (scarabs are vehicles, condors are air, etc.)
Halo 2 had flood controlled vehicles in the later section Quarantine Zone I think? those iirc had just flood units in the driver seats/turrets, so i'm guessing the infection just grew or spread over the vehicle units over time for Halo Wars 2 and that DLC
@@rocketlauncher6207it’s unclear for the vast majority of the game, and if memory serves we still don’t know when that last scene with Atriox happened. He could have died afterwards. Regardless, the game being only like a quarter finished made it difficult to figure out exactly what Atriox’s current status is. We don’t even get an explanation as to why everybody thinks he’s dead and it’s treated like such an offhand thing that it feels jarring whenever it does get mentioned. Long story short it’s not unreasonable that people may have come out of infinite thinking he’s dead.
@rocketlauncher6207 sorry, everyone said he died but he's actually hooking up with wOrSe ThAn ThE fLoOd. That'll be dropped for another tEn YeArS oF sUpPoRt soft reboot that's keeping me soft for Halo.
I honestly wish they did more with the Ark. Hunters In The Dark makes the Ark so much more interesting, with so much life that is missing in Halo Wars 2. Like it be so cool if there was a level with a carnivorous tree or the stave wielding bros (I forget their name). I do appreciate them bringing Retrievers though.
Overall, I thought the recasting was pretty good, sure Anders to me isn’t as attractive, but that's not a ding. The new actress still gives her that standoffish, ready to delve into the unknown scientist. Cutter on the other hand, while I did like him, I thought his casting was really weird because he got younger looking and sounding. Generally, I'm all for recasting changing up a character's looks, but why did Cutter get younger? That just confuses me.
I enjoy the Flood DLC and wish instead of a Wave Defense mode we had the option to fight them in Skirmish, never play as just fight. That and its the Flood a Single Spore of it escaping some place and waiting means maybe in less scuffed Halo Games we can fight in first person these new forms for better or worse.
For the henti tenties I think they may have just bugged out as I’ve played the DLC a few times and they’ve always attacked my troops mainly focusing on my hero’s so idk why they just did nothing
@@Dustiboi1 Much appreciated! As the other commenter mentioned I would recommend the Bungie Halo games. Reach is my personal favorite of the mainline games. Worthwhile for a playthrough or two :)
@@skilledfaun oh yeah Reach is definitely my favorite. If you want the cannon order for it. Reach, Halo 1, ODST(only because I think it makes a good prequel for the events of 2) Halo 2 Halo 3 But the best one is definitely Reach. So honestly play it last IMO
I hold to the idea that halo 4/5, while still a downright travesty bordering on the level of franchise assassination, are not unplayable games. Play the originals in order, and you’re in for a good experience. Play 4/5 AFTER tempering your expectations only if interested. They do have their good moments, and At the very least you can form your own opinions after that. H1: old vets still claim it’s the best game ever made. They’re wrong, It has aged poorly in a lot of ways, but its still a great game especially for the era. Highly reccomended. H2: massive leap in quality, holds up to this day. First halo with (mostly) great polish that starts fleshing out the lore. Must play. H3: Franchise peak. Even more polish. Grand conclusion to the original story. Arguably most cohesive all in one package from story/gameplay/atmosphere/ect. Must play. H3 - ODST: a bit of an odd duckling. Atmosphere is vastly different. Much smaller scale story. Shows you a different side to the war, how regular soldiers who are not the master chief struggle to deal with the covenant. SMOOTH JAZZ. But if you don’t play, it’s not like the other games won’t make sense. Highly recommended. Reach: prequel. Definitely took some inspiration from COD and other grey, gritty, military shooters that were popular at the time, but not so much that the core identity has shifted. Bit of a depressing game, but it was fantastic swan song of a game for bungee to leave the franchise on, and it’s the most technically proficient as well. Some odd gameplay choices but none game breaking. Must play. H4: just similar enough to the originals to keep you playing but something always feels…off. Annoying enemies, annoying characters, incompetent friendly AI, Cortana got a weirdly sexual design that undercuts pretty much every scene she is in. Some decent interpersonal character writing tho, weirdly enough. Only play if curious. H5:….doesn’t even feel like Halo. Not an incompetent game, if only it wasn’t a Halo title. Avoid, play only to see what destroyed the franchise. Infinite: strangely enough, has the best overall gameplay of all halo games. Obviously, an unfinished game. Like, really obvious. I would be surprised if what we got was even a tenth of what the original vision was. But the core gameplay was so good people didn’t even care for like, a year, before the mood finally swung against it. Still, if you enjoy the other halo games, it’s pretty fair to reason that you will enjoy playing this one, even if the story is nonexistent, there are very few characters, and It is permeated with the melancholy of knowing what it could’ve been if the foundation had been expanded upon. Recommended. HW1/2: if you’d like RTS, you would like these. Some of the best RTS released on consoles, if that is your preferred mode of play. Highly reccomend, depending on taste. I didn’t start this comment intending to give a couple sentence review of every game, but I ended up doing so. Hope it helps.
If you select all units, you are able to cycle through selecting all units of that type (Marines, ODSTs, Cyclops, etc.). In that example I had all of them selected, then used their grenade ability. Thanks for watching!
With so many skulls making the game easier I have to wonder why not just play on a lower difficulty sithout skulls instead? Its probably about the same level of difficulty and we dont have to remember all those different modifiers the skulls are giving

You have one skull that increases unit health by 50% AND a skull that decreases unit health by 50%..... peak halo content lol
I want to see the logic behind this
well it makes for a 75%. health. so. still a debuff
Lmao
As scarabs use hunter worm colonies to move, they are technically infantry in the lore and should be allowed in this challenge.

Glad to hear you are enjoying the Halo Wars content! Expect more in the future :)
@ Any plans for the next H1 or H2 video? You could do no unit loss challenge on H2. H1 for that challenge is far more doable
That would be a fun idea. I was thinking of doing a LASO run, but may do that instead!
